- "We absolutely loved this property. We actually felt it was better than the photos, and that is not usually our experience! My family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights. The house had everything we needed and many thoughtful touches. The owner was helpful without being intrusive. It was definitely walkable to the beach and Linda Lane park, which was fantastic for our 10 year old boys. We especially loved eating breakfast on the front porch and sitting around the fire pit, as the patio was fantastic. Beds were comfy, kitchen and bath nicely remodeled, tvs great, wifi worked fine, garage was great to have along with beach chairs and boogie boards! We would rent this house again in a heartbeat! San Clemente is great for exploring the beaches, and not far from Dana Point Harbor (tide pools were a hit!) and visiting friends in Laguna Beach. The only problem was that we didn't stay long enough - we need a week next time! :-)"

This panoramic ocean view cottage sits above the Pacific and boasts stunning ocean views all the way up the coast to Dana Point. The modern open floor plan with beam ceilings has views from almost every spot in the Kitchen/Great Room & Master Bedroom and newly remodeled bathroom.

Upon entering this almost 2000 square foot cottage you'll find open, spacious living spaces. The three ocean view seating areas in the great room allow for separate activities while still keeping the group together. The main living area features 2 comfortable couches, a Flat Screen TV, and a fireplace. Open to the living area and kitchen is an additional sitting area, featuring a sofa and two Captain’s chairs. The sofas in the living and sitting areas can be converted into Queen size beds to accommodate 4 of your guests comfortably.

Adjacent to the living area is the home's Gourmet Kitchen, boasting a Viking range and Bosch Dishwasher, ample counter and storage space, and a Granite Bar with built in seating. The open kitchen /great room combination is ideal for entertaining. For added convenience, the full guest bathroom is located just off of the living and kitchen areas.

The 10 seat dining table is flanked by a corner window where you can see the waves crashing 300 feet away while enjoying your morning coffee. Evenings are even more spectacular as you enjoy dinner with sunsets over the ocean and Catalina Island in the background.

The cameras do not look into interior spaces. The cameras record video and audio when activated by motion

Set foot inside the beautiful courtyard and leave all your cares behind! Newly remodeled two bedroom, two bath cottage designed for privacy and relaxation. You’ll love the serenity of the gardens, fountains and Dutch Doors to let in the ocean breezes!. Steps from beach access and walking distance to town. Fully fenced so feel free to bring your furry friends! If your dates are not available on the calendar, contact me as I sometimes have dates blocked for family that can be made available.

The space
This is a gorgeous bungalow with original Dutch Doors to let in the ocean breezes and a wrap around outdoor courtyard complete with fountain and pond. This is a very private space. Everything is new - new floors, new fixtures, new paint...comfort abounds. Please treat the space as such. There are bikes, washer and dryer, beach supplies. We would appreciate you watering the interior plants and adding water to the fountain if it runs low.

LEAVING THE BUNGALOW
The bungalow was neat and clean when you arrived and we request that it be left in a similar state when you depart:
Load the dishwasher - It's fine to just leave the dishwasher running.
Make a pile of the towels you've used and the sheets so we can get busy washing!
Leave the cottage in a generally neat condition

Guest access
You will have full use of the space. .There is a washer and dryer in the garage and additional supplies and tools to make your stay comfortable. There are bikes, boogie boards even a surfboard. We want you to have a great time. Just treat these things as you would your own.

Other things to note
Parking is extremely limited. This property is only two blocks from the beach and less than a block from church, schools and parks. You will have one space in the driveway so if you have guests, please be aware! We have reconfigured the front of the house so you can pull another small car into the gravel in front. House is full of Dutch Doors to let in the breezes. There are ceiling fans in both bedrooms. There are portable heaters in both bedrooms and a portable fan. This is an old home although it has been remodeled and we replaced the water heater, pipes, etc. It still takes a bit of time to get hot water to the sink. Try to wash off sand before using the jacuzzi tub. There is no air conditioning. We recommend opening the dutch door windows, you'll get a great breeze. There are also overhead fans and additional fans you can set up in all of the rooms. There are candles in the fireplaces that have remote controls for additional mood lighting. There is a handyman who lives across the street and handles the trash, watering, etc. If anything goes wrong let me know and I can dispatch Hector to help you.

