It is quiet, calm and an tranquil. Also, the animals were so much fun - Burrito the sweet donkey was my favorite (the alpacas, horses, other donkeys and cats were all an absolute treat too)! The view of Pikes Peak was beautiful, the stars at night were lovely and the property was the ideal place to relax. We just appreciated everything from coffee on the patio, watching birds from the hammock and even playing tether ball! It's not around the corner from too much - but there is a great little restaurant in Elbert that we enjoyed! Being away from it all is part of this ranch's charm though! It's still close enough to take trips into CO Springs or the surrounding area for sightseeing & events. I would recommend this in a heartbeat and hope to return on our next trip to CO! Our boys were big fans of the 75 in TV when we would snuggle in for the night watching movies & enjoying the warmth from the pot belly fireplace nearby. Can’t forget to mention the beautiful horses & birds, silly goats & sweet minis nearby, we also friended the neighbors & their beautiful horses as well. I could literally go on forever. We honestly truly enjoyed ourselves here & highly recommend this phenomenal place! It’s the perfect vacation retreat away from home! Park in our driveway, come through a separate entrance and you are suddenly in a quiet and cozy downstairs apartment with an aqua beach theme! The first bedroom you come to was painted by my daughter years ago for her younger brothers. It depicts an underwater aquarium with colorful fish, sharks, and a turtle. Some of it glows in the dark! The nautical theme was later carried throughout the apartment.
We call it The Beach House. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with towels and soap/ shampoo, a large dining table, a few appliances for cooking, a fridge, and a futon that folds out into a bed. The second bedroom has a bunk bed and twin bed, and things for kids—toys, books, and games.
You are welcome to wander around the property and visit with goats and chickens, say hi to Zoey the dog, and Smokey the cat. If it’s summer you can enjoy my summer garden. I will gladly give you a tour and show you what I’m growing, and how I manage my organic garden, how I’ve built the soil, and how I avoid tilling the ground by using pine mulch.

Tucked among a smattering of trees, this home enjoys a refreshing, woodsy feel, but it’s poised upon a gentle hill, affording glorious, sweeping views of the mountains and the surrounding open range. The home was built to make the most of its dramatic views with a wide wooden deck wrapping around all four sides of the dwelling.

Designed in a common mountain house style, the primary living space is situated on the second (deck) level. Climb a set of exterior stairs or use a convenient ramp to reach the deck and your front door. You’ll find a three-car garage on the ground floor, as well as plentiful outdoor parking. Stepping through the main entrance, you’ll appreciate the open concept great room that provides an ideal environment for creating quality “together” time. A stylish, cozy seating area is centered around a fireplace that is ornamental only, with casual but sumptuous seating you’ll love sinking into after a day of activity. A row of floor-to-ceiling windows lines the back wall and incorporates a sliding glass door to the deck with outdoor seating and a grill. A large corner-mounted TV is visible throughout the space, including a casual dining area with seating for 4 and a large, open kitchen with a long breakfast counter for 4.

A suite of stainless steel appliances includes a full-size range, French door refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, plus a toaster, coffee maker, and chef’s knives. A generous island with a built-in sink supplements counter space. Adjacent to the kitchen you’ll find a separate, more formal dining area with seating for 6. Rounding out this level, you’ll find a laundry room with full-size washer and dryer, plus two bedrooms and two baths. The larger bedroom includes a king bed, fireplace that is ornamental only, and sliding doors to the deck. A luxurious en suite bath provides a soaking tub with water jets, two sink vanities, a shower stall, and a toilet tucked discreetly behind its own door. A cheerful second bedroom includes a queen bed and a desk. A separate bathroom includes a tub/shower combo.

Upstairs, a spacious, airy TV room under a peaked ceiling includes a huge, inviting L-shaped sofa. Two additional seating nooks branch off of this space, each providing bright, windowed areas to talk or read – and one with a telescope! An office space includes an executive desk. This level also includes a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a bathroom with a shower/tub combo.

On the ground-floor level, you’ll find even more living space. A spacious room with a ping-pong table includes sliding glass doors that lead to the outdoors. You’ll also find one bathroom with shower/tub combo, and a bedroom with a queen bed and large mirrored closet.

