This is what it sounds like when you stay in the Boat Room located just under the restaurant, but my husband and I loved it. They have ear plugs and the sounds of thunder and rain freely available to mask the hub-bub. We were cracking up. The room was small and it reminded me of accommodation I've had in Copenhagen and Paris (minimalistic to save space): very small, with a bed and a bathroom that doubles as the shower. The room was clean and the decor was cool. I've stayed at Nomad before in one of the bigger, front rooms. That room was quieter and more spacious. If you're uptight, entitled, or like to complain, I wouldn't stay in the Boat Room. But, it works if you're not precious. It's nice to be able to stay in a room in San Clemente without breaking the bank. The surrounding area is amazing and glorious. The food at the restaurant at the hotel is A-Maz-Ing!!! They gave us a free drink each, which was really cool. Plus, I apparently get a hat for leaving this review. Time will tell. Thanks, Nomad staff! We had a great time."

- "We loved the location. We love San Clemente and all it has to offer. The support person on the phone was very helpful. It’s a great unit. We were very comfortable there. We would return in the future. There are a few things that need to be looked at a little closer. The toilet kept clogging up. Especially when there were more people in the building upstairs. The bathroom sink does not drain well. The king size bed was too soft and uncomfortable for us. The major thing is that the place smells musty or moldy. We opened windows and used Lysol spray which helped with the smell. The space was great! I loved having a washer dryer in the unit and the kitchen is well supplied. I had want for nothing. We did some cooking and baked a pie. Just like at home. The yard was wonderful to sit out in the evenings. The overgrown tree was a bit messy but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the space. Overall this is a great location and decent unit. We would consider staying here again. "

WALKING access to the beach and beach trail is available through several nearby entry points. The space
A 1950's beach style cottage, my home is quaint and colorful, with lots of sunshine, light, and sea breezes. You may occasionally smell freshly ground coffee or hear strains of Spanish guitar being played somewhere on the property. Your rooms are very quiet, and removed from the activity of the main space.

Guest access
You room has it’s own fully stocked kitchenette. Additionally, you will have access to the barbecue on the front patio. There are also plenty of "beach supplies", chairs, umbrellas, body boards and towels for your use.

During your stay
I reside in the main part of the house while you enjoy the privacy of your own bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette, with a private entrance. I will be available to answer questions, make you an espresso, direct you to the best surf for the day, or suggest a nice restaurant.

Other things to note
My golden retriever, Molly, loves having guests at the property, and may occasionally be found sleeping in the sun on the front patio. Of course her best friend Simba, my shy tabby cat, doesn't always let her relax the way she likes.

Off street parking for 1 vehicle. Beach and beach trail is about 7-10 minute leisure walk. Del Mar (main street) is 1 minute walk. Libraries, parks, shops, restaurants all by walking. Close enough to walk to train station but not close enough to hear loud train hoot.

You’ll love the serenity of the gardens, fountains and Dutch Doors to let in the ocean breezes!. Steps from beach access and walking distance to town. Fully fenced so feel free to bring your furry friends! If your dates are not available on the calendar, contact me as I sometimes have dates blocked for family that can be made available.

The space
This is a gorgeous bungalow with original Dutch Doors to let in the ocean breezes and a wrap around outdoor courtyard complete with fountain and pond. This is a very private space. Everything is new - new floors, new fixtures, new paint...comfort abounds. Please treat the space as such. There are bikes, washer and dryer, beach supplies. We would appreciate you watering the interior plants and adding water to the fountain if it runs low.

LEAVING THE BUNGALOW
The bungalow was neat and clean when you arrived and we request that it be left in a similar state when you depart:
Load the dishwasher - It's fine to just leave the dishwasher running.
Make a pile of the towels you've used and the sheets so we can get busy washing!
Leave the cottage in a generally neat condition

Guest access
You will have full use of the space. .There is a washer and dryer in the garage and additional supplies and tools to make your stay comfortable. There are bikes, boogie boards even a surfboard. We want you to have a great time. Just treat these things as you would your own.

Other things to note
Parking is extremely limited. This property is only two blocks from the beach and less than a block from church, schools and parks. You will have one space in the driveway so if you have guests, please be aware! We have reconfigured the front of the house so you can pull another small car into the gravel in front. House is full of Dutch Doors to let in the breezes. There are ceiling fans in both bedrooms. There are portable heaters in both bedrooms and a portable fan. This is an old home although it has been remodeled and we replaced the water heater, pipes, etc. It still takes a bit of time to get hot water to the sink. Try to wash off sand before using the jacuzzi tub. There is no air conditioning. We recommend opening the dutch door windows, you'll get a great breeze. There are also overhead fans and additional fans you can set up in all of the rooms. There are candles in the fireplaces that have remote controls for additional mood lighting. There is a handyman who lives across the street and handles the trash, watering, etc. If anything goes wrong let me know and I can dispatch Hector to help you.

An elegantly decorated studio apartment that is perfect for a romantic weekend get-a-way, with generous long-stay discounts. The unit is located one house away from the entrance to the beach/beach trail with 109 steps down near North Beach. Sleeps 2 adults (and up to 1 small child). Amenities include internet TV, plus extremely fast internet (300+ mbs) and a full well-stocked kitchen.

The space
This studio unit is charming and relaxing. There are 3 other units on the property that also can be rented (if available) to provide up to 6 bedrooms that can legally hold up to 20 people. The studio does not have an ocean view from inside the unit, but easy and quick access one house away.

One Small dog (under 20 lbs ) is ok If there is any pet damage, guests will be charged $100 (scratches, urine on carpet, excess dog hair) The dog can not be left in the apartment unattended.

The property is completely Non Smoking inside/outside the unit. Smoking on the property or in the Unit will result in a fee of $250.

10% San Clemente transient occupancy tax will be added to the bill, payable through Airbnb or at check-in. (Stays of 30 days or more are eligible for a tax exemption)

There is no a/c. But multiple fans are provided and the windows can be opened for the cool ocean breeze to come in.

Long-stay discounts: A weekly discount of 15% and a monthly discount of 20% is available. Stays over one week can request a cleaning once per week at an additional cost of $75 (includes carpets, floors, restroom, and fresh towels).

The studio does not have access to the large ocean view deck, the usage of these go with the cottage and bungalow as rentable on Airbnb for their exclusive use.

The property is completely Non Smoking. Smoking in the studio or on the property will result in a fee of $250.00.


No gatherings or parties allowed and guests must be 25 years old to rent the property.

The studio is on the ground level and there is a unit above. You may hear people moving around.

**About a pet small dog is ok with permission
My rules for a dog are the dog can never be left in the house by itself. And any damage caused from the pet will be paid by the guests. There is no yard so the dog has to be walked on the street and picked up after. No excessive barking. With respect to the other guests and neighbors.

While the studio is 700 sq ft, it seems much larger because of the 12’ ceilings. Everything is high end from the 65” mounted on a swivel tv, the electric fireplace, the new kitchenette, the extra large bbq, the bathroom fixtures, and furniture.
