One of the nicest studios around and less than 3/4 mile to the beach!
Beautiful, spacious, comfortable 500 s.f. detached studio with private 600 s.f. outdoor deck with ocean, lagoon, and nature reserve views. Property is walking distance to beach, the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, and a variety of great restaurants. Downtown Del Mar, with its wonderful beach-front restaurants, charming shops, L'Auberge Hotel, Del Mar Plaza, scenic Seagrove and Powerhouse Parks, beaches and nearby Del Mar Racetrack, is approximately 3 miles away.

Drive 2 miles north to the seaside village of Del Mar or hop on the I-5 or 56 freeways to easily access within minutes all that beautiful San Diego has to offer.

The studio is bright and airy; windows and skylights provide lots of natural light but black out shades provide darkness when you want to sleep in. We've tried to provide everything we like in a home-away-from home! The modern kitchen has what's generally needed to prepare, cook and store food, but if there's an additional appliance you like to use, we're happy to lend it. The furnishings are contemporary, and we're told that the bed and bath linens are especially comfy. Washer and dryer are on property. Store your golf clubs, bike or surf/paddle board in the secure garage. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella are provided, and there is an outdoor shower to wash off sand. Off-street driveway parking spot is included.

The studio is located above our detached garage. You access it by entering our shared, enclosed courtyard, then have one flight of stairs to your front door and private deck. Motion detector lights illuminate your way after dark.

Although our setting is generally very tranquil, there are noises out of our control that we would like you to be aware of. Trains occasionally traverse the Peñasquitos Lagoon valley and sometimes aircraft from MiraMar Airbase stray from their normal flight path. All these occurrences are commonplace in coastal Del Mar; we hope they won't impact your stay with us.

- "Everything was really great. Location is absolutely perfect, with so much to do within walking distance. The best NY pizza west of New York is 5 minutes away by foot. 5 good restaurants within walking distance. Beach is also walking distance or you can park using the hosts Annual Pass at no charge. Host provides umbrella and beach chairs, towels etc. Driveway parking at the property. Only thing I would have preferred is the chase lounger and fire pit to be on the ocean side of the Casita. They are behind it but not a deal killer. We will be back for sure!"

The only interaction you may encounter is when they cross the lawn to empty trash or get beach gear. All their living and outdoor space faces 9th Street.

Following some guest feedback: as a full disclaimer, the sofa bed in the unit is not very comfortable as it is on the older end and very creaky (I have slept on it myself and have been fine, but I am also a very heavy sleeper). The front desk can provide mattress pads/additional bedding to try to increase your comfort, but please be aware when booking.

The complex is equipped with wifi but the signal is strongest by the front desk/common lounge area, and may be spotty in the actual unit.

Lastly- please note that air conditioning is not listed in the amenities section because the unit is not air conditioned. There are fans available from the front desk and most units also have ceiling fans, but none of the complex is air conditioned. You are, however, a 5 minute walk away from the ocean/cool ocean breezes though!

Location, Location, Location. In terms of location, few spaces in San Diego beat Del Mar's serene beauty and experience. Del Mar is a quaint, coastal city with incredible rooftop eateries and amazing multi beach access. Surf, swimming and snorkeling are just some of the few water activities one can enjoy while vacationing in Del Mar. We also have highly desirable nearby neighborhoods located just 10-15 minutes from us, such as Solana beach, Encinitas and La Jolla. We are also located 20 minutes from downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and 25 minutes from Coronado island.
Grocery shopping and restaurants are also conveniently located across from the condo complex, less then a 3 minute drive or a 10 minute walk!

This large bedroom guest suite has a VERY comfortable queen-size memory foam pull out sofa bed (see photo: 4.5” memory foam mattress, with a 2” foam topper for added comfort and a 2” synthetic down topper for added COZY!). Two large leather chairs welcome you to relax, read, or watch something on the 64" swiveling smart tv, making it easy to watch from anywhere in the room. Additionally, a huge oak desk provides you a comfortable workspace if needed. There is ample closet space for your things, a Keurig coffee maker (coffee included) for your morning coffee, and a mini fridge with a selection of beverages for you. Two chairs just outside your door welcome you to enjoy some morning sun or evening sunset.

