Drive 2 miles north to the seaside village of Del Mar or hop on the I-5 or 56 freeways to easily access within minutes all that beautiful San Diego has to offer.

The studio is bright and airy; windows and skylights provide lots of natural light but black out shades provide darkness when you want to sleep in. We've tried to provide everything we like in a home-away-from home! The modern kitchen has what's generally needed to prepare, cook and store food, but if there's an additional appliance you like to use, we're happy to lend it. The furnishings are contemporary, and we're told that the bed and bath linens are especially comfy. Washer and dryer are on property. Store your golf clubs, bike or surf/paddle board in the secure garage. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella are provided, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off sand. Off-street driveway parking spot is included.

The studio is located above our detached garage. You access it by entering our shared, enclosed courtyard, then have one flight of stairs to your front door and private deck. Motion detector lights illuminate your way after dark.

The best NY pizza west of New York is 5 minutes away by foot. 5 good restaurants within walking distance. Beach is also walking distance or you can park using the hosts Annual Pass at no charge. The lower level also includes the 3rd bedroom, just around the corner from the junior suite,furnished with a twin-over-full bunkbed plus a twin pull-out trundle below. This room comes witha mirrored closet and sliding door access to the lower patio.
Separating the upper and lower bedroom levels is the mid-level main living space. The open floor plan will greet you as soon as you step in from the attached 2 car garage... or the French double door entry from the driveway. Welcoming you first is a sky-lit "sand-room" (we don't have mudrooms in Southern California... this is where you kick off your flip flops and de-sand your feet). The sand-room offers an area to hang up your sun hats, beach towels and a light jacket (which you might need with the nighttime cool coastal breeze). From there, you'll step into the galley kitchen offering gas stove-top, electric oven, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, microwave hood, coffee machine, French press, toaster, glassware, stemware, utensils and plates (service for 8). There is also a supply of plastic ware for our much younger guests.
From the kitchen, you'll walk into a coastal inspired custom-designed dining area with a built-in banquette along a sparkling white shiplap wall, a 72-inch pecan wood dining table custom-made by a local San Diego artist. Add in 4 white industrial galvanized steel stools and hand-crafted/Minnesota made pendant lights overhead, it is urban chic meets casual coastal.
Across from the dining area is a spacious family room, with beautiful red oak flooring throughout. On cooler nights, you can enjoy the newly updated, environmentally friendly electric faux fireplacewith a reclaimed wood mantel by Vintage Timberworks in Temecula. Over the fireplace is a 55-inch UHD TV with basic cable and wireless capability for guests to enjoy music from their own Pandora playlists. The family room is furnished with an oversized 130"x80" sectional and a matching ottoman/coffee table, all made in North Carolina. Surrounding the ottoman are 2 signature swivel Crest chairs from Room and Board, also made in North Carolina. We carefully designed the seating area in the family room for relaxation, conversation and even some roundsof old fashioned board games.
Rounding out the mid-level living space is another balcony with a partial view of the ocean and Torrey Pines State Reserve. You'll also findan updated powder room with limestone inspired Italian porcelain tile flooring. Just outside the powder room isthe wood staircase leading up to the master suite retreat or down to both the junior suite and the 3rd bedroom. Another full bathroom with shower sitsjust outside the bunkbed room.
Overall, our Del Mar Beach Getaway offers comfortable accommodations for up to 6 people. There's a washer/dryer for use during your stay, along with boogie boards, Coolers, beach toys, beach umbrella and a wagon for yourbeach outings! Please just return them when you're done with your day at the beach.
If you would like to stock up before arriving, we suggest dropping by Costco to load up for the week. We also have a wireless printer that guests are welcome to use in case you need to conduct business or print out boarding passes.
Within a 5 minute walk from the townhouse complex are several quintessential Southern California restaurants... Roberto's Mexican Food for some mouthwatering carne asada tacos or burritos; Bird Rock Coffee Roaster to start your day; Buonasera New York Pizzeria offers pizza by the slice; West End Bar & Kitchen offering contemporary American cuisine; Sea Salt servesa fabulous happy hour and upscale seafood dishes; The Goat Sports Hall has plenty ofpub food and 13 TVs for sports enthusiasts.
If you'd like to venture beyond these walking distance restaurants, within a few minutes by car, you'll be in downtown Del Mar with a wonderful selection of highly rated ocean view restaurants. You'll findeverything from upscale shopping to take-out pizza and gourmet sandwich shops. Also within a 5 minute drive is the Del Mar Heights neighborhood where locals go for their grocery stores, drug stores, coffee and ice cream shops and additional dining options. Downtown La Jolla and the famous La Jolla shoreline is just a 10 milesaway.

