Type of Cooling for the Home
Portable/Window units are best kept at 68 degrees or above. Due to the lack of humidity in the area if the thermostat is lowered below 68 degrees it is possible that it can freeze the unit if it is working too hard. Unfortunately, it will take 24 hours for the unit to defrost before an HVAC specialist can service it. Our evenings are generally cool in the summertime, simply opening the windows will provide extra natural coolness.

The Pines Ranch is 2233sf and sits on a private 4+ acre wooded property in the Colorado Springs Black Forest area. It's close to restaurants, shopping, and fairly close to tourist attractions. The living room has a TV, fireplace and fast wifi. The large garden level basement features foosball, air hockey, a bar, and 10’ movie screen. In the backyard, enjoy a 6-person hot tub, propane fire pit, dining, a herd of deer that frequent the property and, in Spring, a fox and kits playing.

The house is fully furnished and each room is unique. It features 1 King, 3 Queens, 2 Twins, and 2 Full-Size folding mattresses. There' is a portable air conditioner in the family room and primary bedroom (during the Summer months) and overhead fans in the bedrooms to keep it comfortable. The private property is huge and you will not have to share it with anyone else! You are in Colorado Springs (minutes from restaurants and stores), but the peaceful forest makes you feel far from the city.

You may notice that the cleaning fee we charge is lower than similar listings. We don't make money on fees; in fact, we lose money on every cleaning because we pay our cleaners more than we charge. As owners who also manage, we are proud of our house so we inspect and sign off on every cleaning before you arrive. Our crew averages 8 man hours on every cleaning. The spa is serviced and sanitized between every booking. Everything is sterilized, including appliances, door knobs, sinks, toilets, showers, tables and countertops. Carpets are vacuumed and hardwood floors are mopped. All bedding and pillows are washed. We believe this focus on cleanliness is what separates us from hotels and other listings.

Please note that, while we provide a highchair 2 pack n plays, a baby gate, and toys, this space has not been child-proofed. The 4-acre yard is not mowed or manicured so wildlife can thrive. And there is an outdoor security camera above the garage facing the driveway. We are animal lovers, but very allergic so we have a strict no pet policy and appreciate your understanding. This also keeps the ranch sparkling.

We are close to Wedgewood Weddings, the Air Force Academy and much more. Come put your feet up at our cozy cabin in the woods.

If you need more space, we also rent the attached studio next door. The fully furnished studio with kitchen and laundry facility is connected to the cabin via communicating doors, which are permanently locked unless you request to rent both units!

This fully updated, fully furnished, quiet cottage is located in the Black Forest in Colorado Springs and just a couple of miles from great hiking and biking at the Pinery and Section 16 Trail. It sits back on the lot to insure privacy and a quiet stay. The property is surrounded by fences, a well lit sidewalk, and motion sensors, which allow for a secure, safe stay. We do allow pets (with pre-approval) and even have goats and chickens for you to watch from the comfort of your private deck.

The living area has a comfortable couch that converts to a full size bed for any extra guests or kiddos. You have a tv with all the latest streaming. The primary bedroom is quite large, with a huge window that invites the forest views right in. There is a smart tv, full size washer and dryer and a bathroom with shower and tub combo. This cottage truly has everything you need and nothing you don't. The cottage rests on 8 acres of lush forest next to our main house. We are minutes from some of the best trails Colorado Springs has to offer for mountain biking and hiking. Pop down to Black Forest Rd for some delicious coffee and breakfast at R&R (we love their breakfast sammiches) or get dressed for dinner and head over to The Black Forest Bistro for an award winning dinner.

Management was responsive to questions and recommendations for restaurants and things to do nearby was provided at the cabin. One suggestion, we didn’t receive the required agreement to sign until we were enroute to the cabin. Seems like this could have been handled in advance. The fenced back patio is quite nice and I appreciated the black forest wood writing desk. When they say the café is steps away, they literally mean steps, and the food is terrific. There’s also a post office with General store items across the street as well as a small winery with tastings. Easy access to Northeast Colorado Springs and everything it offers. The views are incredible. Do note that it feels fairly secluded at night. Personally, I enjoyed that, but if it’s a thing that makes you nervous, do be aware."

- "Surprisingly nice, clean and convenient to Colorado Springs activities. Cabin may be small but didn’t feel that way. Warm and comfortable. Hosts very accommodating. This wonderful 1990's Log cabin is 700 sq ft suite on 2nd level of log cabin. 2 bedrooms with 1 queen bedroom, and a full bed in 2nd bedroom, living room with fireplce. Full bath and full kitchen. Can sleep a family of 4 or can be booked with Independence Cabin downstairs as a 2 story guest house that sleeps 6.

This spilt level 1,000 sq ft cozy log cabin has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and a full kitchen. It can sleep up to 7 people, although it can be booked with Cascade Cabin to sleep 9. It has a large downstairs family room, with a large TV. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, and the second bedroom has bunk beds for the kids!