The guest suite is on the ground floor of our 4100 sq ft modern home. All other bedrooms in the home are upstairs. You will have privacy here, as we are not home much, and with your own dedicated entrance, it is quite possible that our paths will never cross during your stay. The home is in a fabulous residential neighborhood, just blocks from the ocean. We have wonderful neighbors….they help keep a watchful eye and can be available should you have any on-site emergencies and not be able to reach us. THE DEEP DIVE
All BeachHauses are engineered for simple, easy living. All BeachHauses feature self check-in and check-out. They're stocked with beach toys, beach towels, bath towels, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, olive oil, and cooking-ready kitchens.

Drop down the road and onto the beach: it's a 2 minute walk with a great crosswalk, and totally flat. All the better for the beach toys you have in tow, found waiting for you in the shared garage with your own little wagon. Play in the sand, relax back into the sun, boogie board or surf. Then come back to a truly cooking-ready kitchen, an outdoor shower, your own private fenced back yard. The owners spend weeks here every year so you know it's livable. All you have to do is come.

The Del Mar Beach Villas offers a relaxing and "kicked back" vibe for our guests. In other words, guests can still enjoy a calm & fun atmosphere without all the hustle and bustle. It's the best of both worlds - "Tranquil and Relaxing with a little bit of Liveliness."

From the minute you walk in, you realize this hidden gem is all about location, coziness, & functionality. With stunning ocean views and and space. Upon entry, feel free to open up the charming "Dutch Inswing" door to enjoy the San Diego breeze roll through and still have privacy. With the cozy Master Bedroom to the right, including a Cal King Bed & 55" LCD Smart TV, guests can sleep in comfort while enjoying a little bit of class. Plenty of closet and storage space for longer stays.

Continue towards the Kitchen/Living area and you are greeted with a bright and airy space accompanied with hip/chic furnishings, a comfortable work station, and an Ocean View Bar top in the kitchen so guests can enjoy sunset cocktails.

The kitchen is fully stocked for functionality and a 70" LED Smart TV is set up in the Living Area to stream your favorite ball games or movies. Step outside on to the spacious Ocean View balcony to enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Del Mar and stunning Ocean Views. A large grill to the right so you can prepare your food to perfection.

Down below across from the grounds is a communal trail providing a near direct access to public beach - access - roughly 3 blocks. Or, guests can head South towards the old Del Mar Train Station that will eventually provide access to the heartbeat of Downtown Del Mar or Power House Park!

Guests have access to the entire Condo unit and 3 shared laundry rooms on site. There is also an outdoor shower on the Communal grassy area to rinse off after the beach. There is a shed at the South end of the building that guests can access to use long board surfboards, boogie boards, etc.

Sea & Sky is a bright, spacious second-floor studio just minutes from the beach, Torrey Pines, and the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Flooded with natural light and surrounded by windows, this peaceful retreat overlooks a beautiful marsh and features a private bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The open layout includes a comfortable queen bed and a pull-out sofa for extra guests—perfect for a relaxing coastal getaway.

The home was originally designed to offer affordable coastal living with character. Instead of one large house, it features a row of private suites, each with its own entrance and unique style—resembling a cluster of laid-back beach bungalows. It’s a rare blend of privacy, community, and architectural creativity in a high-demand neighborhood.

Inside Sea & Sky, you'll find a spacious open layout with a comfortable queen bed, a pull-out sofa for extra guests, and everything you need for a simple and relaxing stay. While there’s no full kitchen, the suite includes a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker for your convenience. The private bathroom is clean and bright, and like the rest of the studio, it gets beautiful natural light throughout the day.

This is a great home base for exploring coastal San Diego. Whether you’re heading to the beach, hiking Torrey Pines, catching a show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, or just soaking up the view with your morning coffee, Sea & Sky invites you to slow down and settle in..

While we live on the property we like to give our guests space, but we are around to say hello and help out if anything arises.

Other things to note
Located in a charming, older coastal building full of character—and a few quirks. In the cooler winter months, we recommend bringing a cozy sweater and a pair of slippers, as the floors can get chilly.

The property is near a main road, so you may occasionally hear some street noise, along with the happy sounds of neighborhood dogs.

Please also note that there’s a slim ladder connecting the lower level to the sleeping loft. If you have mobility limitations, we recommend using the alternate entrance through the kitchen, which provides direct access to the bedroom area.