Sea Forest is thoughtfully designed with a easy going boho theme, and bespoke furnishing. This home has everything you need to enjoy time with your family or get a little work done. You’ll have access to the pool, hot-tub, and tennis courts. In addition, this home is fully furnished with pots, pans, and dishes to feel fully at home. There are two smart tvs that will give you access to Spectrum TV, Disney+, ESPN, Hulu and Netflix. This home also has high speed networking for remote work. The 6 person dining space makes it easy to have family gatherings. There is also a table with bar stools for outdoor eating and a seating space on the patio. There is guest access to the pool, hot tub, sauna and tennis courts. There is an external bbq and eating area next to the pool. I am happy with whatever they prefer! Del Mar is a beach town in San Diego County, California, located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Established in 1885 as a seaside resort, the city incorporated in 1959. The Del Mar Horse Races are hosted on the Del Mar racetrack every summer. About a block away are the bluffs. Downtown shopping, including eating and coffee, and the beach is less than a mile away. I do recommend a car for the area. Though not required, you will need to do a significant bit of walking for groceries.

Live like a local. This is one of the nicest studios around for long term stays, and less than 3/4 mile to the beach, two blocks from lagoon, and steps from State Park and restaurants!

This private, second-floor guest house enjoys a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and is full of tiki charm. The spacious 823-square-foot living area contains a queen bed, a sitting area, a work/desk area, and a kitchenette, PLUS two balconies/decks, creating the ideal open layout for solo travelers or couples—a beautiful walk into the heart of downtown Olde Del Mar and beautiful Seagrove Park and beach. With off-street parking and a quick flight of stairs over a detached garage, you enter this unique, topical-themed guest house.

Inside is a cozy sitting area, which is perfect for reading or watching TV; the free-standing copper fireplace creates a mid-century vibe, and the clean, efficient kitchenette is well organized, with two counter-height Sub-Zero refrigerators, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, and a hot plate. Equipped with tableware, pots & pans, coffee & tea, basic spices & oils, and cleaning supplies, you have the choice of dining inside or stepping out to the patio table to enjoy the ocean breeze.

It is just a step up to the luxurious queen bed and desk/work area overlooking the sitting area and kitchenette. Hiding behind the boho screen is a Diplomat folding twin bed with matching bedding. WOW! View, view, view. The living area is expanded by the additional 200 sq. ft. porch with two seating areas, a patio table for 4, and a comfortable sofa next to the BBQ, effectively combining indoors with outdoor living.

Adjacent is a huge bathroom, and it is awesome ... boasting a walk-in shower with four, yes, FOUR shower heads, a large cedar storage area (previously a sauna), a toilet, and a sink with ocean views, as well as access to another private 160 sq. ft. balcony!

The studio does not have central heating (or air conditioning), but it does have an electric blanket and a portable heater, and, of course, the fireplace is more than enough when it is chilly.

- "This is a very special place, even better than the photos. The studio is spacious and beautifully appointed. The ocean view is wonderful. The neighborhood is quiet and close to everything you would want to enjoy in Del Mar. Janet is a lovely hostess. We hope to return!"

Studio unit right on the bluffs of beautiful Del Mar. It is walking distance from the beach, downtown, and a short distance from the Race Track. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Wave Crest has a beautiful pool and spa. There are kitchettes in each unit along with cooking utensils.

