We were given one set of towels for a 5 day stay and they never cane to change any sheets or supply clean towels.The neighborhood was old and the landscaping was unkept. We are an older couple and did not feel safe. We called to complain and ask to cancel but instead they told us that they get so many wonder praises. They refused any sort of refund and wouldn’t let us cancel. Im sure they will deny all this but we are not just being picky and I wouldn't ever take this much time to leave a review if the stay wasn’t as bad as I am describing. Do not stay here unless you have exhaustedk any and all options and even then a tent at a homeless camp would be better."

• Are pets allowed? Yes, pets are welcome! Let us know if you have special requests.

• What’s the check-in process? Self-check-in via lockbox or keypad. Instructions are sent at noon on your check-in day.

• Is night-time or same-day check-in allowed? Yes. Even when you book at 10 PM, we will automatically send you check-in instructions seconds after your booking.

• Can I have guests come over? Yes, please update your guest count and keep activities low noise. Message us if the guest count is over the platform limit. We can still allow extra guests for a small fee. Each visitor (a non-overnight guest) is counted as half a guest.

• How’s the home cleaned? Cleaned with natural products. Because our family cleans our home, we hope guests treat our home like their own.

• Security devices?
One security camera: Front door only. Record the activities of the pathway from the driveway to the front door 24/7 to protect the guests and the home.

One noise decibel monitor: Outside the house. The Minute device only measures the noise level 24/7 to prevent prolonged noise. It doesn't record any audio.

Please Park your car on the street in front of the house. Once you park your car, you can see the rough stone pathway on the left side of the house and you will see the wooden gate, there is a small wooden gate on the right side attached to the large gate, you can open that gate and get in to the back yard, you will see a wooden porch and the door on the right to get in to your unit.

Although only a minute's drive to the 94 and 125 hwys, the space feels wonderfully secluded because it's nestled on the other side of Hartzel Hill. This provides super easy access to the city of San Diego and Tijuana and anywhere else in the area. There are also excellent amenities in the immediate neighborhood. Behind the property is beautiful and renovated Lamar County park. Cali Comfort BBQ is an amazing local bbq joint and bar. One of my favorite markets is around the corner called Valley Farms. They have an awesome beer selection including (often) Pliny the Elder. Continue down Broadway for a stretch of new restaurants and breweries. My favorite is Giardino for great pasta, pizza, and atmosphere. Try the prosciutto Fig flatbread, it will change your life. Nearby on Spring street there's the Craft Kitchen, which has some of the best craft beer on tap, also make a mean burger and specialize in fish tacos and other interesting fare (also often have Pliny the Elder on tap;). And further up Spring Street is downtown La Mesa/Main Street. So much to do there, but my all time favorite is Farmer's Kitchen, which is great for brunch or honestly any meal. Beau Beau also has an amazing location on Main Street with one of the best outdoor seating area I've ever experienced . I could go on. You should just come and find out for yourself!

You'll have exclusive access to the private apartment: 2 bedrooms kitchen, living room and full bathroom. There is a huge backyard with a firepit and a nice patio with string lights that gives it an old world piazza feel at night.
There is a caretaker unit that shares access to the backyard. So they can perform regular maintenance of the grounds and many thoughtfully constructed native plant gardens.

Other things to note
We are a quiet community. After 9pm any additional guests (not on the reservation) are required to leave the premises. And noise must be kept to a minimum. Also, please note that in the summer months we do provide an Air Conditioner, however it is a portable window unit in the main living area. It is typically sufficient for the more mild San Diego climate, but please note that there is no central air conditioning currently available.

-Parking in Downtown San Diego: Parking in downtown San Diego can be challenging. Metered street parking is available in the area, as well as nearby paid parking structures. I offer one secured parking spot at a rate of $30 per night. Additionally, the area is well-connected by short walks or affordable Uber rides.

-Security Measures: My apartment is equipped with a Ring Camera doorbell located in the hallway, overseeing the entrance door. Please note that only guests included in the booking are permitted within the apartment, and there are no cameras in any other part of the apartment.
