Miss Jo’s is one of three options at Sandy Cut Cabins. It’s a cozy one bedroom log cabin with a large private back deck. Miss Jo’s Cabin is just 2 miles from historic downtown Saluda and conveniently located beside part of the Sand Cut Pass railroad. Unfortunately, the train no longer travels the Saluda Grade but guests enjoy hiking along the old tracks for a day of exploring the quaint little town of Saluda. If you’re the adventurous type, Saluda offers Green River Adventures right downtown as well as The Gorge zip line. Just one mile past the cabin you’ll find Pearson Falls waterfall. It’s a moderate hike and enjoyable for children and “children at heart”. There are many day trip options in the area including the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, DuPont State Forest which has several waterfalls, and the Tryon International Equestrian Center. Please keep in mind that being surrounded by nature includes pesky insects and bugs and occasionally they get inside the cabin.
The fire pit and overlook bench are shared spaces. The driveway is steep but most vehicles can manage it at a slow steady pace.

The roads within our development are gravel and our driveway is steep. 4WD/AWD vehicles are necessary in times of inclement weather. They are not necessary year-round but more easily navigate getting up the driveway.

There is no cable...only a smart TV with a DVD player and some DVDs.

Convenient hiking right from the cabin, easy skip over to Saluda and Hendersonville, and a perfect place to call home for a few! Alison is super easy to work with and made sure everything went smoothly. She was responsive and attentive before our arrival with recommendations (The Purple Onion in Saluda did not disappoint!) and helpful through a minor snag upon arrival to the cabin. The directions were easy follow, even with a road washout due to all the rain in the area. The hiking was a bit of a bushwhack downhill (option 2 in the book) with several downed trees to navigate (again likely due to the recent heavy and consistent rainfall) but would do it again and never felt like we were off trail or lost whatsoever. We did the option 1 ridgeline hike too and while enjoyable is probably better in the winter when the leaves are off the trees...we went until the trail started markedly downhill and turned around - about 1 mile out from the cabin. Had a nice birthday dinner at Brandy's on Main down in Hendersonville on Saturday night and even managed to enjoy a bit of live music in the square before heading back home. The screened porch seemed to always have a breeze and the view from the hammock is amazing and sitting and reading on the uncovered deck was also nice (also with amazing views). We will certainly be back to the area and would absolutely stay here again!"

Originally the servants' quarters on the grounds of a home built by a founder of the lake during the 1920's, the Nest has been renovated into a large open concept space which is very private and has its own entrance. The owners live in the main house with their cat. Guests have access to the grounds and enjoy badminton on our court, swimming, fishing, kayaking , paddle boarding, picnics at the dock and walks along the lake road. Our boathouse is especially popular with guests and can be reached via the 88 stone steps or by car.

This 1927 Southern Railroad Caboose X61 is located right in the heart of the Charming Historic Railroad town of Saluda, North Carolina overlooking the railroad tracks, once the steepest railroad grade in the United States until the trains stopped running through Saluda. If you are a cyclist just keep your bikes and cycling gear on the deck and head out to some of the best cycling in Western North Carolina. The Hotel Domestique 17 is located just 15 miles down the beautiful Greenville Watershed Road. Inspired by world famous cyclist George Hincapie this is a great place to ride to take a break and head back up the watershed to Saluda.

It can be a little busy on the weekends with Green River Adventures right in front; however, the staff are super friendly and they did a great job making sure we had access to our driveway at all times (and we did a couple of their outings while there and they were great). The top deck is a great spot to eat and take in the sites of town; you're right on top of the action but it also feels very private. Fantastic to be able to walk to everything. While we deal with the what is going with the corona virus, I want to reassure you that we disinfect and clean as if I would be staying. We disinfect and clean all touchable surfaces, knobs, countertops after each guests.

For a great mountain get away that is still close to many activities and mountain explorations you will love to stay at Mulberry Acres. A rustic hideaway nestled in the mountains of Saluda NC. This rustic cabin has a relaxing deck out front and as you enter you will find a full kitchen with new appliances, living area and bathroom with a shower. On the main level there is a ceder walled queen bedroom which was once a horse stall and has now been beautifully remodeled. In the upstairs loft (1000 sq ft), there is another sitting area, double bed, and two twin beds, there is a total of 1600 sq ft. This cabin is located on a gated 2.5 acres which is completely fenced in. The property boasts a small stream, picnic table and fire pit. We do have Internet.
Did I mention that on a clear night you can reach up and almost touch the stars?

We are just a few minutes from the historic town of Saluda, NC. Saluda is home to the oldest grocery store in NC, a railroad museum packed with history, Green River Rafting, and many gift shops. We are about 30 minutes from the Tryon Equestrian Center. We are centrally located between Asheville NC and Greenville SC. You can enjoy day trips to the Biltmore House, River Arts district in Asheville and various antique shopping destinations. We are also close to Hendersonville, NC which has many main street shopping and restaurants.

