The 500 m ² plot is completely fenced and the parking space for car or motorcycle is located on the property. It is in a great location, dogs are welcome (7.50 € per day and dog)

Our house is located in the immediate vicinity of the forest, on the international cycle path R 1 in a quiet location. It therefore offers an ideal starting point for cycling, mountain biking and of course hiking in the beautiful Harz.
Popular destinations are z. B. the Brocken (can also be reached with the Harzquerbahn), the Steinerne Renne, the monk book that Waldgasthaus Plessenburg and the Ilse cases. The trails to Wernigerode and Ilsenburg or to the Brocken are well signposted. In just 5 minutes but you can also Wernigerode, reach the 'colorful town at the Harz', with its half-timbered old town, the neo-Gothic castle and the town hall or Ilsenburg by car.
Other excursion tips are the Hexentanzplatz in Thale with summer toboggan run, the cathedral treasure in Halberstadt and Quedlinburg, the western town in Hasselfelde, the stalactite caves in Rübeland, the Rappbodetalsperre or the castle ruins Regenstein in Blankenburg.

We were on a motorcycle tour of the Harz mountains and it served us very well. It is very clean and airy and we even had a view of the castle from our room. - "Fantastic place. Not fancy, but clean, friendly and just a great stay! Restaurant closed Mondays, but a nearby restaurant "Klippe" took care of us:-) after dark, we had to figure out to use the side door with our key card, but got it to work. - "This is a lovely place to stay. Kathrin the owner very friendly and helpful, her English is excellent. The hotel is beautifully decorated and you can buy toiletries, snacks and drinks. Comfy bed, nice pillows, decent WiFi. Shower took a while to warm up but was excellent when it did. Effective and easy to adjust heating. The breakfast buffet is superb. Theres no lift but there are some ground floor rooms and at worst you have to go up 2 flights of stairs. The hotel is on a quiet street but gets some noise from the nearby main road and railway station. It is a 2 minute walk from the railway station but about 1km walk into the center of Wernigerode. Theres a few places to eat within a 5-10 minute walk. Overall its a lovely place to stay and i would be delighted to return "

The visitor receives a first impression of the beautiful old town of Wernigerode and is cordially invited to explore. On the other hand, the window front to the courtyard, where baths and kitchens of the guest apartments are located, allows a wonderful view of the castle Wernigerode (except in the apartment city hall). You will experience an impressive panorama especially in the summer evening hours, when the castle is bathed in warm sunlight and emerges from the tops of the coniferous forest. Even in the snowy season, Wernigerode Castle shows its wintry charm and attracts visitors from its cozy accommodations.

- "We found this apartment online and were not disappointed. It was very new and had all we needed ( except for a microwave and limited oven pots) for our stay. Could I suggest provision of cooking foil would also be a good idea for the oven tray? The owners were welcoming and helpful - and spoke some English! We liked Wernigerode very much and thought it a better place to stay compared with Quedlinburg, Goslar or Ilsenburg which were other places we had thought of basing ourselves at. There was plenty of choice for restaurants locally for the evenings we ate out. Slight problem - we were frustrated to find several road closures in the region which did not help our plans for sightseeing as some of the diversions were quite long. Although this was no fault of our hosts, maybe some warning of this could be given to guests in future? We enjoyed walking from Schierke to the top of the Brocken, a tour of Wernigerode Castle and a walk up Bodetal from Thale. The Schurr route to the top was closed though (again no advance warning in any tourist guide) so we then crossed the river and climbed the other side, admired the views (avoiding the amusement park) and then walked back down to Thale. These walks generally avoided being in forests all the time (so no views) which seemed might have been the case on other possible walks.