- "The unit was comfortable, the location amazing, the complex lovely - right on the bluff with amazing views and great service. Even live music and wine reception one night by the pool. However, this was advertised as occupancy 4, and upon check in we were told it was strictly double occupancy. There was no additional bedding for 2 more. Luckily we had brought along a few folding mattresses and were able to make it work but it was not at all as advertised and if we hadn’t had beds in our car would have not had any place for two in our party to stay."

This property is a duplex, and the owners live in the unit above. There is a private entrance and requires one gradual set of stairs along the side of the property to get to the front door.

DURATION
Check-in is 4:00PM or later unless other arrangements have been approved by the host.

Access instructions will be sent through the booking platform the morning of your stay only after the guest agreement has been signed.

Check-out is at 11:00AM unless previously discussed. Guests shall vacate the unit at the end of its rental period.

If the housekeepers arrive on time at 11:00 AM and the unit is not vacated, guests will be charged $100 every fifteen minutes past 11:00 AM (pass through) for their delay. Guests who overstay their reservation prevent us from offering reservations with same day transitions and creates operational challenges for our housekeeping staff and for guests arriving the same day. We are equally committed to making sure the house is ready for your arrival as well.

GUEST
You must be at least 25 years old to reserve our property.

Guests who wish to make a reservation must have a completed profile on the booking platform, including an email, phone number, and a clear photograph of your face (so we know the person booking is in fact the person checking in).

NOISE
This home is located in a quiet neighborhood. Our NoiseAware system monitors decibel levels and occupancy to help us maintain a respectful atmosphere. If excessive noise is detected, our software will automatically reach out to remind you of our quiet hours and rules related to noise levels. This technology respects your privacy and only monitors noise levels, not personal conversations or information. We have a zero-tolerance policy for noise complaints, parties or gatherings of any sort. Please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum. Quiet hours are daily from 10:00PM-8:00AM, but noise must be respectable regardless of the time of day.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS, EVENTS, and GATHERINGS
We ask that all guests let us know in advance if they plan on having any visitors during their stay. You may not have additional guests or visitors unless previously authorized by the host.

Unauthorized additional guests/visitors will result in an unauthorized visitor fee of $250 per person.

PETS
Unfortunately, we do not allow pets at the property. Guests who bring unauthorized pets onto the property will be responsible for a fine of $250 per pet, and any additional cleaning charges based on the cleanliness of the home at time of check-out. Please note that even if there’s a no-pets policy, there may have been service animals in the past. We cannot guarantee that the property is completely free of pet allergens.

DAMAGE
Guests are required to report all damage that occurred during their stay to the host via the booking platform, prior to check-out. We understand accidents happen, but guests will be financially responsible for any damage that occurs during their reservation that is not covered by the damage waiver.

Please do not remove any furnishings, equipment, or items from the unit, including any linen, dishes, or any other items from the unit. Guests will be liable for any additional costs, charges or expenses resulting from any damage, lost or stolen items, or excessive check-out cleaning.

SMOKING
Our property is 100% smoke free; including both private and communal areas, the unit itself, and any other public areas within the building and the communal property regardless of whether inside or out. You must be totally off of the premises and on public property to smoke. If you're a regular smoker and feel you'll have a hard time following this rule we kindly suggest you look into another property.

Evidence of smoking will result in a fine up to $2,000 for smoke remediation.

ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
No illegal activity or illicit substances are permitted on the premises: doing either will result in immediate eviction from the property, and may also result in law enforcement involvement.

SECURITY
This property has a security camera at the entrance of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests.

The studio has a quirky, artistic layout. A slim ladder connects the main living/work area to the lofted sleeping area. While it adds a fun, cabin-like vibe, it may not be ideal for those with mobility limitations. For convenience, there is also a second entrance through the shared kitchen that leads directly to the bedroom—both doors have locks for your privacy and security.

You’ll have exclusive access to your room and bathroom, and shared access to communal area with a coffee maker, microwave. Behind the house, there’s a communal outdoor area where you can relax in the sun, sip coffee, or store surfboards and bikes.

