Absolutely! The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials—plates, bowls, utensils, wine glasses, and cookware. We also have a single-cup Keurig, coffeemaker, toaster and microwave for your convenience. Outside, there’s a BBQ ready for grilling provided. In addition, our home features a cozy family bar with bar stools by the window, where you can unwind and continue your wine tasting with friends.

Do you have a hot tub?

Yes, we do! You can relax in the hot tub after a day of exploring. We kindly ask that you take care of it, as there may be an additional cleaning fee if it’s not left in good condition. There is no charge to use it.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, our home is family-friendly, but there are a few things to keep in mind. We have a small camping tent for the kids to enjoy, but please be aware that there are stairs inside the house and a pool table, so children should be supervised.

Are there any games or activities at the house?

Yes! In addition to the hot tub, we have a pool table, a private putting green where you can practice your golf skills, and a small camping tent for the kids to enjoy some indoor & outdoor adventure.

This charge is necessary due to the remote location of our property and the associated costs of transporting propane. We appreciate your understanding.

The POOL heating is available at $400 per day and will be on 15 hours per day from 7am to 10pm. Takes 18 hrs. to be ready and needs 24 hour notice. Please contact host to arrange payment.

The Lilacs was the FIRST VRBO listing on Palomar Mountain in historic Bailey Meadows (near but not part of Bailey Meadow Resort, which is currently closed). We've been on VRBO since 2005 and still open for a romantic getaway, serene encounter with a nature or a quiet, comfy family retreat.
We do have a caretaker living at the back, opposite side of the entry at a lower level, but on the property, so please be respectful and remember the quiet hours 8PM-8AM.

The Lilacs is a beautifully restored, cozy 1920's Redwood cabin on Palomar Mountain just 1:25 minutes from San Diego. The cabin has 1) Master bedroom, 2) a small room with desk/dresser & ladder to the LOFT for the adventurous sleepers, plus 3) a futon sofa-bed in main living room, where there is the original rock hearth. ALSO a large, full-glassed in, sun room, a complete kitchen (new stainless steel stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/drier, cookware and more).

Grandma Bailey's cabin turned 100 in 2024!... and is simply FULL of fun, atmosphere, historic knickknacks and special vibes.

The original Redwood walls and timbers were hand-assembled by craftsmen 100 years ago. I restored it all and worked hard to preserve the original character and charm; including the hand-made cabinets, plank walls & doors. Then I totally upgraded the bathrooms and kitchen.

The cabin is located on the ever-peaceful Evergreen Trail in the Bailey Meadows area, by most accounts the most historic and quaint part of Palomar Mountain (a heavy day of traffic on Evergreen Trail is 2-4 cars a day). Sorry, this is not a place for parties, absolutely none.

Besides relaxing, there is lots of scenic outing and lots to do on Palomar and the surrounding region.

IF YOU ARE FROM SAN DIEGO: Palomar is a piece of High Sierras environment just 1.5 hours from down town. Amazing what SD County has to offer! This Cabin sits on the cozy, shaded side of the mountain. Palomar Mt. State Park is awesome and just 5 minutes away. World-famous Palomar Observatory, Julian (the 1800's quaint Gold mining town) and Anza Borrego State Park, are scenic drives close enough for an outing. We are near to the Bailey's Resort on Palomar, but without the traffic or campers or congestion of Idyllwild, Big Bear, Julian or Lake Arrowhead, and less expensive too.

IF YOUR ARE FROM OUT OF San Diego: There are many activities within an hour of Palomar Mt... Beaches about 1.5 hr away, Safari Park (Wild Animal Park), Lego Land: plus and more. Sea World and Disneyland and Tijuana, Mexico are all doable in less than 2 hr drive.

• POOL
There is no fence around the pool. While kids and young children are welcome, it needs to be understood that the kids can get into the pool directly from any doors of the house.

Currently, the pool is NOT heated. The hot tub is hot at no additional fee.

Chateau Evie James is cooled and heated by central heating and air conditioning through the house to keep you comfortable all year long.

• LOFT
The loft is an open space on the second floor. There is a pullout full size bed (also known as a double). There are no doors and it is a completely open space with TV. It could be a great place for the kiddos to sleep but may not be the most comfortable for adults since there is no privacy.

