- "As advertised but I would emphasize that this is a truly a rustic and historic property. It has a massive charm factor but it is hundreds of years old and has some of the foibles of an old home. Paul, the host was great walking us through these when we checked in and being there if anything minor happened. He also was great with recommendations and was super accommodating to our family. The pool and grounds are truly spectacular and make a sty here more than worth it. It is also a really nice and not over tourististed part of Portugal and was the perfect way to ease my family into our trip while getting adjusted to time zone changes."

Our house has two bedrooms, one with double bed, the other with 2 single beds, typical equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace and sofa bed. It has wifi and satellite TV.

- "This was a unique experience for us -- staying on a cork farm. The setting was stunning - the views amazing and you will truly get an authentic Alentejo experience. Note that is it not close to Evora, so keep that in mind. That said, I don't know that we've ever met a kinder and more welcoming host. Not only did his welcome us to the property, but he gave us a tour of his cork farm and explained the harvesting process -- it was such a personal touch and so fascinating. We just loved it. The owner went above and beyond, helping us make dinner reservations and when I became sick from a sunburn and too much ambition to "see everything," he helped us navigate the best way to get medical help. He honestly could not have been nicer. A true gentleman. If you want to see the beauty of the Alentejo countryside and to learn about cork farming (rather than taking an expensive tour), I recommend this stop for a relaxing and informative stay."

- "A lovely, cosy Alentejo style cottage situated in a rural area surrounded by vineyards, cork and olive trees. Everything was as described in the listing and the local property manager was lovely and made the check-in and check-out process seamless. A nice welcome basket was awaiting us of local wine, cheese and bread. Sadly, the view of the fields from the back patio was blocked by overgrown vegetation during our stay. The lemon tree was full of fruit and we were encouraged to pick them to make lemonade. (Which we did! ) The people in town were very friendly, as well."

This recently rebuilt medieval house consists of: hall, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, pantry, bathroom. a large living room with fireplace and two patios, one indoor and one outdoor.
The area started out as a Visigothic castle from the 8th century, several times rebuilt until the Middle Ages.
Given its location next to the border with the ancient kingdoms of Castile and Leon, it was a place of wars between Kings and great Portuguese and Castilian lords.
You can travel by car, train or bus, directly from Lisbon or Faro airport.

It is beautiful house and well equipped. there is loads of light and beautiful courtyard overlooking the old tower from the castle . Peaceful and quiet we enjoyed sitting outside -all you can hear there is the birds and the bells from the church tower. It is located opposite Enoteca where you can try the best wines from the region. The supermarket is 5 min down the hill and about 4 bars and restaurants within 2 minutes walk. Maria welcomed us warmly and was very helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Missing the place already"