For the outdoor enthusiast there is Pearson Falls, many hiking trails and cyclist riding. We are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain, plus so much more. Since we are in a secluded location if we are going to have extreme bad weather which is usually during winter or spring we need to have the right to cancel. It is for your safety.

Our secluded and cozy cabin, Carra’s Cabin, is one of three of our Sandy Cut Cabins options. It’s furnished with one bedroom, full sized bathroom and updated kitchen accommodations. The deck features a private Hot Tub, a grill and outdoor dining area for the perfect ending to a perfect day of exploring.

Carra’s Cabin is best suited for 2 adults, not suitable for children of any age. The driveway is steep at the bottom but levels off. Follow the driveway to the end for Carra’s Cabin. We have 2 other cabins on the property but each is secluded and private. The lockbox is located on the cabin near the hot tub and the key fits the french door.

This 700 square foot cottage has been completely remodeled and redesigned with an open floor plan, loft area, and a full kitchen and bath. It sleeps 2-4 people comfortably. Enjoy your morning coffee on the attached deck area and a relaxed mountain evening, sipping on a glass of wine while watching the fireflies. Cozy up by your own personal fire pit for a quiet evening in. Great for walking, jogging, and biking. The setting is quiet and feels somewhat remote, but you are not far from all that Saluda, Hendersonville, Tryon, Asheville, and Greenville have to offer.

Are water sports your thing? Come stay on beautiful Lake Summit. It's THE place to get wet! Enjoy everything from motorboat sports to first class fishing or just getting a tan. For anglers, it's home to dozens of species of fish. The Green River runs right through it so you can take your canoe up river all the way to the head waters for great trout fishing. It's only 30 minutes from the best trout streams around, the Mills, Davidson and Green Rivers. (You will need a NC resident or nonresident fishing license if you don’t have one.) There's a kayak for guest use or you can bring your boat with a registration fee of $60. We have a boathouse and dock to make your stay even better... perfect for tanning, eating lunch on the picnic table or just reading a book. For the athletes, it is a great place to take a long run or bike ride around the long, winding perimeter road…it’s about 9 miles around the lake.

The house has two bedrooms with a queen bed in each and 1½ baths (the half bath/laundry room is accessible from a boardwalk that wraps around the exterior left side of the house so you don’t have to go through the house wet), wood floors, tall ceilings, large kitchen, comfortable beds, great linens, and a large covered front porch with a poetic view of the lake. There's a TV and DVD player, but no cable, wi-fi or satellite...but who needs it when you have all that water to play in, right?

We have repeat guests that have stayed with us for years and we’d love for you to come for your own stay. We also host families whose children attend one of the three summer camps on the lake. It’s really a wonderful spot.

Need more outdoor adventure Brevard is only 30 miles away and the Tryon Equestrian Center is within 25 miles. Green River Narrows close by as well!

Come enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge with your stay at The Treehouse Cabin in Saluda. EXTENDED STAYS PREFFERRED AND DISCOUNTED. This 1890s cabin sits at 2,100 feet above the private lake community of Lake Hosea. The fully screened wrap around porch is a great way to relax after your day of adventure, shopping, or just hanging out at the lake. The quaint town of Saluda is less than 3 miles down the mountain with numerous restaurants and shops. Although you will feel like you are away from everything, the cabin is equipped with WiFi and a Roku TV to keep you and your family dialed in and entertained. Please note: the internet is DSL. I have never had a problem with internet use as well as streaming channels. I am a chord cutter, I do not have cable. The Treehouse was built in the 1890s and has a rich history. Updated with modern conveniences the home includes a loft master bedroom with sitting area and work space and an alcove with a twin bed. Note that although the cabin features traditional A-frame ceiling, the loft ceiling is extremely tall and you will not have to crouch down like so many other cabins in this area. The cozy living room has a comfy large couch and two plush chairs. The Treehouse has a full bath upstairs including an antique claw foot tub with wrap around custom shower ring creating a large space to enjoy a refreshing shower.
The loft and the second bedroom, a sun porch with a sun splashed style with separate entrance, have new queen sized gel mattresses. The cabin sleeps 5 comfortably. There is a small half bath/water closet is steps away. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, spice rack, flatware, a block knife set, coffee maker, microwave, and quality cookware. Full coffee and tea set is provided. The cabin has a charcoal grill on the back outdoor deck. Lake Hosea is a private community for residents only and you certainly feel that in the secluded woods as you enter the neighborhood. The lake is a wonder for swimming, fishing and non motorized craft (many floats provided). Be sure to watch out for the numerous ducks that live here – we all love them and care for them as part of our family! Please be sure to keep things inside and up and away. These are, after all, the mountains and the wild things live here, too!

PLEASE NOTE! Cell reception is not great in Saluda. Best bets are T Mobile, ATT, and Metro PCS.
Verizon is the most unreliable. Yet if you have trouble making calls at the cabin jump to WiFi calling, it is pretty reliable for all providers. Messaging always works.

