- "Nice, quiet location with large fully stocked kitchen. Nice size bathrooms and an outside shower downstairs. Plenty of seating for our family and extra large closet for Master where we stored all our stuff. Could have put a kid on a pallet in there since there was a window in there too. It was nice also to have front door and double back door. Plenty of parking for all of us. Older home but has been remodeled. Pull out couch in living room is fine for kids but would not recommend for adults. Thanks!"

Other things to note

You do have to climb stairs to get to the upper level where all the bedrooms are.

There are people who maintain the property that you might run into during your stay! The landscaping crew comes every week and pest services come regularly. The pool is serviced generally on Tuesday mornings.

We live adjacent to a nature preserve. It is great for bird and wildlife watching and unplugging from the hustle and bustle. We take every precaution to keep pests and animals off the property, but if the occasional bug venturing indoors, or the possibility of encountering raccoons, possums, or snakes in the neighborhood is unacceptable to you, Laguna D’Oro may not be the best vacation spot for you. Otherwise please come enjoy the small-town charm and beauty of Mother Nature, tucked next to these beautiful wetlands.

**For the safety of you and local wildlife, please make sure all trash is fully in trash receptacles and that they are fully closed.

POOL

Pool hours are 8am-9pm. This neighborhood has many working folks and retirees, so we ask that you respect and honor their neighborhood while you are visiting.

We love that the pool feels like an extension of nature. We have placed it right on the water and under a batch of beautiful bamboo that give you privacy while not loosing the natural beauty around you.

We do have the pool professionally serviced, but because of its proximity to nature, leaves, bugs and other natural things find their way into the pool regularly.

Please read and adhere to all Pool Rules before using.

DOCK

We love our large brand new dock and know you will too. 18 ft x 30 ft is plenty of space for everyone to cast a line. This is our favorite spot to drink coffee in the morning while the sunrise bounces off the water. We do not generally use it for boating, but you are welcome to tie off if that suits you!

Please read and adhere to all Pool Rules before using. Additional rules
- No parties or events allowed.
- Please respect the noise curfew. Jamaica Beach is a vacation community with many families. Following city ordinances, a strict 10pm-7am quiet hours are enforced.
- One dog allowed. Must be under 40 lbs. Dog must be house broken and crate trained. DOGS CANNOT BE LEFT ON PROPERTY ALONE, UNLESS PROPERLY CRATED. Please clean all pet waste.
-We love our furry babies and to travel with them. However we have to keep our property safe for future guests as well, including those with animal allergies. For this purpose, we must charge an additional $100 cleaning fee for a hypo-allergenic cleaning if their are any animals brought onto the property.
- No smoking allowed indoors. If you smoke outdoors please do so more than 10 ft from entrances. A $200 cleaning fee will be added if smoking of any substance is found indoors.
- When coming in from the beach we ask that everyone rinses off in our private outdoor shower before showering indoors. Sand is very tough on the plumbing. Also, please rinse and allow any beach toys or equipment before replacing them in the house.
- Please leave the heating or air system running even when you are out to help with moisture control.
- Suitable for toddlers and children under 12. We have provided infant safe outlets, a safety gate on the balcony, and child locks under the sink cabinet. But please do check decorations and other items to raise anything not suitable to your age child.
- No unregistered guests allowed.
- Please don’t eat or drink in the bedrooms.
- Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10am. You will be assigned a unique entrance code to access the property. For all our guests' and cleaners' safety, these codes will only be activated five minutes before check in time and will stop working 5 minutes after check out time.
- Please take care of the furnishings. You are responsible for any damages.
- Please don’t rearrange the furniture.
- Please rinse and place used dishes in the dish washer.
- Please take the trash out before you leave. Do not put trash in the trashcan if the lid will not close. This will attract raccoons. If you have more trash than fits in receptacles, please contact us to help remove. Trash service is on Monday and Thursday.
- No illegal substances allowed on the premises.
- Do not grill under balcony.

Cameras

Exterior cameras only are at each entrance, both for guests' and property's security. Cameras are not monitored but are motion activated and recording. Non-recording, decibel monitoring devices are in common spaces.

- "We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Pelican so much. The location was great on the bay side of the island, about 6-8 minutes from town and secluded enough to not worry with a lot of noise. The house is just beautiful with all the amenities anyone would need. One suggestion of needing a toilet paper holder in the downstairs bedroom's en suite and a short instruction of the elevator. We were only 2 couples as one couple could not come at the last minute. We wish we could have shared it with several others. We will definitely be back again as we enjoyed the things we did in Galveston, but there is so much more to see and do."

We do not furnish foods of any kind such as seasonings, condiments, etc grilling supplies such as fluid, charcoal, personal soaps such as shampoo body wash, etc. or cleaning supplies such as dish soap, laundry soap, etc. B. A "starter" supply of paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, etc. are in each unit, the renter is responsible for additional products during their stay. C. Beach and Pool items: towels, chairs, umbrellas, sun block, repellents and toys!

Long Time No Sea is a newly renovated paradise for family and friends. Walk out on the front deck to enjoy your cup of coffee or dinner overlooking the bay. Centrally located making it easy to get around town and enjoy everything Galveston has to offer.

The homes open design allows for a comfortable setting with views. The kitchen is fully equipped to have a relaxing dinner at home or at one of the award winning seafood restaurants on the island. The main room has a king bed with a 54”Smart TV, Alexa and phone chargers. The second room has a bunk bed with full on bottom and twin on top - with easy access stairs to help aide safety. Noise machine and oscillating fan allows for a comfortable sleep.

