Home was built in 2007, main open concept areas (living room, dinning and kitchen) have hardwood floors, bathrooms are elegantly designed and have towels available for quest, bedrooms are staged for comfort, kitchen is up graded with granite counters tops and stainless appliances. Appliances include: Stove, Oven, Microwave, Blender, Toaster, Coffee Maker, Mixer and Dishwasher. Utensils include knives, forks, plates, cups, glasses, pots, pan and trays. Home is air conditioned (house rules apply) and guest have access to in house laundry.

Renters will have access to Netflicks, Amazon prime, cable, internet, video vault and stereo. Use of equipment is provide in home. The 2 bedrooms have assigned baths for only use by renters. Each room has a ceiling fans for those who like a breeze when sleeping. Half closet space is provided in each room, closets are very large. One room has private bathroom suite. Second room will share common space bathroom. Common space bathroom is used by renters only for your privacy.

Off street parking is included in rental. Please note your on top the hill, to access the front door you will need to walk down a steep slope.

Owner will stop by to take care of garden after a week for yard cleaning, watering and maintenance.

Home/Apartment rentals differ from hotels. Home/Apartment offer full kitchens, and are more spacious and economical than hotels. On the other hand, an Home/Apartment is like your own home in that you provide your own toiletries (soap and shampoo), paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish washing soap, cleaning supplies and the like. Several stores are located within a nearby.

1. CHECK-IN & CHECK OUT. Check in is after 3 P.M. (local time) and check-out is before 11:00 A.M. (local time). NO Early check-ins or Late check-outs. Please plan accordingly as we do not have a leave-luggage facility.

2. NO SMOKING In Unit - This is a NON SMOKING Home/Apartment. There is a designated smoking area outside home, please do not leave cigarette butts on the grounds outside. No Smoking applies to cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes and like kinds.

3. PETS - Pets are not permitted in rental under any conditions, except with the written (including fax or email) separate agreement with the owner. There The owners assume no responsibility for illness or injury that may incur to pets or humans while on the premises.

4. DAMAGE FEES- Tenants shall be responsible for damages or an excess cleaning fee unless the following conditions are met.
a) No damage is done to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
b) No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or unpaid collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
c) All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in trash. Soiled dishes are cleaned.
d) All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
e) No linens are lost or damaged.
F) Air conditioner shall remain in Eco position unless agreed to otherwise by host through HomeAway.

5. Air conditioner use. the rental includes an air conditioner, the air conditioner is set at economical settings. The air conditioner is set at 66° to 73°, and hot days then it might be set at 75°. These settings are set to avoid electricity blackouts by SDG&E. Violation of the settings will result in loss of deposit, and owner may have the option to pursue funds to cover additional electricity cost.

By making reservation, guest acknowledges and agrees to all terms and conditions of the agreement. For guest's safety there are 2 outdoor security cameras covering the home entry ways.

THE SPACE: This private efficiency apartment is completely stand-alone, with its own bathroom, kitchenette, entrance, and patio. This unit was recently completely remodeled and is fresh and super clean.

You'll feel like you're at home with heating, AC, TV, Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchenette - it's large and features a refrigerator, 2-burner electric stove, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, cutlery, pans, pots, wine opener, can opener, salt/pepper, and paper towels. And we've pre-stocked the fridge with bottled water and fresh Starbucks coffee beans!

The single bedroom features a queen-sized bed with a brand new spring-coil mattress and high-quality bedding, a large closet, two nightstands, and two small cabinets to store your stuff. The sparkling bathroom is also stocked with towels, soap, shampoo & conditioner, has plenty of cabinets and storage, and has a Jacuzzi bathtub!

There is a washer/dryer on the premises. It is $5 a load, and detergent and dryer sheets are provided. You even have use of our outdoor BBQ (on the main patio).

For business travelers, we also offer wireless access to a laser printer and scanner.

GUEST ACCESS: The whole house! It has its own parking, entrance, courtyard, and an amazing view. (You are assigned one Guest Parking Space; for more vehicles, we have ample street parking.)

