Spacious stand-alone guest cottage in the heart of Old Town Orange. It’s a great place for parents of Chapman students to stay while visiting their kids. Within walking distance to the Circle with so many great restaurants and bars that it makes it difficult to choose where to go. The bright and airy décor reflects the charm of Old Town Orange. Street parking is available. Arrive to something refreshing in the refrigerator and wake up to hot coffee.
Orange is loaded with history. Walking around the streets enjoying all the unique home styles is part of what makes our neighborhood interesting, with most of the homes built a 100 years ago. Located minutes away from Disneyland, 15 minutes from John Wayne Airport, 20 minutes to Newport Beach, 3 minutes from Chapman University and a short walk to great dining in the Circle.
Old Towne Orange is a great walking town. We are conveniently located off of the 55 Freeway. If visiting Orange County for the first time you are centrally located to almost everything.
The little home can accommodate up to three people but it is best suited for 2. Not suited for small children.
Please note.... we have two units on the property, a front house and a back cottage. The cottage is the one available for stays. We are in the front house and available if needed.
The City of Orange has a newly adapted policy on Short Term Rentals (10-01-2021). Each reservation will be required to add on a 10% Lodging Tax, similar to the local hotel or motel reservations. This fee goes directly to the city. If the fee is not collected at the time of the reservation it will be required prior to checking in. Unfortunately, we are required to charge this and wish there was a way around it considering we have always tried to run a "mom and pop" type rental. We are licensed, permitted, insured and pay taxes on our rental unit. Considering all of this, our hope is that you will still stay in our cottage and get that feeling that you are staying with extended family while away from home and fully enjoy all the charm that Orange has to offer.

The Orange Peel is a cozy restored two bedroom historic cottage from 1919, on the property of a 120 year old Victorian house. This detached 2 bed- 1 bath guesthouse has vintage charm in the heart of Old Town Orange. It is very comfortable for four people, with one queen bed and two twin beds, with the option of two more guests on the couch (extra charge). The private and quiet space is walking distance to Chapman University and the excellent restaurants and shops in the historic Orange Circle.
The space
The space is centrally located to all Orange Country has to offer. Only 10 minutes from Disneyland, Angels Stadium, and Honda Center and a 20 minute drive from world famous beaches!
The Orange Peel has vintage furnishings with hardwood flooring throughout. The kitchen includes a gas range and oven, sink, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, blender,
dinnerware, and flatware. There is a large living room with a dining area that is easy to set up. The space also includes a private laundry room and full bathroom with shower and tub.
Guests have the entire detached cottage to themselves. The entrance is through the side gate, past the organic garden beds.
There is plenty of free street parking in front of the main house.
Other things to note
Please ask about all the great restaurants that are walking distance from the property. Plus there allot of antique malls and boutique shop in the Orange circle.

The space
This adorable home is tucked in away from the street with your own entrance. It includes a fully equipped kitchen, heat & A/C, dining space, living room, outdoor seating area, bedroom and bathroom. The cottage is best suited for 1 or 2 people. A desk and chair are available if you need to get some work completed. If you forgot something more than likely we will have it on hand for you. The home comes stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste and an extra toothbrush, paper goods and if you are lucky maybe some wine or local brew to kick off your stay. The cottage and property are not “baby proofed”, therefore we ask that only adult guests consider staying. We are not a pet friendly home listing. Please contact us if you need a referral for your furry friends.
The living room and bedroom have internet connect TV’s with access to all your steaming services. Simply sign into your account and get your personal content.

The cottage is located on the property with the main house. They are completely separate units from each other with no shared walls. It is private, quiet and peaceful. There is a backyard patio that we hope guests will take the time to sit back and relax in. A washer and dryer are located in the garage, separate from the cottage, that guests may use if needed. Detergent is supplied.

We are not available to host your animals. The yard and surroundings are not secure. We keep the home free of pet allergies for family members that live onsite and future guests. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Richland is a historic property in the heart of Old Towne Orange, newly renovated into a versatile wedding and events venue and boutique hotel. The Cottage is a separate space on property, offering the ultimate privacy and comfort. Completely renovated and outfitted with a full kitchen, this is an ideal location for an at-home experience or extended stays. The Cottage is 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, and a pull-out sofa in the living room. It will sleep 6 and has a private backyard as well.

We are a one-minute walk to Old Towne Orange & many restaurants, cafes, and bars. Our property has a lounge area that can be used for guest access with a complimentary snack bar. Sit in the sun on our lovely patio that overlooks the Orange Circle. Conveniently located in a historic neighborhood making you feel right at home.