Historic San Clemente Beach Cottage Within Walking Distance to EVERYTHING!

Come to call the beach home for a while! This charming south west San Clemente historic beach cottage was built by the town's founding father in 1931 in the Mediterranean Revival style, lovingly restored, and is located in the heart of the Village by the Sea. Conveniently located west of Pacific Coast Highway, the cottage affords easy access for day trips north or south along the California coastline.

The space
The cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 6, with hardwood floors & french doors throughout. The master bedroom features a wooden sleigh bed and ample storage. The second bedroom features a custom built double over double tree house bunk, plenty of storage and a large selection of natural/wooden toys upon request. The bath has a slate stone surround, spa water feature & Frette Spa robes are provided to make your holiday even more relaxing. The kitchen and pantry are stocked for your convenience and houses the original vintage gas stove. A secluded private yard with a mature coastal pine shade tree features a stone water fountain, privacy hedge, outdoor chandelier lighting and a wood & wicker furnished portico. All beach sundries are also provided, including towels, umbrella, boogie boards and sand toys. From the cottage one may walk EVERYWHERE, including the beach, pier, T-street surfing, grocers, coffeehouses, art galleries, wine bars and the village's many downtown dining & shopping venues.

The Surfside Cottage is a perfect balance between modern features, privacy and convenience. The Surfside Cottage offers comfortable accommodations in an ideal location , 1/2 mile to Del Mar St. Shops, Restaurants & to San Clemente Pier. San Clemente's very own Ole Hanson Restored Event Casino is just a short 10 minute walk away. Please know your pet will be considered for this rental however there is an additional $150 pet fee.

The space
Welcome to Surfside Cottage where you are greeted by a charming front patio with a cafe table for 2. Follow the path to your private spacious courtyard and discover the ideal space for entertaining or simply unwinding after a day of sights and surf, then head inside to your perfectly furnished beach retreat. The spacious living room features a plush sectional sofa, a large Flat Screen Apple TV and a cozy fireplace. The modern fully equipped kitchen boasts high end appliances, a Keurig machine as well as a breakfast bar with seating for two. This charming eat-in kitchen also features a dining table with seating for 5. Follow the stairs up to the private Master Retreat, offering a luxurious Cal King size bed, large Flat Screen, TV built in work space and custom walk in closet. The En Suite Master Bathroom features a mirrored vanity with dual sinks and modern fixtures as well as a shower.
The two well appointed guest bedrooms are located on the first level of the home. The first Guest Bedroom features a Queen size bed, a Flat Screen TV, DVD Player and convenient access to the guest bathroom. Guest Bedroom 2 is furnished with a bunk bed, featuring a Twin size bed over a Full size bed, plus an additional Twin size roll away trundle bed. The ideal space to entertain the kids, this room also features a play area with games and Flat Screen TV. The Guest Bathroom offers a spacious combination shower and tub as well as a vanity with sink.
Just outside, the home's inviting courtyard creates a tranquil ambiance. Gather around the chiminea in the evenings as you relax on the plush outdoor living furniture. Enjoy a soak in the private bubbling hot tub, or enjoy an afternoon of barbecuing a great meal. Whether you're relaxing in the private courtyard , enjoying time together in your well appointed beach house or walking to the white sandy beach just steps down the street, you're sure to enjoy San Clemente's unbeatable weather and beautiful scenery.
For added convenience with your ultimate beach vacation in mind towels, chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards and surfboards are also included at the home as well as full size laundry facilities. Street parking only.

•This home has 20 concrete steps to the entry way. If stairs pose an inconvenience this may not be for you.
•No smoking is allowed inside any of our properties
•Due to the moderate coastal climate, this house (like most in the area) does not have air conditioning.
•This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced. Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting.

We have done our best to make this it as comfortable as possible while providing all the amenities you would find in your own home environment. Below are some instructions and details as well as just a few rules I ask you to abide by to keep yourself and all of the surrounding neighbors happy.





