- "As advertised but I would emphasize that this is a truly a rustic and historic property. It has a massive charm factor but it is hundreds of years old and has some of the foibles of an old home. Paul, the host was great walking us through these when we checked in and being there if anything minor happened. He also was great with recommendations and was super accommodating to our family. The pool and grounds are truly spectacular and make a sty here more than worth it. It is also a really nice and not over tourististed part of Portugal and was the perfect way to ease my family into our trip while getting adjusted to time zone changes."

- "This was a unique experience for us -- staying on a cork farm. The setting was stunning - the views amazing and you will truly get an authentic Alentejo experience. Note that is it not close to Evora, so keep that in mind. That said, I don't know that we've ever met a kinder and more welcoming host. Not only did his welcome us to the property, but he gave us a tour of his cork farm and explained the harvesting process -- it was such a personal touch and so fascinating. We just loved it. The owner went above and beyond, helping us make dinner reservations and when I became sick from a sunburn and too much ambition to "see everything," he helped us navigate the best way to get medical help. He honestly could not have been nicer. A true gentleman. - "A lovely, cosy Alentejo style cottage situated in a rural area surrounded by vineyards, cork and olive trees. Everything was as described in the listing and the local property manager was lovely and made the check-in and check-out process seamless. A nice welcome basket was awaiting us of local wine, cheese and bread. Sadly, the view of the fields from the back patio was blocked by overgrown vegetation during our stay. The lemon tree was full of fruit and we were encouraged to pick them to make lemonade. (Which we did! ) The people in town were very friendly, as well."

This recently rebuilt medieval house consists of: hall, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, pantry, bathroom. a large living room with fireplace and two patios, one indoor and one outdoor.
The area started out as a Visigothic castle from the 8th century, several times rebuilt until the Middle Ages.
Given its location next to the border with the ancient kingdoms of Castile and Leon, it was a place of wars between Kings and great Portuguese and Castilian lords.

This gorgeous, large, cool, beautifully laid out house provided plenty of space for 8 people - 4 adults and 4 kids. The huge pool and garden area were fabulous and inside the big cool, airy, rooms equipped with a pool table, games room and a large comfy sitting room and spacious bedrooms meant everyone could spread out and properly relax. The kitchen is really well equipped and lovely to cook in, and the shaded outside eating space was just perfect. The surrounding area is really interesting - beautiful hill top towns, a massive lake and a great observatory meant there was lots to see but without competing with too many other tourists. We had some great meals out, recommended by the host. This was a truly perfect holiday! Thank you so much for having us."

- "The apartment is spacious, and well decorated in authentic style. Shopping is relatively easy, and kerbside parking in front of the apartment is convenient. The kitchen is modern and quite well equipped and when we needed other items the owner quickly arranged for their delivery. The WiFi is effective and there is a wide range of TV channels in different languages. There is a pleasant little courtyard at the back with a table and chairs, although we had to wipe them clean before they could be used. However, as presently equipped, it is not recommended as a winter let. Being renovated from an old house, and measuring 200 sq metres, we did not expect central heating. However, there was only one old small heater in the apartment, barely able to keep one room warm at a time. The beautifully appointed dining room could not be heated by it at all as it had no electric socket. There was a fireplace in the sitting room but nothing to inform guests as to whether it was a working or decorative fireplace. Nor was any wood or instrument available, such as a fire guard, to indicate it was capable of being used. We therefore did not wish to risk using it. We made several requests to the owner for an additional heater. She appeared to ignore our first one, then she claimed there was another heater. However, after two thorough searches, we could not find them. We were also puzzled why her assistant, who appears to live locally, did not come to the property and show us where it was. The owner then told us that if we had wanted a warm apartment, we could have booked one of her other more expensive air-conditioned properties advertised on the HomeAway website. We thought this a rather irrelevant statement as air conditioning is generally designed to keep a property cool in the heat of summer and not warm in the cold of winter. When our scheduled stay was over, we sent a message to the owner informing her that we had vacated the property and left it in good order. She then replied still claiming there was another heater in the property and that she would allow us to stay an additional one or two nights for free, in view of the trouble this incident had caused us! We had, however, already left to catch our return flight. It is intrinsically a nice apartment but we could not recommend it as a winter let unless the heating arrangements, and advice to guests as to what they are, were to be greatly improved. "

For a memorable meal, we recommend Celeiro do Pinto, but Engaço, Os Arcos, or A Torre are also fantastic choices.

For nature lovers, the Serra d'Ossa is a mere 18 minutes away (18 km). Venture along the new Serra d'Ossa walkways for breathtaking views, and afterward, savor traditional cuisine at Chana do Bernardino or the Serra d'Ossa restaurant. A short drive away, delve into the history of the museum-city of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

If you are planning your visit for August, you will have a unique opportunity: in 2025, Redondo will once again celebrate its famous "Ruas Floridas" (Flowered Streets) Festival. There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking on the property. If our team discovers evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g smoke smell, ashes, butts, etc.), we fully reserve the right to charge a €200 smoking fee at minimum.

Once a reservation is confirmed, guests are requested to complete a guest registration form following the legal obligations stipulated by local authorities in Portugal.

Please note that for stays longer than 30 nights, a fair use policy of the utilities will apply with a limit of 80€.