Newly added third bedroom suite sits downstairs with a private 1/2 bathroom and queen bed. The suite DOES NOT have access from Main house. It is separated, you access it from outside. It sits on ground floor of home. There is a separate keypad on the door for the bedroom that automatically locks when you leave.

The home backs up to a nature reserve that boast the best sunset on the island. You can take a stroll down the street to put in your kayak for fishing in west bay or bring your golf clubs to enjoy a nice round at Moody Gardens. If you are looking to hang out and enjoy all the amenities of the island we are minutes away from the following; beach, mini golf, cinema, bait shops, surf fishing pier, Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens, Buffalo Grille, Evia green space for kids, playground, Galveston convention center and Sugar Bean coffee shop. On the weekends Evia has pop up shops that boast the best boutiques around town.

The home includes wifi access, charging stations for cell phones. Each room has blinds and black out shades to allow for a good nights sleep. The newly renovated bathroom has a waterfall shower with toiletries provided. The addition of a downstairs shower with hot/cold water allows for easy clean off when coming back from the beach.

Near the Causeway with easiest access to and from the mainland and located on Offats Bayou with quick boat access to West Bay. Great yard for family games or relax on one of three decks overlooking the canal. After a busy day soak in the large garden tub with all of the amenities.

We offer all the amenities of home. Furnished kitchen for all your dining needs including cooking basics. There is a gas grill available on the lower deck for your use. Washer and dryer are available for your use and are located in the coffee bar area. There is even a wine fridge for your favorite wines or bubbly! WiFi and Smart TV are located in the large, comfy living area and there is a small office area located in one of the bedrooms. One bedroom is located on the ground floor with separate access and its own private bath.

The main floor of the home is accessed by stairways on the front and back of the home. The bottom floor bedroom is accessed through a locking door and has French doors with a view of the canal. There is no access to the main floor from the downstairs bedroom except by the outside stairs. The whole house is yours to use!

Take caution when accessing the third floor deck over the boathouse. Children should be supervised and are encouraged to wear life jackets when on the decks or near the canal. The boat and boat lift are not available for use.

Absolutely NO DIVING into the canal! There is a ladder on the dock that can be used to enter and exit the canal if you choose to swim, float or kayak. You may tie your boat up to our dock.

The garage is not available for guest use but there is room to park three vehicles in the driveway.

As providence would have it, the power came back on less than an hour after we checked in and stayed on all weekend. We caught fish off the back dock, and had everything we needed all weekend. We had a power problem that ended up being the local utility company problem, but he was there, and stayed close untill it was fixed. And even though it wasnt his fault, he insisted on compensation. This Galveston waterfront home is right off the Causeway as you enter Galveston on Laguna De Oro. Quick access to the bay for water activities like fishing, boating, or swimming. We offer a strong Wi-Fi signal and DIRECTV, reduced rates due to still under renovations. The new improvements include floors, new paint inside and out, and updated appliances. The house features a large porch overlooking Laguna De Oro with a beautiful sunset. Swimming in the lagoon is allowed, but swim at your own risk.

- "Was a nice rental that fit all 8 of us. Check in was easy, and the house was well equipped. Enough beds for all of us. Large bathtub in the master bathroom that easily fits me and I’m 6’2” 250lbs. One downfall to the place was we didn’t realize there was a spiral staircase to get to the downstairs bedroom. Not a huge issue, but one of the people in our party has hip issues so it was easier for them to just use the normal stairs outside to transverse levels in the home."

Have fun with the whole family at this stylish place. House sits on the ocean canals of Bayou Vista,12 mins to Galveston. Beautiful deck and water access from your back door. House sleeps 8 people. You will love fishing or paddle boarding from your private backyard dock or sit and relax on sun loungers from the large elevated deck, while listening to music from the outdoor blue tooth speakers. The house has three bedrooms, and three bathrooms. One bedroom with a private attached bathroom, a second bedroom with a bunkbed, a twin bed and a trundle bed and the third is on the main level. This home has three paddle boards and four life jackets to explore the canals. It also has two sun loungers on the elevated deck, patio table and chairs and a crab trap with an underwater fishing light off the deck. Third bedroom is a private ground level suite with attached bathroom. This room accesses the rest of the house by outdoor steps. Come make some memories! The house is currently for sale.

- "Really lovely home on the canals. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. Fabulous communication with the owner, during the booking process, before our stay and while in the house.They kept us up to date with water issues that were going on and had a hairdryer and iron/board delivered within hours of us asking for them. It was the perfect space for our family of 5 with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a huge kitchen area, comfortable lounge and laundry facilities. There was plenty of soap and shampoo products, laundry detergent and dishwashing detergent. There was lots of towels and extra bedding should they be needed. While the house had a very spacious deck and covered area with a ping pong table. It would have been nice to have a few more lounge type chairs to accommodate all 5 of us. We did not use the kayaks or fishing gear - but it was great to know they were there. If there were two things I would suggest that would make the house perfect….. it would be an info booklet for the house and local restaurants/point of interest/shopping etc and more mirrors, especially a full length one. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and April was the perfect host."

- "We were in town for the Ironman 70.3 triathlon and wanted a quiet place to stay. My husband doesn't race, but loves to fish, so I thought this would be a perfect place for both of us ... and it was. We loved the out-of-the-way location, and the views are wonderful. Communications with property manager were very good. Cottage was clean and bed was comfortable. Fishing pier was great to have. Lots of birds to observe, although those darn laughing gulls are quite noisy. I would highly recommend this home."