Guest Access:
🏠 We highly recommend checking in before sunset. The area is very dark and it can be difficult to navigate the dirt roads. Please let us know what time you'll be checking in so we can make sure you arrive safely. You will have access to the entire home and all the wonderful amenities the home comes with! The barn on the property is off limits.

🚗 Parking
We highly recommend a 4X4 or AWD vehicle with higher clearance to handle the bumpy dirt roads, especially during inclement weather. Even though it is a 3 car garage it only has room for 2 cars to fully pull inside. There is room to park up to 4 cars in the spacious driveway.

🕓 Early Check-in Requests
We cannot guarantee an early check-in than 4pm as we need time to make sure this property is perfect for you before your stay! Please message us on the day of your arrival to see if the property is ready no earlier than 2pm.

🔑 Check-in Process: All guests will need to complete our secure, online ID Verification process to receive the door code and check-in instructions. Similar to hotels requiring photo ID upon check-in, we ask that guests provide a copy of their Government Issued ID, matching selfie and credit card to verify identity. This is used to prevent fraudulent reservations, identity verification and for the safety of all guests and homes. We take data security very seriously. The Neighborhood:
This home is situated in Peyton, Colorado, a peaceful, rural area about 45 minutes east of Colorado Springs and 90 minutes southeast of Denver. It’s characterized by varied terrain favored by horse ranchers. A notable nearby site is the Paint Mines Interpretive Park, consisting of 750 acres and 4 miles of trails that rise to an elevation of over 500 feet. It’s most famous for its unique and colorful geological stone and clay formations. Homestead Ranch Regional Park, also nearby, offers hiking trails and a playground. It’s easy to plot adventures a little farther afield from this restful spot in Peyton.

There are more potential daytrips to popular destinations than you’ll probably have time for. Colorado Springs and its environs offer no shortage of entertainments for every personality, whether you’re interested in culture and the arts, outdoor adventures like fishing, rafting, hunting and ziplining, or once-in-a-lifetime glimpses of our majestic natural world like the Garden of the Gods or Pike’s Peak. In the immediate area, you’ll find supermarkets and casual dining options in nearby Calhan (a 15-minute drive) and Falcon (23 minutes). This home provides the perfect balance of restful quietude and an endless menu of daytrips when you want them.

Getting Around:
This is in a rural area with bumpy dirt roads. We do strongly recommend a 4X4 or AWD vehicle with a higher clearance, especially during inclement weather.

- "Bringing your adult children and their families all together in one place can be a challenge. This spacious home allowed everyone to have their own space, including bathrooms! We never felt cramped! The kitchen was adequately stocked and even included spices to cook with. The large pantry was great for storing all our food/snacks. Wonderful memories were made! The large wrap around deck was a great place to hang out and play games. The only downside was the rugged road to the property. Given the remote location and the rains, we understood some things are just out of your control."

- "I can’t say enough good things about the entire property. To start the location and surroundings are stunning of course. Out your front door you can see beautiful mountain tops, out the back porch daily deer grazing in the yard and fields upon. The owners were beyond helpful, friendly, and so easy to work with! Exactly what you want in an owner. The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very home-y. By far the most well stocked kitchen we’ve ever stayed at and we travel and stay in homes monthly. This has by far exceeded any other homes we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. The pool and hot tub were such a fun treat to enjoy. The deck was a great hangout on those beautiful Colorado nights. We enjoyed walking around the property daily sight seeing and enjoying all the wildlife that surrounds daily. If you are looking for a place to stay with horses what an amazing experience that would be as well. Coming from someone who travels for horse shows for a living, it would be such a great place to bring horses to. So many trail riding opportunities on the property along with nearby state ground. The barn is well setup with stalls and runs attached and paddock opportunities as well. I can’t say enough good things about the entire property. 10/10 will stay every year when we come back to Colorado."

Well equipped industrial type kitchen , laundry room, dart board, bar, board games, popcorn and snow cone machine, pool table, back deck with gas and charcoal barbecues and hot tub. Ample parking for multiple vehicles and RV. Even though the property is 30 Minutes away from town it makes up in the amenities.

