The air conditioner was not even close to strong enough so the room stayed hot and smelled musty like a cabin on a lake. There were bugs mashed into the carpet as well. We were given one set of towels for a 5 day stay and they never cane to change any sheets or supply clean towels.The neighborhood was old and the landscaping was unkept. We are an older couple and did not feel safe. We called to complain and ask to cancel but instead they told us that they get so many wonder praises. They refused any sort of refund and wouldn’t let us cancel. Im sure they will deny all this but we are not just being picky and I wouldn't ever take this much time to leave a review if the stay wasn’t as bad as I am describing. Do not stay here unless you have exhaustedk any and all options and even then a tent at a homeless camp would be better."

Front and back yard with pool. 4 bedroom and 2 bathroom with dining and living room and a nice kitchen and two car parking on the driveway and on the street you can find free parking. The garage is a small studio and its has his own entry from outside. And the garage is not part of the Airbnb rental.

Firepit wood is available for $10 per bundle (1 bundle lasting one night). Please request in advance and let us know how many bundles you would like, and we’ll have them ready for your arrival after payment through the app. You’re welcome to bring your own if preferred.

No Refrigerator: A spacious cooler is available in the outdoor kitchen—just bring your own ice. Plus, San Diego’s vibrant restaurant scene offers endless dining options if you’d rather eat out, and many of our guests love the convenience of Uber Eats/Doordash for a cozy meal in.

The loft is tucked away in a secluded canyon, surrounded by rolling hills and the soothing sounds of nature. In the mornings, you may hear the gentle coos of California Quail, spot a swift-footed roadrunner, or catch the nighttime calls of nearby coyotes. Many local guests say it feels like they've escaped San Diego entirely—yet it's city lights are visible from your private back deck and downtown is just a short drive away.
Outdoor Hot Soaking Tub — Each soak starts with a fresh tub of water, ensuring a clean, personalized experience every time. You control the water temperature with hot and cold settings, just like a regular tub, allowing you to enjoy a steamy soak or a refreshing cold plunge if you prefer. This setup is far more sanitary than a traditional hot tub, which reuses the same water.
Though technically off-grid, the loft is designed with comfort in mind. The propane tankless water heater provides unlimited hot water for both the tub and shower, while a mini-split A/C and heating unit provide full temperature control for a perfectly cozy stay.
Two 110-volt outlets are available for essentials like a laptop, cellphone charger, or curling iron and the computer desk includes one USB port and two USB-C charging ports for your convenience.

The loft is located 1/4 mile from the property's front gate, accessible via a steep gravel driveway. 4-Wheel Drive Vehicles: If you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, you can drive down the gravel road directly to the loft and park beside the tiny home. Non-4-Wheel Drive Vehicles: If your vehicle isn’t 4-wheel drive or you’re uncertain about navigating the steep gravel road, a designated parking space is available at the top of the canyon, with a golf cart provided for transport to the Loft. To avoid costly towing expenses and lost vacation time, please use the golf cart if your vehicle isn’t 4-wheel drive. The golf cart is simple to operate (instructions included), perfect for transporting luggage, and adds a fun start to your vacation! While the walk down to the tiny home is scenic, it’s quite long and strenuous on foot. Feel free to reach out with any questions before booking!

There are several reasons why:
1. We live on a canyon that has a VERY active coyote presence - in fact you will almost certainly see them or hear them during your stay - they are just part of our eco-system here in California. However, pets HAVE been lost here to coyotes - they are extremely smart and fast. There is NO fencing between your Airbnb and the canyon where the coyotes live and hunt other animals. While they pose very little threat to humans, coyotes are known for snatching pets they see as prey from right in front of their owners, and unfortunately this is not an exaggeration by any means.
2. Guests have noted allergies that are compromised by pet dander/hair.
3. We own a small hobby farm. Our animals are easily scared by other peoples pets and it will cause problems. We love our farm pets and they deserve an environment in which they are not in fear of other animals, that they instinctively react to as predators.

We have dedicated assigned parking that is signed for "Quail Canyon". You will park in this space if you do not have 4 wheel drive. A golf cart will be provided for your transport to/from the loft to your vehicle. Instructions are located on the golf cart. If you need any help or have any questions, just let us know and we are always ready to help! If you plan to use Uber or Lyft, that is fine, they are available here.
Firepit wood is available for $8 per bundle (1 bundle lasting one night). Please request in advance and let us know how many bundles you would like, and we’ll have them ready for your arrival after payment through the app. You’re welcome to bring your own if preferred.

Traditional Hot Tubs reuse the same water over & over -yuk! Our Hot Soaking Tub begins with a FRESH tub of water that you control the temperature of, just like a regular tub! The Airstream's amazing view is due to it being perched on the side of a canyon. If you have a 4-WHEEL drive vehicle, you can make the drive down the gravel driveway, into the canyon and park directly in front of the Airstream. If you have a REGULAR vehicle (without 4-wheel drive), you will need to park in the designated & signed parking spot at the TOP of the canyon and transfer to a golf cart that we provide for transport down to the Airstream. ***Please note that the driveway is steep, and if you are at all hesitant that your vehicle is not 4-WHEEL drive or you are not confident in your driving skills, it will be better if you park at the TOP and take the golf cart - trust us - it will NOT be fun if your vehicle gets stuck in the canyon, and it will be towed at your expense*** The golf cart is super easy to operate (instructions are provided), great for luggage transport, and really a great & fun way to start your vacation! If you like to hike, we have a hiking trail close to our property. It is called the Dictionary HIll Hiking Trail and takes you to an amazing 360 degree overlook of San Diego, the San Miguel Mountains, Sweetwater Lake and East County San Diego. Really an incredible spot to see fireworks too, if here on a holiday weekend. From our driveway, the hike is 20 min up the mountain (about 35 min roundtrip), it can be rocky, so bring good hiking shoes - but totally worth it to see the views! Uber and Lyft are available here. 1. We live on a canyon that has a VERY active coyote presence - in fact you will almost certainly see them or hear them during your stay - they are just part of our eco-system here in California. However, pets HAVE been lost here to coyotes - they are extremely smart and fast. There is NO fencing between your Airbnb and the canyon where the coyotes live and hunt other animals. While they pose very little threat to humans, coyotes are known for snatching pets they see as prey from right in front of their owners, and unfortunately this is not an exaggeration by any means.
2. Guests have noted allergies that are compromised by pet dander/hair.
3. We own a small hobby farm. Our animals are easily scared by other peoples pets and it will cause problems. We love our farm pets and they deserve an environment in which they are not in fear of other animals, that they instinctively react to as predators.

We do not allow the cat we own to enter the guesthouse, please do not allow her inside.
If house rules are violated, Airbnb will cancel your reservation immediately without a refund. We want to avoid this situation, and we’re sure you do too. Although the property is surrounded by acres of open canyon, we do have neighbors, and we also live in the main house. We kindly ask that you respect everyone’s right to a peaceful and quiet environment.

Since this is a small hobby farm and our home is located on the same property, you may see us around tending to the animals or working in the garden. Feel free to say hello and learn more about what makes this place special—we love sharing it with our guests! However, we completely respect your privacy if you prefer a more secluded stay.