• FIRE
Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no open flames fire policy BUT the propane fire pit located outside is allowed.
If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, in a fire pit, using fireworks or other open fire (propane excluded when used IN the propane firepit and propane grill provided) means your rental agreement will be terminated and there is a $200 fine.

• HOT TUB + POOL - legal
There is no fence around the pool. While kids and young children are welcome, it needs to be understood that the kids can get into the pool directly from the back doors of the house.

Guest agrees to release, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge Host and Host's employees, agents, successors and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities or causes of action of any kind that guest, members of guest's household or guest's guests or invitees may have at any time against Host or Host's agents resulting from guest's use of the pool and hot tub.

• GUESTS
You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests.

By renting this property, guest acknowledges that they have read, understand and accept the terms listed above.

Recently upgraded with nice and clean modern tile and laminate flooring throughout. 5 bedrooms, Living room Family room and a hugeeee bonus entertainment area. Each bedroom as a queen bed and the common area has 4 sofas for comfortable seating and/ or crashing in. Two bedrooms are downstairs and there are three full baths with tubs for soaking and relaxing in. And there are 3 toilets too for the ease and privacy of all the guests being able to get ready quickly and all together for those special occasions and for just enjoying and relaxing on your trip.

Large kitchen with granite counters, stainless steel appliances, fully equipped and stocked with all the amenities for enjoying those meals, local wines and just chilling with family and friends making memories!
Gather together in the two entertainment areas and the large outdoor seating patio area, all nicely set up for that outdoor California dining and relaxation in the beautiful warm days and evenings. It’s well-stocked with dishes as well as spices, olive oil, butter, condiments, sugar, flour, and coffee. the water is wonderful and comes straight from the aquifer, no need to bring bottled water.

The temperature in the RV stays comfortable with heat and air conditioning, depending on where you like it, and the faucets and bathrooms are hooked directly into our septic system.

The Big Country RV is 400 square feet and practically new. The folks we bought it from used it once and then we took it up to McMinnville, Oregon for two months. The king bed is very comfortable, and the shower is full-sized (my husband is 6’4” and fits very well).

It has one bedroom with a full bed, a TV and two small closets for clothes. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet.
The kitchen has a gas stove, Keurig Coffee maker, mini-oven, and microwave, along with a good-sized fridge/freezer. It’s stocked with dishes as well as salt, pepper, and a few spices, olive oil, condiments, sugar, and coffee. The well water is wonderful and comes straight from the aquifer, no need to bring bottled water.

The space is perfect for 2! The Vintage includes 1 couch, a dinette, outdoor chairs, chase lounge chairs, and an eating area in your own private fenced-in area.

The temperature in the RV stays comfortable with heat and air conditioning, depending on where you like it, and the faucets and bathrooms are hooked directly into our septic system.

Chick-Ranch has 3 separate units that may be occupied during your stay. Each unit has a separate outdoor area that is for exclusive use guests within that unit. Owner lives on property, in the 4th unit, attached to the main house. You will see owner feeding and chasing animals.



Thing to note: Being a working property that needs a lot of staff, you might see the manager, owner, or other maintenance personnel during your stay. Since we do not have their schedule, we are unable to let you know in advance when they will be there. Therefore, we kindly ask for your patience if you do happen to see them.



Riverside County requires all vacation rentals to be equipped with a noise monitoring device that measures decibels of sound. There are devices indoors and outdoors for compliance reasons to deter excessive noise. Please note these device do NOT record private conversations, it simply detects excessive noise by decibel level. Tampering or removing this device triggers an alert to property manager and could result in $50 fine if device is taken offline, $250 if damaged or lost. This device can protect you from false claims of loud noise during your stay. Thank you for understanding and complying.

This house is located downtown Perris, Cardenas market 2 blocks away, gas station and a famous restaurant (Ixtapa) right in front, this is an old house, built in 1953, the living room, dining room, one bedroom and kitchen where recently remodeled, one of the bedrooms and the bathroom are pending for remodeling, the house is super clean and cozy, but please consider it is an extremely old house that has defects, floor squeaks and bathroom is not remodeled.
