The studio is bright and airy; windows and skylights provide lots of natural light but black out shades provide darkness when you want to sleep in. We've tried to provide everything we like in a home-away-from home! The modern kitchen has what's generally needed to prepare, cook and store food, but if there's an additional appliance you like to use, we're happy to lend it. The furnishings are contemporary, and we're told that the bed and bath linens are especially comfy. Washer and dryer are on property. Store your golf clubs, bike or surf/paddle board in the secure garage. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella are provided, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off sand. Off-street driveway parking spot is included.

The studio is located above our detached garage. You access it by entering our shared, enclosed courtyard, then have one flight of stairs to your front door and private deck. Motion detector lights illuminate your way after dark.

Although our setting is generally very tranquil, there are noises out of our control that we would like you to be aware of. Trains occasionally traverse the Peñasquitos Lagoon valley and sometimes aircraft from MiraMar Airbase stray from their normal flight path. All these occurrences are commonplace in coastal Del Mar; we hope they won't impact your stay with us.

The best NY pizza west of New York is 5 minutes away by foot. 5 good restaurants within walking distance. Beach is also walking distance or you can park using the hosts Annual Pass at no charge. The Beach Colony is sought after for its long stretches of white sandy beaches, great waves for boogie boarding or surfing, yet gentle shore break for little ones to play at the water`s edge. Easy walk into Del Mar or go North to Cedros/Solana Beach. Race Track/Fairgrounds are less than a mile a way. Shopping, dining, freeway access all very accessible.

Lisa, the host, was fantastic. Her handyman was also. There is a private entrance to the property's patio which made this unit extra special compared to others we saw. We have a seven year old and wanted some private outside space for them. We loved having access to the resort but also having the amenities of a private residence. The laundry room was next door to the unit. It is coin operated but offered an additional service to use a credit card. The kitchen was nicely equipped with everything you would need to cook during your stay. We walked to a park, playground, beach, restaurants, shops. Everything else we needed was less than a 10 minute drive. We are already planning our next trip back."

If you are inclined to walk 3 doors down, you can sit on the sea wall and enjoy a full ocean view. The Mindful Cottage is a cozy and relaxing spot to get away from it all.

This is a guest cottage in the rear of a main home. The two properties are not connected. You will enter from the alley (main house enters off of 9th Street). The only interaction you may encounter is when they cross the lawn to empty trash or get beach gear. All their living and outdoor space faces 9th Street.

Del Mar Woods is located in the quiet southwestern part of Olde Del Mar near 4th Street by the ocean with easy access to La Jolla and is also convenient to I-5 and the 805 which will take you to many of the Southern California attractions. Besides the beautiful beaches, there are also many hiking and biking trails in the area. If you are here to work, it is an easy commute to the various business parks in Del Mar, La Jolla and San Diego. There is a commuter train at the nearby Solana Beach train station to transport you to Los Angeles or various stops en-route or beyond. You may also choose to visit Mexico which is a mere 38 miles to the South. You really won't want to leave! Fortunately, you can come back again and again.

- "This condo was exactly the way it was advertised. The owner spared no expense in creating a very comfortable vacation paradise. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen very well stocked. We enjoyed many meals at the large glass top table while watching the sunset. The automatic shade that was installed on the balcony was fantastic! It made a huge difference during the afternoon and evening. The balcony was a great place to relax and read a book. My children enjoyed relaxing by the pool and I took advantage of the gym. We really appreciated the two assigned parking spots. Kim was quick to respond to any question or concern. The condo wasn’t exactly near restaurants, but within walking distance. Walking distance to the Village of Del Mar and Cedros Design District. Del Mar Dream has recently undergone renovations: New Kitchen, flooring, paint, fireplace, laundry room have created a wonderful gathering space for our guests.

Del Mar Dream comfortably sleeps 4 adults and can accommodate additional guest on the sofa or infant/toddler in a pack-n-play. Both bathrooms have 2 sinks each. The master bath (ensuite) has a shower stall and the guest bath has a shower/tub combination. The kitchen is fully stocked, we have beach equipment for your enjoyment as well. The condo is located on the 2nd floor, end unit. It is single level inside. We do have an elevator (in addition to stairs) for access.

There is guest access to the pool, hot tub, sauna and tennis courts. There is an external bbq and eating area next to the pool. I am happy with whatever they prefer! Del Mar is a beach town in San Diego County, California, located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Established in 1885 as a seaside resort, the city incorporated in 1959. The Del Mar Horse Races are hosted on the Del Mar racetrack every summer. About a block away are the bluffs. Downtown shopping, including eating and coffee, and the beach is less than a mile away. I do recommend a car for the area. Though not required, you will need to do a significant bit of walking for groceries.

- Nestled on quiet Mango Drive, just west of Portofino Drive, the home is situated in a peaceful neighborhood.
- The entire house, including the attached guest room, was fully remodeled in 2023 and offers a clean, modern atmosphere.
- The guest room is located on the west side of the main house and shares one wall—which was originally the exterior wall before the addition. While it's possible to hear light activity from the main house, the guest room remains quiet and private.
- The guest room includes a door leading to the garage, which stays securely locked and dead-bolted throughout your stay. We do use the garage for our car, so you may occasionally hear the garage door opening or closing.