The house was really cute, clean & felt really homey. The little private hot tub area was great & the pool table was a lot of fun! It’s a ways away from a lot but so worth it! - "I’ve stayed at a lot of rentals, and this one takes the top spot by far! The pictures simply don’t do justice when it comes to showcasing the space, layout, amenities, and location. Perfect for the entire family! I loved the layout with the kitchen and living room being on the main level- which had a gorgeous master bed and bath, in addition to the laundry room and queen bedroom, plus a guest bathroom. There was a lower level floor with its own huge couch, huge TV, wet-bar with mini-fridge, popcorn maker, and microwave. The foosball table was an unexpected amenity that everyone enjoyed! Another two bedrooms and bathroom were downstairs. Every single bed and couch were beyond comfortable - and so clean!!!The outside areas were unbeatable. Hot tub was perfect! Backyard was so quiet and peaceful. Lots of outside seating areas, from the front porch to the upper level porch, and of course the lower level. The backyard showed an open field that included a large trail for everyone to walk/bike along. Playground was a short walk away. Lastly, I was so impressed by the kitchen. It had all the pots and pans we could need, coffee maker, blender, griddle, nice oven, and even a cappuccino machine!!!Book this place now. You will not regret it. "

- "I reserved a room for my son who was going to be in Colorado Springs for a summer internship. I feel like I hit the jackpot with Laura. I was a little skeptical at first since he would be sharing common spaces with others. But it worked out perfectly. Laura is extremely organized and easy to get along with. She provided a lot of extras that you normally would have to supply yourself. Laura also cooked dinners for her guests periodically and planned fun outings. There is a great workout facility/pool in the the neighborhood that my son had access to as well. I also had piece of mind knowing that Laura was there if my son needed something since he was so far from home (We live in SC). Overall, his stay was great. I would definitely recommend staying at Laura’s house!! Thanks for everything Laura."

We offer private parking conveniently located in front of our garage—just keep about 8 feet to the left of the trash can. It’s best to park facing outward for easy exit, especially during snowstorms or emergencies. Our circular driveway allows for smooth entry and exit, perfect for trailers like horse or travel trailers. Plus, unwind and enjoy our wonderful hot tub for a truly relaxing experience.

We enjoy greeting our guests in person and saying hello, but we also respect everyone`s need for privacy. We`re always happy to recommend the best local restaurants and exciting places to explore. Located NE of Colorado Springs about a half an hour in a secret valley. This season(winter) It will be set up for “dry camping”. Temps can freeze the water system.We have deer on property regularly. Prong horn and elk sometimes across on the other side of the valley. Amazing moon & sunrises. Dark sky for Star gazing easily see satellites pass overhead from the hot tub and shooting stars. Horseshoe area, playground for children and of course access to the HOT TUB! We are a horse neighborhood however we don’t currently have horses only chickens and lamas. Dirt roads in our area still. The Paint Mines are a unique hiking area about 20 minutes east and Homestead Park is great for hiking, fishing, soccer fields, and a large playground with bathrooms open seasonally. Fire pit use is allowed as long is there isn’t a burn ban. Outdoor gas Bbq grill. Outdoor chairs and awning is operational but it is recommended to only use under supervision as winds can pick up quickly and damage it. Usually summer morning use helps keep the rv much cooler. Please retract before departure for the day. Hiking the local dirt roads brings even greater vistas than we have on property. Also fun on mt. bike. This is not for rent to travel with, but to stay on site.

Welcome to this enchanting cottage in the Colorado foothills. Located 30 minutes outside Colorado Springs and the Air Force Academy. This cozy retreat offers an all-electric cottage with one bedroom, one bath, Wi-Fi, 2 smart TV's in living room and bedroom, a washing machine / dryer, iron, heating / AC, hair dryer, towels, shampoo, soap, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, silverware, pots and pans.

The cottage has been remodeled using reclaim wood from the property. Log wood siding from the original ranch house, planks, flooring, cabinet doors. The black wood has been preserved using the Japanese technique of Shou sugi ban giving the wood a unique texture.

Outdoors enjoy a pergola with a fire pit, to the side of the cottage is a meadow full of native grasses and wildflowers. Beautifully landscaped with fruit trees and native grasses. Built to capture and preserve water.