INTERACTIONS WITH GUESTS: We live next-door and are almost always home. We are just a text message away if you need anything at all. Our family is very friendly and enjoys interacting with our guests.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Our neighborhood is in the quiet suburbs of East San Diego County, a single-family residential area called El Cajon. It is super safe; in fact, we don't even lock our cars at night. The property is generally sunnier than the coast, while still enjoying easy access to beaches, mountains & deserts. Nearby restaurants, malls, and grocery stores in Santee (7 minutes away). Beach access is only about 25 minutes, on the 52 or the 8.

DRIVING: We are just a quick 4 minutes from the I-52 and I-8 freeways, providing easy access to everywhere.

TRANSIT: While a bus stop is just a 10-minute walk away, keep in mind that San Diego's public transportation system is terrible; you are far better off renting a car at the local Enterprise car rental place for approx. $25/day.

Nearby food options are extremely diverse, including BBQ, Mexican, burgers, global cuisines from Japanese to Lebanese, and major chains such as Denny's, Mimi's, Olive Garden, Starbucks. It is just 30 minutes away from the beaches at La Jolla Cove, La Jolla Shores, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, and Mission Bay.

- "This was a hard experience for us with mixed emotions. I knew it was a new listing so it was a risk to stay with limited reviews. The home is dated which isn’t a problem. The host could spend more time setting the house up for guests using the kitchen and cleaning. We had furniture fall apart, a towel bar fall off the wall, and all the kitchen items were poorly organized, often dirty so we had to rewash everything before we used it. There was a ton of glassware and items for use, items just all piled in and not organized. The dishwasher was not functional, it wasn’t strapped in and would fall forward if you loaded it. Also this would cause it to unlatch so the wash cycle would stop. I was uncomfortable and reported out issues to VRBO to ensure we would not be responsible for problems in the home. I wanted to find somewhere else to stay but was stuck since last minute changes are so expensive or unavailable. The host replied they would refund but nothing has been seen so I have to follow up. There is a caretaker on the property that use the outside bathroom. I didn’t remember seeing this on the listing. They were quiet and did not disturb us but it was odd to see others moving around if you’re not expecting it. The pool is beautiful. Unfortunately the spa did not work during our stay since it needed service, so that was disappointing. We brought pool floats and toys/ outdoor games with us. The game room/garage is nice, the beverage fridge was not for guests."

The suite is attached on the side of the house, but it's completely separate with its own private entrance with enclosed outdoor seating. There is a door that connects the hall to the rest of the house that is locked. Pets (maximum of 3) are allowed!

Our quiet neighborhood is an 8-min walk from a huge park with playground and dog park and only 20 min drive from beaches, downtown, Sea World, and the Zoo.

The suite includes two queen bedrooms, hallway with supplies, and full bathroom with shower/bathtub.

It was very clean and I was especially thankful for the bright lighting throughout. The living room was comfortable and the table and chairs supplied an extra workspace. I did a lot of cooking and there wasn't a thing I needed, that wasn't provided. Crock pot, blender, toaster, keurig, baking pans, frying pans, pots and pans. There was also a wide variety of utensils, silverware and updated refridgerator, gas stove and washer and dryer. It was completely what I needed for my extended stay. It had a private grassy backyard area and a gas grill. I would highly recommend John's place to anyone wanting a place to stay in a quiet safe neighborhood a few minutes to the freeway."

- "The house was very warm when we arrived. The AC was individual units and they were off. The batteries in the remotes for the AC had to be replaced. There were ants in the bathroom and elsewhere in the house that we ended up spraying for. The bed was very hard. The dial on the dryer was missing."

- "The street was really an alley. No mention of how narrow it was on listing. There were 9 adults and 4 children staying 2 nights. No extra towels or blankets. Nothing explaining how to use the thermostat. I got up around 11pm and wentinto the kitchen to find a vistor. It was either a large mouse or a small rat!! We could not find where is was gaining access into the house. We would have left if there had been another option. I messaged property manager through the site. No response. It was our first and last time using an app like this. We will stick to hotels from now on. "

This condo is located near Fashion Valley Mall, not El Cajon. We are centrally located and within a mile of restaurants, shops, and the trolley. You’ll love it because of the view and the proximity to downtown, beaches, shopping, and freeways.