This offering is very simple - it is just a sleeping area in the living room of a one bedroom apartment. You will have shared access to the kitchen and bathroom. I also live in a separate bedroom - I am a medical resident so I am almost never home. I have lived in several different places in San Diego and am confident you will agree that the beach that is about 1000 feet from the apartment is the most pristine and beautiful in all of San Diego.

The space
Del Mar Haven is 450 sq ft and well stocked with a dedicated kitchen, dining area, living room area, desk, bathroom, and sleeping area. One King bed and one Queen Sofa bed. The new Berin sofa bed from Room and Board is high-end and comfortable. We live above the studio -sharing no walls, only the ceiling above. Keep in mind that you might hear us walking above, but we do our best to maintain a quiet peaceful space . Fast Wi-Fi. The neighborhood is tranquil. New AC/heat unit!

Other things to note
This is a quiet and respectful neighborhood- please no parties, smoking, or loudness! The hot water heater fan will turn on throughout your stay -it is not excessively noisy, but blows cool air. There is a mini split with heat/air to counter this. Due to my work schedule, check-in is 5 pm with a later check-out time of 1 p.m. These times can be flexible- contact me and I can try to accommodate. Please note that the home is not baby and/or child-proofed. It is your responsibility to walk the home and/or property upon arrival, to make this space safe for your children. The studio features a comfortable queen size bed and a sleeper sofa that opens into another queen size bed if needed, perfect for small families or couples. Welcome to Studio by the Sea, a bright and breezy two-story hideaway just minutes from the beach, Torrey Pines State Reserve, and the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This unique space is part of a creatively designed home built to bring affordability and charm to the heart of Del Mar. The property features a row of private bedroom suites, each with its own entrance and character, resembling a cluster of beachside bungalows.

Your private studio includes two separate entrances, a dedicated workspace, and a private bathroom. Natural light pours through tall windows and high ceilings, giving the space a breezy, open feel. Whether you're here to work remotely, surf, or simply unwind, this thoughtfully designed space provides both comfort and privacy.

The studio has a quirky, artistic layout. A slim ladder connects the main living/work area to the lofted sleeping area. While it adds a fun, cabin-like vibe, it may not be ideal for those with mobility limitations. For convenience, there is also a second entrance through the shared kitchen that leads directly to the bedroom—both doors have locks for your privacy and security.

You’ll have exclusive access to your room and bathroom, and shared access to communal area with a coffee maker, microwave. Behind the house, there’s a communal outdoor area where you can relax in the sun, sip coffee, or store surfboards and bikes.

Your host, Raul, lives on-site and is available if you need anything during your stay, but always respects your privacy. Guests often comment that the experience feels like having your own private beach cottage, with the added bonus of thoughtful touches and responsive hosting.

Other things to note
Studio Mar is located in a charming, older coastal building full of character—and a few quirks. In the cooler winter months, we recommend bringing a cozy sweater and a pair of slippers, as the floors can get chilly.

The property is near a main road, so you may occasionally hear some street noise, along with the happy sounds of neighborhood dogs.

Please also note that there’s a slim ladder connecting the lower level to the sleeping loft. If you have mobility limitations, we recommend using the alternate entrance through the kitchen, which provides direct access to the bedroom area.

The space
This space is meant to be a home away from home, where you can simply bring yourself and a change of clothes and find everything you need in one space. It is centrally located in the heart of downtown Del Mar and within walking distance (on average a 5 minute walk) to various restaurants and shops in Del Mar, as well as immediate access to the beach. Quick and easy access to the I-5 and I-805 also allows for further exploration throughout all of San Diego county. Listed below are examples of some places within a quick drive of this unit:
- UCSD/Scripps/Salk Institute: 15m
- Downtown La Jolla (with children's pool, seals, kayaking, and snorkeling): 20m

Photos shown are for a similar unit in the same complex; I also have a second listing with photos of a second unit that gives you a general sense for the style of the units in the complex. The unit available for rental is actually slightly larger than the one photographed. Please note that since it is a timeshare rental, unit assignments vary each year. I will send confirmation of the unit number with check-in instructions after booking.

Following some guest feedback: as a full disclaimer, the sofa bed in the unit is not very comfortable as it is on the older end and very creaky (I have slept on it myself and have been fine, but I am also a very heavy sleeper). The front desk can provide mattress pads/additional bedding to try to increase your comfort, but please be aware when booking.

The complex is equipped with wifi but the signal is strongest by the front desk/common lounge area, and may be spotty in the actual unit.

Lastly- please note that air conditioning is not listed in the amenities section because the unit is not air conditioned. There are fans available from the front desk and most units also have ceiling fans, but none of the complex is air conditioned. You are, however, a 5 minute walk away from the ocean/cool ocean breezes though!
