Unplug and unwind. Beautiful scenic log cabin home. This is a two bedroom, two story log home with 11/2 baths. Cabin has all the furnishings for your comfort, nothing to bring except food. All linens, cookware, coffee pot, and microwave furnished. Bedrooms are on second floor. Bedroom 1 has one Queen, Bedroom 2 has one double and one single. Queen sleeper sofa on first floor. Satellite TV, grill , picnic table, front porch swing. Relax and watch the deer crossing. If you enjoy fishing, bring your pole. Paddle boat available. Due to the location, internet is spotty. Listen to the crickets at night or watch the sun rise from porch with cup coffee. Owners on premises for quick responses to your needs.

Unique space with high ceilings & exposed brick walls. The bathroom features a soaker claw foot tub plus a lux walk in shower. The kitchen features solid surface counters, a large farmhouse sink, really nice appliances and thoughtful touches everywhere. The wifi is blazing.
Have issues with stairs? This is not a good choice for you. If you're up for stairs and want a unique slice of history in a hip package then you will not be disappointed.

The space
In 1865 this building was the home of Nye and Starr, a manufacturer of tinware and stoves. The Starr in this business was actually Benjamin Starr, later of the famous Starr Piano Company and Starr Gennett Records. This tin shop was his first business after he returned from the civil war and would become the first step into Richmond's jazz and recording history. The loft also became the residence to the fire chiefs of our city. The number one fire house is directly behind us and now serves as a BBQ restaurant.
The neighborhood has become the place to come in Richmond for entertainment, food, and events. THE place in Richmond to connect and gather. It has become the hub of our community and to those visiting or attending a local college. With your stay, two breakfasts meals and two signature drinks at Roscoe's are included each day as our gift to you.

The coffee shop is no longer located below the loft, but it was only a few blocks away and the hosts provided free specialty drinks, which was nice of them to do. This home has been lovingly renovated & stylishly updated in each living area of our spacious modern mansion which includes a beautifully appointed parlor, living room, large foyer, dining room, and kitchen on the main level as well as 6 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and a rec room on the second floor.

We are surrounded by beautiful parks. 4 miles from Hayes Arboretum . We are 2 miles to the Depot District. A historical area with a microbrewery, unique shops, restaurants and a coffee house and walking distance to Earlham College.

We loved using the pool table and brought some of our own games as well. Towels and toiletries were provided, and laundry was available. Don't let the outside fool you, the inside is just as beautiful as the pictures. Camerin was a great host, and quick to reply to whatever questions we had. After our stay, we noted a few things that would have improved it (mainly in the kitchen - cooking for 12 can be a challenge!), such as additional dishes, cups, and bigger pots. Camerin truly took our recommendations to heart and followed up with pictures of the additions that were made! Definitely would stay here again for a future friends getaway weekend!"

This cozy bungalow was built in 1900 and is conveniently located right off Main Street & just one block from the Glenn Miller Park entrance. The bohemian decor throughout as well as the original wood details on the staircase & ceiling beams make for an unique setting. It’s centralized location is easy to find & access from any part of the city, and the off street parking is helpful as well.

- "Richmond is a beautiful town, but navigating it was a challenge due to closed roads, dead ends, and one-way streets. We arrived as it was getting dark and beginning to rain. We circled round and round trying to find the bungalow, and determined that the address given in a VRBO email does not exist. Then we found a different address in a different email, the email that also included the key code. The second address was not easy to find in the rain, but it turned out to be correct. The key code worked on the first try. Once we found the bungalow, it was great. It is an older house with character, but it has been refurbished. The bathroom and bedrooms are upstairs. The basement is exceptionally clean. The front porch is a great place to drink coffee in the morning. We had a nice chat with the neighbor, who has a beautiful garden. It is a very good place to stay if you can find it."

Interesting historical context: The home, named Edgewood, was built in 1941 (in the middle of World War II) and was very ahead of its time. The architects designed the hot water (boiler) heating system that is still in use today. Hamilton and Graham of Muncie was the name of the architect firm who designed this home. They were instrumental in founding the well-regarded architecture school at Ball State University. The man who built the house was E H Gilcrest, who started out as the sales manager for Westcott Automobile, made in Richmond. Mr. Westcott ended up marrying Mr. Gilcrest’s sister, and they moved to Springfield, Ohio and hired Frank Lloyd Wright to design their house, the Westcott House , which you can tour to this day. Mr. Gilcrest ended up being a successful car dealership owner in Richmond, which probably accounts for all the outbuildings, since he also had a little racing team. The racetrack used to be on the west side of Richmond where Bomgaars farm supply store (2100 W National Road, Richmond, IN 47374) is now located. One of the bedrooms was originally two maids’ rooms, later converted into one room and used as a home office by Mr. John Harlan, the second owner of the home. One of Mr. Harlan’s sons and his lovely wife live a few doors down on Edgewood Drive. The school bell on the roof of the summer kitchen came from the schoolhouse that originally stood at 2269 Minneman Rd, where a home is now located that the third owners (Jerry and Ladonna Jenson) of this home lived in prior to purchasing it from the Mr. Harlan. One of Jerry and Ladonna’s daughters and her family also still live in the neighborhood. Our neighbor will meet your group to share a short walk-through of the property.

Our original log cabin with pool, hot tub and gardens provides the perfect family get away! Located on Quaker Hill right next to a retreat center, you'll see our horse (Brimstone) grazing in the pasture behind the cabin and have access to trails leading to a beautiful waterfall. The Historic Downtown and Depot Districts are both just a mile away or you can visit Earlham College or explore the Antique Alley nearby.

Even though I had told the owner/manager that I had an allergy to smoke she didn't mention this smell. The kitchen felt dirty. Dishes cracked. Old sponge to wash dishes with. The garden was beautiful. The hot tub was nice but also felt dirty. The cats and horse were friendly. I wouldn't recommend staying here."

Historical Starr mansion built in 1880. The home was converted to have two apartments upstairs and one downstairs. The woodwork and fireplaces are all original. The rooms are large and bright with tall ceilings and hardwood floors. It’s a beautiful home that has stood the rest of time.

Experience historic Centerville in this landmark home located on Main Street in Centerville, Indiana. If you wish to take a step back in time while not losing out on the comfort of all modern amenities, this is the perfect place to stay. Every corner gives you the feeling of what it is like to visit historic Centerville — from the fireplaces to the vintage doors and even the kitchen cabinets — but what will surprise you most is the up-to-date comfort you can experience in such a historic home.

The property features 5 private suites, each with its own bathroom including toilet and shower. Three of the suites are furnished with two queen beds each, and the remaining two suites each offer two twin beds.

He let us check in a little early which was great, and even stopped by to check on us a little while later. Slept ten, 2 beds in each bedroom. 6 full baths, one for each bedroom plus one downstairs. Just a few steps west of downtown right on US 40. Centerville is a small midwestern town, very safe. Bar and a restaurant right down the street. Short drive to Richmond and lots of eating/drinking places there. Check out was easy and once again James let us stay about an hour later than the advertised checkout time. All in all, a wonderful stay and we would definitely do it again for our next bowling tournament in Richmond."

- "Stay was cancelled day of do to disaster or damage" - "The pictures uploaded are either very old, or doctored. Bed sheets had stains on them with black light. Cameras installed throughout the inside of the home. No running water when we arrived. We checked into a motel, and then owner tried to charge me $2000.00 for "water damage", when there was no running water and we never stayed."

Parking could be difficult at times in front of the building, but the walk from the parking lot at the medical building diagonally across the street from the apartment building allowed us to park in their parking lot and the walk back was close.