The space
The loft is perfect for solo adventurers and business travelers looking to save on accommodations while in town. Although there aren't any doors or walls to the loft there is a sense of privacy when up there.

Please feel free to access the living room, patio, and kitchen. There's a Kuerig machine for coffee as well as a coffee grinder and french press that you may help yourself to.

When multiple tenants are sharing the space the common areas are disinfected bi-weekly. In the meantime, it is your responsibility to clean up after yourself and clean as needed out of respect for your housemates. Welcome to our charming private studio in the Granite Hills neighborhood of El Cajon! El Cajon is a suburb of San Diego City, and Granite Hills is at the edge of El Cajon's beautiful foothills.

Walk down a short garden path to your private gate entrance. Follow the flagstone path to your own private patio lined with citrus trees.

Passing throught the sliding glass door, you'll enter your little studio. It has a large vaulted ceiling, tile floors, and plentiful natural light. The space is soothing with a calm seashore vibe.

Relax on the queen sized memory foam mattress, with your choice of pillows. Watch a show on the 43" smart TV. Enjoy a meal at the small dinette table or at the shaded patio table outside. The bedroom also has a celing fan and upon request we can provide a portable fan.

The kitchenette is stocked with dishes, knives, a few basic utensils, a microwave, a mini-fridge (with freezer section at the top), and a Keurig coffee maker. Enjoy pure reverse osmosis water straight from the dedicated tap. Coffee pods, tea, and sweetener are all conveniently available at the countertop.

The bathroom is equipped with a large shower and a bidet. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided, and there is a blow dryer if you need one.

There is a folding luggage rack, hangers, an iron, and an ironing board for your use.

We (2 adults and our children) live in the attached main house (attached but separate) We have a labradoodle that is free to wander on our side of the fenced yard but she usually stays inside the house.

The room is heated and cooled by the main house heating and air conditioning units. We usually keep it at about 75-77 degrees. The room also has its own small space heater and a portable AC unit so you can maintain your own preferred room temperature.

We do our best to give guests their privacy and will contact you if it ever becomes necessary to enter your outdoor space (for watering the trees etc.).

We have a maximum occupancy of 2 guests in the studio (an infant is also acceptable though we do not provide a baby bed).

We don't allow smoking, marijuana, drugs, parties or disruptive behavior.

Harbison Canyon is a peaceful little village nestled in between the towns of El Cajon and Alpine. It is mostly residential, with just one business, a small market about a block from our home. It is conveniently located about 30 minutes from San Diego, with its world famous beaches, zoo and museums. It is also about 30 minutes from the Cuyamaca mountains, with many hiking trails, a beautiful lake and the old gold mining town of Julian.

One thing our guests notice immediately is the ability to see the stars at night!

Bikers of all kinds, frequently go by on Harbison Canyon Road, which is part of a larger biking loop.

Harbison Canyon, a little hamlet between the towns of El Cajon and Alpine, California was named for John Stewart Harbison who was actually a bee keeper who moved here in 1874. After 7 years he was reported to be the largest honey producer in the world. Harbison Canyon has an old reputation of being a biker haven with Big Oak Ranch and home to a nudist colony called the Swallows! The Ranch has been closed for years, but the Swallows is still there, rebuilt after the 2003 Cedar Fire that burned it to the ground. You can't help craning your neck a little as you drive by, even tho' the new fence is pretty solid! Nowadays there's not much going on here, although bikers of all kinds like to bike through our little scenic byway, stopping only to buy refreshment at the Canyon Store, a short walk from our place. Across the street from the store is Old Ironsides Park which boasts a nearly year-round stream, beautiful oak trees, 3 playgrounds, picnic area and old Kumeyaay Indian relics which can be found near the stream.

So, hike, bike or drive yourself to our little haven and say goodbye to the hustle and bustle!

Friendly and quiet neighbors (that you might see sometimes) in a couple other studios located on the property. You might occasionally even hear some classical music coming from a piano studio located next door.

