- "We found this apartment online and were not disappointed. It was very new and had all we needed ( except for a microwave and limited oven pots) for our stay. Could I suggest provision of cooking foil would also be a good idea for the oven tray? The owners were welcoming and helpful - and spoke some English! We liked Wernigerode very much and thought it a better place to stay compared with Quedlinburg, Goslar or Ilsenburg which were other places we had thought of basing ourselves at. There was plenty of choice for restaurants locally for the evenings we ate out. Slight problem - we were frustrated to find several road closures in the region which did not help our plans for sightseeing as some of the diversions were quite long. Although this was no fault of our hosts, maybe some warning of this could be given to guests in future? We enjoyed walking from Schierke to the top of the Brocken, a tour of Wernigerode Castle and a walk up Bodetal from Thale. The Schurr route to the top was closed though (again no advance warning in any tourist guide) so we then crossed the river and climbed the other side, admired the views (avoiding the amusement park) and then walked back down to Thale. These walks generally avoided being in forests all the time (so no views) which seemed might have been the case on other possible walks. Hasserode is the perfect neighborhood to hike right away. Whether Steinerne Renne, Kaiserturm or Himmelspforte. It's the ideal starting point for the popular hiking destinations. Around the corner is the holiday park with leisure pool, bowling alley, beer garden, playgrounds. Or the Burghotel, where events and concerts are presented in the evening.

In the city it is by car/bus 5 min and on foot 20 min.

The nearest Italian, pub and kebab shop are each a 5-minute walk away.

The newly renovated apartment is located in a half-timbered house from 1850. Charming crooked walls belong in a half-timbered house as well as beams and low ceilings. Since we are still renovating the house, for example, the facade has not yet been freshly painted. That's why we would also like to rent out the rooms cheaply and offer people the opportunity to stay with us inexpensively.

A room in the upper floor is privately rented. We welcome mutual consideration.
