The studio is bright and airy; windows and skylights provide lots of natural light but black out shades provide darkness when you want to sleep in. We've tried to provide everything we like in a home-away-from home! The modern kitchen has what's generally needed to prepare, cook and store food, but if there's an additional appliance you like to use, we're happy to lend it. The furnishings are contemporary, and we're told that the bed and bath linens are especially comfy. Washer and dryer are on property. Store your golf clubs, bike or surf/paddle board in the secure garage. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella are provided, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off sand. Off-street driveway parking spot is included.

The studio is located above our detached garage. You access it by entering our shared, enclosed courtyard, then have one flight of stairs to your front door and private deck. Motion detector lights illuminate your way after dark.

The best NY pizza west of New York is 5 minutes away by foot. 5 good restaurants within walking distance. Beach is also walking distance or you can park using the hosts Annual Pass at no charge. The lower level also includes the 3rd bedroom, just around the corner from the junior suite,furnished with a twin-over-full bunkbed plus a twin pull-out trundle below. This room comes witha mirrored closet and sliding door access to the lower patio.
Separating the upper and lower bedroom levels is the mid-level main living space. The open floor plan will greet you as soon as you step in from the attached 2 car garage... or the French double door entry from the driveway. Welcoming you first is a sky-lit "sand-room" (we don't have mudrooms in Southern California... this is where you kick off your flip flops and de-sand your feet). The sand-room offers an area to hang up your sun hats, beach towels and a light jacket (which you might need with the nighttime cool coastal breeze). From there, you'll step into the galley kitchen offering gas stove-top, electric oven, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, microwave hood, coffee machine, French press, toaster, glassware, stemware, utensils and plates (service for 8). There is also a supply of plastic ware for our much younger guests.
From the kitchen, you'll walk into a coastal inspired custom-designed dining area with a built-in banquette along a sparkling white shiplap wall, a 72-inch pecan wood dining table custom-made by a local San Diego artist. Add in 4 white industrial galvanized steel stools and hand-crafted/Minnesota made pendant lights overhead, it is urban chic meets casual coastal.
Across from the dining area is a spacious family room, with beautiful red oak flooring throughout. On cooler nights, you can enjoy the newly updated, environmentally friendly electric faux fireplacewith a reclaimed wood mantel by Vintage Timberworks in Temecula. Over the fireplace is a 55-inch UHD TV with basic cable and wireless capability for guests to enjoy music from their own Pandora playlists. The family room is furnished with an oversized 130"x80" sectional and a matching ottoman/coffee table, all made in North Carolina. Surrounding the ottoman are 2 signature swivel Crest chairs from Room and Board, also made in North Carolina. We carefully designed the seating area in the family room for relaxation, conversation and even some roundsof old fashioned board games.
Rounding out the mid-level living space is another balcony with a partial view of the ocean and Torrey Pines State Reserve. You'll also findan updated powder room with limestone inspired Italian porcelain tile flooring. Just outside the powder room isthe wood staircase leading up to the master suite retreat or down to both the junior suite and the 3rd bedroom. Another full bathroom with shower sitsjust outside the bunkbed room.
Overall, our Del Mar Beach Getaway offers comfortable accommodations for up to 6 people. There's a washer/dryer for use during your stay, along with boogie boards, Coolers, beach toys, beach umbrella and a wagon for yourbeach outings! Please just return them when you're done with your day at the beach.
If you would like to stock up before arriving, we suggest dropping by Costco to load up for the week. We also have a wireless printer that guests are welcome to use in case you need to conduct business or print out boarding passes.
Within a 5 minute walk from the townhouse complex are several quintessential Southern California restaurants... Roberto's Mexican Food for some mouthwatering carne asada tacos or burritos; Bird Rock Coffee Roaster to start your day; Buonasera New York Pizzeria offers pizza by the slice; West End Bar & Kitchen offering contemporary American cuisine; Sea Salt servesa fabulous happy hour and upscale seafood dishes; The Goat Sports Hall has plenty ofpub food and 13 TVs for sports enthusiasts.
If you'd like to venture beyond these walking distance restaurants, within a few minutes by car, you'll be in downtown Del Mar with a wonderful selection of highly rated ocean view restaurants. You'll findeverything from upscale shopping to take-out pizza and gourmet sandwich shops. Also within a 5 minute drive is the Del Mar Heights neighborhood where locals go for their grocery stores, drug stores, coffee and ice cream shops and additional dining options. Downtown La Jolla and the famous La Jolla shoreline is just a 10 milesaway.

Sea Forest is thoughtfully designed with a easy going boho theme, and bespoke furnishing. This home has everything you need to enjoy time with your family or get a little work done. You’ll have access to the pool, hot-tub, and tennis courts. In addition, this home is fully furnished with pots, pans, and dishes to feel fully at home. There are two smart tvs that will give you access to Spectrum TV, Disney+, ESPN, Hulu and Netflix. This home also has high speed networking for remote work. The 6 person dining space makes it easy to have family gatherings. There is also a table with bar stools for outdoor eating and a seating space on the patio. There is guest access to the pool, hot tub, sauna and tennis courts. There is an external bbq and eating area next to the pool. I am happy with whatever they prefer! Del Mar is a beach town in San Diego County, California, located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Established in 1885 as a seaside resort, the city incorporated in 1959. The Del Mar Horse Races are hosted on the Del Mar racetrack every summer. About a block away are the bluffs. Downtown shopping, including eating and coffee, and the beach is less than a mile away. I do recommend a car for the area. Though not required, you will need to do a significant bit of walking for groceries.

If you want time away from the heat in summer, or the cold in winter, this is your place!"