TV: THE REMOTE THAT SAYS DIRECT TV CONTROLS THE VOLUME AND CABLE. THE VIZIO REMOTE SWITCHES BETWEEN APPLE TV & DIRECT TV BY SWITCHING THROUGH THE SELECTED INPUT.

THERE IS A SMALL PNUEMATIC BUTTON THAT IS LOCATED ON THE KITCHEN SINK WHICH OPERATES THE SINK DISPOSAL.

LAUNDRY
IS LOCATED DOWNSTAIRS BETWEEN BEDROOMS.

HOT TUB
IS LOCATED OUTSIDE ON THE COURTYARD. PLEASE WASH YOUR FEET PRIOR TO ENTERING SPA. PLEASE KEEP THE COVER ON AT ALL TIMES WHEN NOT USING THE HOT TUB. DO NOT RUN THE JETS ON THE SPA PAST 9:30 PM OR BEFORE 9:30 AM AS THEY ARE LOUD AND BOTHER THE NEIGHBORS. *** THIS HOT TUB REQUIRES OCCUPANTS TO ADD 1 TEASPOON OF CHLORINE PER DAY WHEN USING. THE CHLORINE IS PROVIDED AND IS LOCATED IN THE EXTERIOR CLOSET IN THE COURT YARD. PLEASE BE SURE TO FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION AS YOUR HOT TUB WILL NOT STAY CLEAN WITHOUT THE EXTRA CHLORINE.*** PLEASE DO NOT OVERLAD THE HOT TUB. IT IS DESIGNED TO HOLD A MAX OF 4 ADULTS. PLEASE ADD WATER AS NECESSARY TO KEEP THE WATER LEVEL ABOVE THE TOP MOST JETS WITHIN THE HOT TUB. A POOL CLEANER COMES MOST EVERY MONDAY MORNING TO HANDLE THE CLEANING AND CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF THE HOT TUB.

*A GARDNER COMES ONCE A WEEK TO CLEAN THE COURTYARD AND HANDLE THE LANDSCAPING DUTIES.

FIREPLACE
IS A GAS ONLY FIREPLACE. THERE IS A SWITCH LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF THE WEST PILAR OF THE FIREPLACE THAT TURNS IT ON AND OFF.
PLEASE TURN OFF THE FIRPLACE BEFORE LEAVING OR AT NIGHT BEFORE BED.

HEATING INTRUCTIONS
ON THE DOWNSTAIRS WALL BETWEEN THE 2 ROOMS INFRONT OF THE WASHER AND DRYER. TURN MIDDLE BUTTON TO HEAT AND TURN RIGHT BUTTON TO AUTO.ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE AS NECESSRY.

TRASH
The trash gets taken every Friday morning. If you are vacationing over a Friday I recommend taking the trashcans to the street Thursday evening. The front Neighbor will usually do it, however, if they do not there is 1 Black (non recycled trash) 1 blue (recycled trash) and 1 brown (yard waste) per unit that should be placed curb side and then brought back to the west side of the driveway next to the retaining wall. FYI there is a large trashcan located in the corridor to the courtyard that is used to accumulate trash bags from inside the house so as to not have to walk your trash bags all the way to the street side trashcans every time the house hold trash becomes full.

Wonderful location, lots of outdoor space, fire pit, lush green garden and grass yard, and nice front deck . One way street, easy walk to restaurants, beach, beach trail, surfing, or Linda Lane park. Garage parking for two cars.

The beach cottage has one queen size bed and two bunk beds so it sleeps 6. The bathroom is small.

The space
Most houses in the area don't have yards. Our house has a nice yard where you can enjoy both the sun and shade.

Other things to note
The space is ideal for two adults and four children. More than four adults is not recommended due to bunk beds and small bathroom.

The house has internet, WiFi, and Roku in the living room and the master bedroom. The Roku allows you to watch streaming TV using services like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, HBO Go, and Amazon; however, guests must already have a subscription. Guests will have to use their own account login information.
