Located in charming Leucadia (a section of Encinitas, California), this very private vacation rental consists of a living room with comfortable queen-sized sofa sleeper and a closet, a nicely appointed bedroom and a beautiful bathroom, plus outdoor living areas and an OUTDOOR kitchen that have features our guests love.

From the living room, there are French doors that open to the only kitchen, which is OUTDOORS. There is also a door to a hallway that separates the living room, the bedroom and the bathroom, so both areas have complete privacy. The bedroom has French doors that open to the outdoor kitchen, too, so both the kitchen and living room with sofa bed can be separately accessed to and from the outdoor living and kitchen areas.

The outdoor kitchen is mostly "covered." This kitchen is well-equipped for almost any kind of cooking method: frying, baking, broiling, grilling, microwaving, crock-potting or doing things stovetop.

The outdoor, flagstone living area is bordered by flowers and artificial grass, frequented by hummingbirds and has an outdoor fireplace with hearth.

Your spaces are part of a residence and have a separate entrance. There are no stairs, except for the ones to your ocean-view deck. It is private and apart from the owners' quarters.

Enjoy warming around, lounging and dining by the fireplace with a outdoor wicker sectional and cushions. Or go up to your ocean-view deck and enjoy the sunset, work at the table or read a book. The kitchen counter area is all under cover, as is the granite breakfast bar that runs parallel to it. Dice at the counter, pour something from the refrigerator, scoop something from the freezer and serve at the bar. (Also next to the kitchen, there is a warm water rinse-off shower for after the beach!)

PETS ARE ALLOWED BUT MUST BE WELL-BEHAVED. If they have separation anxiety which results in howling, barking, chewing, wetting, etc they cannot be left alone for more than one half hour. Thank you!

This quiet street has easy freeway access, walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants and shops. Several beach outlets available and within walking distance. This is a perfect place to begin and end a day if you venture out to do and see all that the San Diego area has to offer. They are both very conscientious about giving their guests privacy. We hardly saw them unless we needed something and then they were immediately available. The apartment is small but the space is efficient. There was plenty of storage space for our things (2 large closets and lots of empty drawers). I appreciated that the bathroom was roomy with a nice shower/tub combo and lots of counter space. The outdoor space is big enough to have friends over and was our favorite place to hang out with our pets. The outdoor kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. It was a treat to have access to the extra upstairs balcony with a dining table for 4 and a fantastic view of the sunsets. A friend came to stay with us for a weekend and said that the pull out sofa was very comfortable. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay with great access to two surf beaches we highly recommend Bob and Sheryl's place."

Our wonderful, 'Hagan's Hideaway' is beautifully decorated with custom, comfortable furnishings. Although attached (by a shared wall) to a custom home, our studio is very private with it's own entrance and private patio, perfect for, "SOCIAL ISOLATING". Our studio has a queen size Tempur-Pedic mattress, full bath with tub and kitchenette. It also has a fully enclosed patio, for your private outdoor enjoyment.

The small village of Encinitas has many great shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Our studio is just two houses from the water with wonderful beaches that are a short walk away. There is opportunity for great surfing, swimming, and stretches of beach for beach combing and long walks. The quiet neighborhood beach, 'Stonesteps' is 1 block to the north and the active 'Moonlight Beach' is 3 blocks to the south with volleyball courts, beach rentals and a snack bar.

- "Great spot for a large group. Well appointed property." - "This property was very much as advertised. Clearly, the owners made every effort to be their guests. Everything from thoughtful welcome gifts to on-site bicycles, helmets, beach chairs, beach toys etc. was available onsite. Each unit was appointed beautifully, providing a very relaxing stay. In fact, we probably stayed at the property much more time than we usually would on vacation because it was so relaxing just being there. We rented all three available condos and upon arrival discovered that a fourth condo in the rear of the property is both private and occupied by the property caretakers. We found them observant but not intrusive during our stay, though they were clearly interested in whether we were respecting the property as per the rental agreement. Bottom line, this was probably one of the top properties we’ve ever contracted for a short stay and we would definitely recommend it to others. Just know that although there are four parking spaces in front of the property, only three are available to guests; one for each condo. That caused us a last minute scramble when we arrived because we had already worked out that there would be plenty of parking for our four cars, not knowing one was reserved for the caretakers. In the end, it wasn’t a big deal because we found nearby street parking when necessary."

You have a private entrance to a nice bedroom with a private full bath and a barn door separating the room and bathroom. The room has french doors to the deck facing the backyard. The deck has a nice seating area to enjoy. Hardwood floors are in the bedroom with Venetian Plaster on the walls.

Spacious 1 bedroom apartment ( max 2 guest including children of any age per city permitting) located in the center of the Historic 101 District of Downtown Encinitas. Famous Swamis Beach is a 7 min walk and Moonlight Beach a 10 min walk in the other direction. Within a 2 minute walk guest are in the center of Downtown Encinitas, where they will find restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, surf shops, yoga studios, galleries, boutiques, spas & salons - even the famous historic La Paloma movie theater. The Encinitas train and Bus stations are also only a 8-minute walk. The train runs to Downtown San Diego, Old Town and other attractions providing a great way to beat the traffic. It's the perfect location for beach-going, surfing or any other water sports, running, biking and the Encinitas nightlife.
The beautiful Encinitas Library with spectacular ocean views is a 5-min walk. The Del Mar Race Track/Fairgrounds is located just 5 miles South and the World famous Torrey Pines Golf/State Park with beautiful hiking trails is just 8 miles away.

We are currently raising two beautiful Leonbergers upstairs. They will be in the backyard and upstairs and even though they rarely bark, they will play together once in a while and run around, which can be audible in the downstairs rental unit.
Otherwise the dogs have no access to the rental unit.
Upstairs wood floors also cause audible noise.
There are train tracks that run along the coast and guests will occasionally hear train horns during their stay. This is something that can't be avoided anywhere in the area if you want to stay close to the coast.

The entire space is approximately 750 sq ft and is closed off from the main house by an added wall in the hallway.
