If I needed a question answered or a bit of advice he responded to every question or query extremely promptly and always with courtesy. We felt extra safe and secure knowing that we were being taken care of. A car is a must for staying here but the roads are very easy to navigate and drive on. I cannot recommend the Clockhouse Villa, Vrbo or Manuel highly enough. I will definitely be looking to coming back. Thank you it really was a perfect stay. X"

- "We have a large family consisting of married couples and some with children and so we offered it is an open house to arrive and depart when you want over the three weeks that we hired the property in August and it did not disappoint. A 50 minute taxi ride from Porto we spent the first two weeks just using Ubers to get into Viana which is about a 10 minute drive away and the amazing beaches which straddle each side of the town, the final week we did hire a car. The property is immense with beautiful shaded areas to relax and read in and fruit orchards , our Grandsons especially enjoyed picking the oranges and making orange juice , it even has a mini football pitch . The kitchen is really well stocked and we loved cooking most nights and BBQ the amazing range of fresh fish you will find in the local supermarkets. My treat every morning was walking over to the local village which took just over 20 mins and buying the freshest breads and cakes as well as enjoying a fab coffee. The swimming pool was great fun and is not deep so really safe for young children and is fed by a complex of fresh waterpipes and features. Bedrooms are basic as you would expect in a old stone built house but everything was clean and working , I even had my own office to do some work I needed to do. The owner Paulo spoke great English and was really helpful with anything we needed , to sum up we had an amazing family holiday in an undiscovered part of Europe."

Several terraced areas to enjoy the views, relax under the shady vine or sunbath on an upper terrace. Well equipped and lots of attention to detail, eg areas to put a parasol, seat cushions for sun beds even shower soap, washing liquid etc. Best sandy beach to right of the house is approx 15min walk over rocks and path. House is spacious on three levels. We could relax separately from our teens if needed but I would not necessarily recommend for toddlers due to terraces and steps. Lots a character and excellent sea view, with a dramatic rocky coastline. Website images do not do it justice."

Recently rehabilitated villa in Areosa, very close to the sea, with excellent views to the ocean and the mountain of Santa Luzia.
The villa has, on the ground floor, a large living room, kitchen and toilet and, on the first floor, 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets. The 500-square-meter lawn garden is surrounded by stone walls.

In the vicinity of the villa there is a bus stop, a supermarket (Intermarché) and some restaurants.

For sure a place to return." - "Location - although located very close to the shore, we still had to use car to get to the nearby beaches - a stroll takes a bit too long, especially before breakfast or during the midday heat. The supermarket is 10 minutes away by foot, or 2 minutes by car; House - very nicely furnished, good kitchen, with a cosy garden; Hosts are most friendly and helpful - we needed additional kitchen equipment for the birthday party and it was provided on first request without any problems. The only problem we've had was with the noise level. The house stands on the main street and the traffic is pretty thick even in the night. Thus it takes a while to get accustomed to it. We haven't tried to close windows due to the high humidity, maybe it wouldn't have been an issue otherwise."