GETTING AROUND Food and Drink

Visit the "Mayberry RFD" of Western North Carolina. Saluda is a gem with may shops, yoga studios, great restaurants and so much more. If you need a little quiet time visit the Saluda public library. A smaller library with a big heart! Smack dab in the middle of town is Thompsons store and grille. The store has local produce and the meat and cheese are of the highest quality. Produce and wine also available. The quintessential small town grocery. Get some local honey!

High Top is just what it says…. high on top of the property! Offering our guests the most privacy of all, High Top sits privately on the mountain but still convenient to other cabins. What a lofty, tranquil view there is from this rhododendron surrounded cabin! This cabin features a covered front porch with a porch swing and rockers and also a side screened porch off the bedroom. These two porches are ideally suited for relaxing and enjoying the wonderful scenery this cabin provides.

High Top sleeps 6 people comfortably with a king and a double sized bed in the downstairs bedroom and 2 twins upstairs. The loft is accessible by built-in ladder. Other features include a fully-equipped kitchen including fridge, oven, coffee maker and microwave, electric heat, air conditioning unit, a bathroom with shower, and ceiling fans in the bedroom and living area. There is a buck stove. Please bring your own firewood and fire-starting materials--paper, kindling, etc. (Liquid fire starters are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.) Ma and Pa’s is larger in size than the others has central heat and air conditioning, and features a large L-shaped screened porch with extra outdoor seating. From its private perch on the side of the mountain. Ma and Pa’s provides the perfect retreat for a relaxing, peaceful vacation. This cabin sleeps 7-8 comfortably with a king-size bed and a twin bed plus trundles in the downstairs bedroom and has a full, a twin, and a twin sleeper sofa in the loft. The loft is accessible by a wide staircase in this cabin. Other features include a large fully-equipped kitchen with a full-size oven, fridge, coffee maker, and microwave, a bathroom with shower and heated tile floor, and ceiling fans in each bedroom and living area. Located on the Palmetto Trail. The Palmetto Trail is a popular hiking trail and is easily accessible from the rear of the property. It runs from the coast near Charleston, South Carolina to the foothills of Walhalla.

Being on the edge of this undeveloped land, and very few neighbors, allows many wild animals to occasionally wander to the property. Keep an eye out for wild turkey, and deer and more wildlife after dark sometimes pass by.

One of the fabulous neighbors is the Greenville Watershed, 30 thousand acres of pristine, protected land. You might enjoy hiking or biking through the Watershed with all its 30 miles of scenery and curving roads.

As you enter the driveway up to the cottage take in the lush green lawns and the beautiful nature that surrounds your getaway retreat home.

You'll enjoy the one level living space, open with cathedral ceilings. Plenty of bright lights with dimmers and fans make this home a genuine treat to relax in after a day out on the mountain trails.

Each room has a ceiling fan, that turns on /off on the wall.

The front and back door lights are on sensors, they automatically come on at dusk and stay on for the night. They may be turned off at the wall switch near each door.

The Cottage space-

The open area includes plenty of space for gathering, a kitchen fully equipped with the upscale appliances and lovely padded breakfast bar chairs to gather for your dining pleasure.

The primary bedroom #1 offers brand new King bed, all cotton linens and plenty of pillows and comforters. The ensuite spa-like bath includes double sink, granite tops and over-sized walk in shower with window to take in the sunshine as you shower.

Bedroom #2 also offers a King Bed and full bath ensuite.

The 1/2 bath in the hallway is convenient for all guests use.

Step out onto the glorious wrap around deck overlooking the green lawn in front and the surrounding trees in every direction.

Swing on the 2 person deck swing as you take in the fresh mountain air, the sounds of birds and beautiful view of nature all around.

Enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine at the table on deck at the other end...again, with lovely views and peace and quiet in this country setting.

Take a short 3 mile paved drive into town of Saluda to enjoy the unique shoppes, restaurants and coffee shops and mini market for last minute groceries needed.

Details for the Palmetto Trail - Saluda Mountain Passage. Step onto the trails from your cottage! Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 5 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

Take in a Friday night horse show and dine at the nearby Tryon International Equestrian Center is a short 21 mile drive from the cottage.

Saluda is such a cool, cute town. So small, there is no stoplight!

The town has a wonderful small grocery store, Thompson's. Be sure to check out the butcher in the back. The store has pretty much anything you might need, even pre-made soups and entrees in the freezer.

Mewdlic's is a great wine store and is next door the the Wildflour Bakery. The Wildflour Bakery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and does pizza on Wed. and Fridays!

Dining out also includes the Purple Onion, The Saluda Mexican Grill, and the Green River Eddy's Tap Room & BBQ.

Start your day at Wakey Monkey for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and smoothies. Located close to the Saluda Visitor Center. Stop by for local events and more on best places to explore during your stay.

This Glamping Tent does NOT have a private bathroom or running water, however it is equipped with a dedicated fresh water faucet and is located within a short walking distance of our beautiful shower house.

Located within Wilderness Cove Campground directly off Green River Cove Road in Saluda, North Carolina. Our friendly onsite staff will welcome you to the site and provide you with a check-in packet to gain access. If you're arriving late, please message us in advance so we can make arrangements to leave a late arrival check-in packet for you.
