John and Sarah are wonderful, welcoming hosts who take the care to add those special, homely touches such as fresh flowers, a bowl of fresh fruit, a jar of marmalade and fresh bread and milk! The apartment has numerous quality bars, restaurants and quaint old pubs on its doorstep. It’s a 3 minute walk to the station with a frequent and fast short train service into the heart of central London. We stayed twice for six nights each time in July and August 2016 and found it so easy and quick to zip into London day or evening. There are very few places I can recommend to my fussiest, discerning friends and H-Star is definitely one of those rare finds! Highly recommended!”

"A beautiful little apartment right in the heart of Harpenden. The hosts were lovely too and very helpful. I phoned or texted them with any problems. The bedding was divine and I slept better at this apartment than I have anywhere before. Also, the flat was surprisingly child friendly and not very hard to child proof; I have a two year old and a one year old. - "We recently stayed in Apartment 2 for 10 days whilst visiting friends and family in Harpenden. We were blown away by the superior quality of the facilities, appliances and the thought that had gone into making our stay comfortable. Little things like having detergent for washing up and laundry capsules,tea towels were appreciated and the kids loved their Easter eggs! The apartment was a lovely size for our family of 4 and there was even space for the kids friends to sleep over. The sitting area is spacious with 2 double couches and there is a fantastic court yard with seats and a table which we used when we had friends over. The location of the apartments is fantastic, just a 5 minute walk to the High street with it's restaurants, shops and supermarket. It is also only 10 minutes walk from the station which was great as we travelled into London a number of times. There is parking on sight which is invaluable as parking is very difficult around town and expensive. Tony who runs the apartment was a wonderful host, constantly checking we had everything we needed. We are delighted to review the property and look forward to making it our home again next year."

Welcome to Byron Annexe. A cosy open plan ‘home from home’ located in central Harpenden. Situated on a quiet side road yet with easy level walk into the high street with great shops, restaurants and bars. Also perfect for accessing the train station to London St.Pancras (25mins) or London Luton airport (10mins). More locally Rothamsted Research, Spire Hospital Harpenden and the YWAM base locally known as ‘The Oval’, as well as Hemel ski centre and Harry Potter World nearby.

The space
The annexe is a large open plan room with a king size bed, single sofa bed chairs, wall hung tv, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom.

Every care has been taken to make this space welcoming and equipped with everything you will need for a pleasant stay.

I am always on hand if you need anything else during your visit.

Guest access
Byron Annexe has its own entrance via a metal side gate to the left of the main property. Remote checkin via lock box is available.

Other things to note
We hope you love our annexe as much as we do! It is self contained with its own entrance so nice and private.

Whilst every endeavour is made to be as peaceful as possible, you may hear some noise associated with the usual comings and goings of a family.

We have a dog, she will want to meet you to say hello and is super friendly but we are respectful if you prefer not!

We love dogs, if you are bringing along your dog and are attending an event/wedding/hospital appointment, your dog is welcome to stay onsite with me during the day for a small fee. They will be entertained and have a playmate.

Please note that we operate a rule of ‘paws on the floor’. For hygiene, allergy and cleaning, any paw marks, dog hair on/in the bed or on sofa will be an additional charge through Airbnb.

Free Wi-Fi is enabled in all apartments and there are many charging points available for any device using a USB lead. There are two bedrooms and a stylish shower room. Parking is available for one car on site, the Town center is about 2 minute walk. This apartment also has a courtyard garden seating area.