Entrance to the house has a gate that is locked at night for extra security even though this is considered a safe neighborhood. A key is provided for late night or early morning access.
All kinds of stores, restaurants, fast food, banks, churches, gas stations and even a casino are all very close, as well as a health club. Two different shopping malls with movie theaters are located about 3 miles away. In case you don't want to or have time to use the washer and dryer that is available on the premises, a laundry facility is only a mile away that has a drop-off and folding service.
Please give advance notice if you are bringing a pet so we can provide a pet bed and bowls if needed. Depending on the size and kind of pet and the length of your stay, I might ask for a refundable pet deposit which will be billed separately through Airbnb upon mutual agreement.

Hi, since we're close to everything but just a handful of homes outside the city limits (exactly 1 mile from a large intersection), this is almost like coming out to the country. Just another mile up the road, and you will start seeing beautiful hills, valleys, open meadows, golf courses, reservoirs, farms etc. etc.

Please do not be surprised by the occasional howl of a coyote at night or the crowing of a crazy rooster in the morning or the rare sight of a possum, tree squirrel or rat, skunk, mouse, rabbit, owl, hawk, crow, lizard or other critter that might have decided to hang out in the neighborhood for a while. You might be lucky and hear and see the huge flock of green parakeets that escaped from the San Diego Zoo many years ago that sometimes visit our area.

You might also sometimes see some sheep, goats, horses, donkeys or peacocks on other neighbor's properties (we haven't seen any lately but you never know when some will appear, especially on the huge 10 acre lot at the last intersection before our property). We never hear any noises here coming from these animals.

Just like any other place in San Diego and probably the whole world, you might also occasionally see some ants, bees, flies, moths, mosquitoes, termites, spiders or other insects, but please do not be alarmed or freak out (like I do haha, and that's why we usually don't have them around here). Just let us know as soon as possible and we will remove them for you if possible. We spray the perimeter of the building on a regular basis with natural-based insect eradicators and try to keep everybody safe and happy from bites and itching. Fortunately, we do NOT have roaches or bedbugs, so if you find some, they came in with you in a shopping bag or in your luggage from another location. Oh, and just in case, if a pet had come to stay with some previous guest, we will treat and disinfect the unit for fleas as a precaution before anybody else moves in.

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space that is upstairs with a balcony. We hope you like sunflowers because this is chock full of them and gives the place a bright and happy vibe! We are pet friendly and accept small, quiet, housebroken and friendly ones up to 30 pounds with a refundable deposit. This studio is just outside city limits in a very big house, but is a completely private unit with a separate entrance up an outside spiral staircase. Enjoy the beautiful sunset views!

You’ll love our 2nd floor Master Bedroom Suite in our eclectic Pueblo style home. Private balcony, bath, Jacuzzi tub & double shower. We are far enough from the city to be peaceful & stargaze, but close enough to San Diego's attractions. Come rest & rejuvenate your soul at your home away from home, Mystic Canyon Inn!

The space
The Master Suite with its own private bath is located on the second floor of our Pueblo style home and is perfect for a couples getaway. The king-sized bed is a medium density memory foam mattress with gel top, (so that it doesn’t overheat) on a massaging base and so very comfortable! The mattress is split in the middle so that each sleeper can control his or her side individually with their own remote control. (Don’t worry, you can still cuddle!) All this makes for a luxurious night’s sleep!

For a 3rd guest, or upon request we can add a twin size rollaway bed.

The Master Suite also has its own mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker.

We have 2 other rooms on this floor of the house that are rented separately. This room is the only one with private bath and balcony and is the first door at the top of the stairs.

Our home is eclectic, country, relaxed and homey. We have a cat as well as chickens. Our property has a wild, natural, laid back feeling. If you are looking for a sterile, manicured, pristine hotel environment, respectfully, this may not be the place for you! If you like roosters crowing, coyotes howling, stars shining, unique decor and a positive energy vibe, then you will love our place!

The master bathroom has a dual head shower, a deep sunken Jacuzzi tub, dual Talavera sinks and a toilet room with separate door for privacy. We also have a jetted hot tub on the back patio of the house that is available for guest use. You can stargaze while you soak! Let us know if you’d like to use it and we will turn up the temperature!

The room has a TV with cable and WiFi.

