The room was large, clean, well-decorated with a well-designed small kitchen. What really made our holiday was the kind and generous attention of the owner herself. She really put herself out to help us with some arrangements we needed to make outside the Residence. She had no obligation whatsoever to do this (it was nothing to do with the Residence itself) but she took it on herself to sort things out for us, and even took us to where we needed to be locally on more than one occasion."

However the hotel was about a mile from the village and there was no safe footpath to walk." - "Hotel in the mountains, we chose this because it showed rooms with balconies overlooking the mountains but we were put in a room with no balcony in the back with other people's houses looking down at us, no privacy. Manager also put us on an upper floor room and didn't offer a lower floor as she watched two 65 plus year old try to drag our suitcase up the stairs. Also they claim to have a restaurant but it is not open. This was the only hotel we regretted staying at in our 2 month trip staying at 6 other hotels in Europe"

- "We had a really great time during the heatwave in the South of France. The nice pool was between 25-27 degrees and very refreshing because the outside temperature was above 35. Inside the house is airconditioning in the kitchen and livingroom, not in de sleepingrooms, it was a bit too hot to sleep. We walked to the village in the morning for bread and a cappuccino at Chez Ma’mie, had lunch and diner at the house with amazing view. Good WiFi in de livingroom, outside and in the kitchen. - "We travelled from London for a 10 night stay at the sheepfold with our small dog and it was absolutely wonderful. The property itself is basic, but true to the photos so we knew this - and in a location like this you don't go to spend your time inside anyway! It was a great base for exploring the local area and surrounding villages but the pool was also a great place to relax when we wanted days with less activity. The weather was extremely hot for our visit so we made great use of the pool which was just fabulous! Our only comment would be that some instructions on keeping the pool clean would have been helpful as towards the end of our stay it did go a little green and we had no idea about pool maintenance. To be fair, I am sure the owners would have helped us with this if we had asked but as there was only a couple of days left we decided not to bother them. I highly recommend the sheepfold for those looking for a relaxing break. We did not want to leave!"