Studio Mar is located in a charming, older coastal building full of character—and a few quirks. In the cooler winter months, we recommend bringing a cozy sweater and a pair of slippers, as the floors can get chilly.

The property is near a main road, so you may occasionally hear some street noise, along with the happy sounds of neighborhood dogs.

Please also note that there’s a slim ladder connecting the lower level to the sleeping loft. If you have mobility limitations, we recommend using the alternate entrance through the kitchen, which provides direct access to the bedroom area.

This space is meant to be a home away from home, where you can simply bring yourself and a change of clothes and find everything you need in one space. It is centrally located in the heart of downtown Del Mar and within walking distance (on average a 5 minute walk) to various restaurants and shops in Del Mar, as well as immediate access to the beach. Quick and easy access to the I-5 and I-805 also allows for further exploration throughout all of San Diego county. Listed below are examples of some places within a quick drive of this unit:
- UCSD/Scripps/Salk Institute: 15m
- Downtown La Jolla (with children's pool, seals, kayaking, and snorkeling): 20m

Following some guest feedback: as a full disclaimer, the sofa bed in the unit is not very comfortable as it is on the older end and very creaky (I have slept on it myself and have been fine, but I am also a very heavy sleeper). The front desk can provide mattress pads/additional bedding to try to increase your comfort, but please be aware when booking.

The complex is equipped with wifi but the signal is strongest by the front desk/common lounge area, and may be spotty in the actual unit.

Lastly- please note that air conditioning is not listed in the amenities section because the unit is not air conditioned. There are fans available from the front desk and most units also have ceiling fans, but none of the complex is air conditioned. You are, however, a 5 minute walk away from the ocean/cool ocean breezes though!

Location, Location, Location. In terms of location, few spaces in San Diego beat Del Mar's serene beauty and experience. Del Mar is a quaint, coastal city with incredible rooftop eateries and amazing multi beach access. Surf, swimming and snorkeling are just some of the few water activities one can enjoy while vacationing in Del Mar. We also have highly desirable nearby neighborhoods located just 10-15 minutes from us, such as Solana beach, Encinitas and La Jolla. We are also located 20 minutes from downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and 25 minutes from Coronado island.
Grocery shopping and restaurants are also conveniently located across from the condo complex, less then a 3 minute drive or a 10 minute walk!

This studio is a large 400 square foot space converted into a studio with a mini kitchenette, master bathroom with a whirlpool tub, and a private entrance with patio. We have an on-site pool and hot tub as well as a washer/dryer for community use. The washer/dryer is coin operated. Our kitchenette features a full sized refrigerator, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster & hot plate. All flatware & utensils are included.

The resort has free parking and is right across the street from the Del Mar Fair and Racetrack (a great way to avoid the high parking fees when visiting the Fair). Its about 0.7 miles(a 10min walk) from the ocean and the train station - great for day trips to Los Angeles, North and South San Diego, or Mexico. During the fair and racing seasons, the resort offers complimentary shuttles to and from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack.

This is a completely updated (Aug '17), newly furnished, impeccably maintained, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath townhouse with an attached garage. No one above or below you. The upper master suite encompasses the entire top level (master suite is 600 sq. ft... a comparable Del Mar/La Jolla resort suite room in nearly triple the price)… the master suite is furnished with a beautiful King bed, premium hotel quality mattress topper, down duvet. Adjacent sitting area is furnished with an 86" European inspired design sofa, contemporary glass top coffee table, fireplace, 50-inch app based UHD-TV with basic cable included and wireless connection so guests can log in to their personal streaming service (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc). Topping it all off is a private master suite balcony with breathtaking views of the ocean and the majestic Torrey Pines Reserve. But there's more... the master suite also includes a brand new double-sink vanity with Calacatte Premium Quartz counter-top, double cameo tilting mirrors, floor to ceiling mosaic tiles made from recycled glass in Northern California, deluxe doorless walk-in shower, spacious custom walk-in closet.