Outside the double French doors is your large private balcony with a fabulous view, complete with two lounge chairs, a sofa and a patio table with chairs. Roll down shades and turn the balcony into an extra room!

Downstairs is a living room with gas fireplace, for relaxing, playing board games or chatting with other guests.

We live downstairs in a separate area with our cat Aria who loves to greet our guests. Please let us know if you are uncomfortable with animals.

We are located in Harbison Canyon, a rural community on the east side of El Cajon, near Alpine.

We offer you cofee, tea, oatmeal and muffins to get something in your belly before you take off for an adventure. On our back patio we have set up an a camping style rustic outdoor kitchen for our guests' use. In the house entryway, we have a table set up with Keurig beverages and water that is available 24 hrs.

Come enjoy the countryside, conveniently located just 35 minutes from downtown San Diego and popular tourist attractions like Comic-Con, the San Diego Zoo and the world-famous beaches. 35 minutes east you will find beautiful Mount Laguna, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, Pacific Crest Trail access and the town of Julian. About an hour east brings you to the desert, where natural beauty and recreation abound. 13 miles away, Viejas Casino boasts a beautiful outlet center. 4 miles away, Sycuan has a casino with entertainment and the golf resort of Singing Hills. Come enjoy the slower pace of the San Diego backcountry.

Harbison Canyon, a little hamlet between the towns of El Cajon and Alpine, California was named for John Stewart Harbison who was actually a bee keeper who moved here in 1874. After 7 years he was reported to be the largest honey producer in the world. Harbison Canyon has an old reputation of being a biker haven with Big Oak Ranch and home to a nudist colony called the Swallows! The Ranch has been closed for years, but the Swallows is still there, rebuilt after the 2003 Cedar Fire that burned it to the ground. You can't help craning your neck a little as you drive by, even tho' the new fence is pretty solid! Nowadays there's not much going on here, although bikers of all kinds like to bike through our little scenic byway, stopping only to buy refreshment at the Canyon Store, a short walk from our place. Across the street from the store is Old Ironsides Park which boasts a nearly year-round stream, beautiful oak trees, 3 playgrounds, picnic area and old Kumeyaay Indian relics which can be found near the stream.

So, hike, bike or drive yourself to our little haven and say goodbye to the hustle and bustle!

First, the living room features a cozy sofa, smart TV, and workspace. Secondly, the Kitchen and Dining area is equipped with brand-new stainless steel appliances and fully stocked items for all your cooking needs. Lastly, the private master bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, 2 Twin folding beds, a closet, a mirror dresser, and a bathroom.

Minutes from all San Diego has to offer, this lovely 600 sq. ft. apt is newly redecorated, secluded, bright, with a skylight, 2 sliding glass doors, large private patio & designed with mementos and photos from your hosts travels around the world! Fully equipped kitchen & full bath. Shopping, dining, & attractions located within a 5 to 30 minute drive. The space
The 600 square-foot residence has been newly painted and features new flooring, a new furniture, large windows throughout, plus a skylight and sliding glass doors letting in the great California sunshine. The space has been tastefully designed with an international flair with mementos and photos from your hosts’ travels from around the world.
The kitchen is fully equipped with and tools you might need to make delicious meals and all the kitchen ware you need to serve them. Enjoy eating inside at the 2 seat table or head out doors to savor your meals on your patio.

The living area features a large, smart TV, as well as a two seat couch with reclining seats and cupholders The center consul offers a charger for your telephone. The bedroom, which has direct access to your patio, features a full size bed and a large closet. Both the living area and the Bedroom have ceiling fans. Two separate bed linen sets….. one for people who don’t have pets or have pet sensitivities!

The full bathroom features a roomie shower and plenty of storage space —and it is fully stocked with toiletries.

Your host has provided beach towels, beach chairs, as well as a beach umbrella for your enjoyment on the lovely San Diego beaches.

You will have your own single car parking space near the sidewalk that leads directly to your private patio and your private entrance into the apartment.

Other things to note
The property is up a very long private driveway and while in a residential neighborhood feels very private and secluded. We are off of a main road so you may notice some traffic noise. Please use caution entering and leaving the long driveway.