The second room is a junior suite and sits on the lower level... just slightly smaller but still with 400+ sq. ft. of living space and is also newly furnished with a luxury King bed, hotel quality mattress topper, down duvet, sitting area with an oversized modern chaise. The junior suite also has a new double-sink vanity, new shower framed by ocean-inspired turquoise subway glass tile with a Kohler expanse curved tub, spacious walk-in closet and sliding door access to the lower-level patio.

The 3rd bedroom is also on the lower level, just around the corner from the junior suite. It is also newly furnished with a twin-over-full bunkbed plus a twin pull-out trundle, a mirrored closet and sliding door access to the lower patio.

Separating the upper and lower bedroom levels is the mid-level main living space. The open floor plan will greet you as soon as you step in from the attached 2 car garage... or the French double door entry from the driveway. Welcoming you first is a sky-lit "sand-room" (we don't have mudrooms in Southern California... this is where you kick off your flip flops and de-sand your feet)... the sand-room offers an area to hang up your sun hats, beach towels and a light jacket (which you might need with the nighttime cool coastal breeze). From there, you'll step right into the galley kitchen offering gas stove-top, electric oven, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, microwave hood, coffee machine, French press, toaster, glassware, stemware, utensils and plates (service for 8). There is also a supply of plastic ware for our much younger guests.
From the kitchen, you'll walk into a coastal inspired custom-designed dining area with a built-in banquette along a sparkling white shiplap wall, a 72-inch pecan wood dining table custom-made by a local San Diego artist, add in 4 white industrial galvanized steel stools and hand-crafted/Minnesota made pendant lights overhead, it is urban chic meets casual coastal.

Across from the dining area is a spacious family room, with beautiful red oak flooring throughout. On cooler nights, you can enjoy the brick fireplace newly updated with a reclaimed wood mantel by Vintage Timberworks in Temecula. Over the fireplace is a 55-inch UHD TV with basic cable and wireless capability for guests to enjoy music from their own Pandora playlists. The family room is furnished with an oversized 130"x80" Oasis sectional and a matching ottoman/coffee table, all made in North Carolina. Surrounding the ottoman are 2 ultra modern signature swivel Crest chairs from Room and Board, also made in North Carolina. We carefully designed the seating in the family room so it is perfect for relaxation, conversation and even a round or two of old fashioned board games.

Rounding out the mid-level living space is another balcony with a partial view of the ocean and Torrey Pines State Reserve, a newly updated powder room with a contemporary wall to wall backsplash, and limestone inspired Italian porcelain tile flooring. Just outside the powder room, you'll find the wood staircase leading up to the master suite retreat or down to both the junior suite and the 3rd bedroom and a 3rd full bathroom with shower just outside the bunkbed room.

Overall, our Del Mar Beach Getaway offers very comfortable accommodations for up to 7 people. All 3 bedrooms have new premium carpeting. There's a washer and dryer for use during your stay, along with boogie boards, Coolers, beach toys, beach umbrella and a wagon to pull it all down to the beach! Please just return them when you're done with your day at the beach. If you would like to stock up before you arrive, we suggest dropping by Costco to load up for the week. We also have a wireless printer that guests are welcome to use in case you need to conduct business or print out your boarding passes.

Within a 5 minute walk from the townhouse complex are several quintessential Southern California restaurants... Roberto's Mexican Food for some mouthwatering carne asada, China Cafe for traditional Mandarin cuisine, West End Bar & Kitchen for a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere offering contemporary American cuisine and a full service bar, Trattorio Ponte Vecchio for a quaint neighborhood spot offering classic Italian fare, and Sea Salt for a fabulous happy hour known for their waterfront patio seating and upscale seafood dishes and cocktails.
If you'd like to venture beyond these walking distance restaurants, within a few minutes by car, you'll be in downtown Del Mar with a wonderful selection of highly rated ocean view restaurants and everything from upscale shopping to take-out pizza and gourmet sandwich shops. Also within a 5 minute drive is the Del Mar Heights neighborhood where locals go for their grocery stores, drug stores, coffee and ice cream shops and additional awesome dining options. Downtown La Jolla and the famous La Jolla shoreline is just 10 miles away.
