The LOTUS SUITE is one of 2 private self-contained suites in an architect designed cypress retreat. Stunning escarpment and valley views from every room. Secluded, peaceful, but still close to the main Blue Mountains attractions, and wonderful local restaurants.
Features luxury spa, slow combustion wood fire, polished floors, thermostat heating, sundeck and verandah.
We have reverse cycle air conditioning for those occasional hot mountain days.
The Lotus Suite contains a large open plan living area, with 1 bedroom, spa bathroom, separate toilet, as well as the features listed below. The kitchenette is fully self-contained with a small oven, microwave oven, hotplates, fridge, kettle, toaster, and all the crockery, cutlery and pots and pans that you would require for your stay. There is also a BBQ on the deck with additional gas hotplate for your use. The Lotus Suite can sleep from 2 to 4 people.

We supply blankets, doonas & pillows, but we give guests the option of bringing their own sheets & pillow cases & towels up to the Retreat.

There is no smoking in the apartment or anywhere in the garden. We live upstairs and don't want the smell of smoke in and around the house. If you are a smoker you may want to consider staying somewhere else.
You have access the apartment from your own off street parking space through the back garden. You are free to enjoy the front garden which leads over to the lookout. The only restricted area is though the black gate next to the apartment front door (about a 5th of the garden)s where our dogs can go outside.
We live upstairs, however, Harmonica has private entry, its your space and you will have privacy, but we are around if you want advice on what to do or were to go.

A car is a must to get to the apartment and around. We are located on the edge of the escarpment 4kms from Katoomba. There is a local bus from 700metre away.
To do have dogs, but there are separated from your access by a fence. They are very rarely left on their own at the house, come to work with us during the day and out walking. If you do meet them they are super friendly, well socialised fox terriers.
We live upstairs, we have sound insulation between the floors which works very well. The apartment is under our bedrooms, so you may hear us moving around in the evening and mornings.

A recently restored 1940s holiday flat one block from The 3 Sisters, Echo Point and the Prince Henry Cliff Walk.
It has polished hardwood floors, a restored kitchen and bathroom and Mid 20th Century Modern details and furnishings. Sun fills the space during the daytime and a beautiful 'Eco Smart' open fireplace keeps it cosy in the evening.

The Flat has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. There is also a substantial rollaway single bed that can be placed in any of the rooms. All the beds have new high quality mattresses and linen.
For weekend chefs the kitchen is well equiped
This is our holiday house, we do not live in the area and therefore we do not provide perishables such as milk and butter.
There is a TV, DVD, Video and CD players, turntable and iPod dock as well as a wide selection of games, books, music and movies.
Other: hairdryer, iron, washing machine, dryer, heaters in every room, linen and towels provided, coffee and tea.
No Pets or Smoking are allowed inside the flat.

Take a 30 minute bush walk to Solitary Restaurant for lunch.
Watch sun set on the 3 Sisters after all the tourists have left for the day.
Drink cups of tea on the front step in the morning sun.
Enjoy wine and cheese on the front step in the late afternoon before moving in to enjoy the open fire.
Explore the many different restaurants and cafes of Katoomba (our recommendations are on record at the flat)
Shop for 'bric a brac' in the countless second hand shops of Katoomba, Leura and Blackheath.

Getting Around:
Two minutes' walk to Katoomba Train Station. Trains leave regularly to Sydney and take two hours to Central Station. You can also catch the train to other towns in the Blue Mountains.
We highly recommend using ride sharing service Uber.

Summary:
The Blue Mountains are a great destination in every season. In winter, our new two bedroom apartment is the perfect place to rug up and get cosy, thanks to high-end bedding and a lovely fireplace, as well as the inviting teahouses and traditional pubs just around the corner. In summer, autumn and spring, it's ideal for launching bushwalking expeditions or exploring other mountain towns. Just hop on the train across the road and you can be in Leura, Wentworth Falls or Blackheath in minutes.

One of the best things about the Blue Mountains is that you don't need a car to get around. This two-bedroom apartment is literally opposite Katoomba train station; you can walk to the trailheads of many of the area's best bushwalks and the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus. It's also easy to hop on the train and head to Blackheath, Leura or Wentworth Falls. The place itself is cosy, modern and fresh. Charming restaurants, classic pubs and interesting boutique shops are all steps away.

Be aware the apartments are up a steep set of stairs on the first floor. Sound from neighbouring apartments can be heard but not bad enough it kept us awake. It is right near the train station (literally across the street) which means you can be woken by trains although the windows provided a bit of soundproofing. Overall I would stay here again."

The studio is very private at the rear of Cuyong Cottage in garden setting. An open plan private studio with kitchen and bathroom along with a fireplace and balcony. The perfect retreat.
The studio sleeps up for four adults, extra guest fee applies if more than two guests. Pets are also welcome.
Unfortunately there is wifi to the studio as yet.

Cosy with thanks to a roaring gas heater, the apartment is an enviable choice for a romantic weekend getaway. There is also air conditioning to keep you cool in the warmer months. The layout offers two bedrooms, making it also suitable for an easy family getaway. Both bedrooms include an electric heater to keep you warm and snug all night long. An extra sofa in the living room allows space for extra guests if you need it.

- "We enjoyed our stay in the property. There were more conveniences than on the listing which was a nice surprise eg a hairdryer. The location was very close to the main strip in Katoomba. The remote for the AC unit was not in the property. We had particularly cold windy weather so we were looking for extra heating although the main gas heater was very good. There is an XBOX one with a few games but the battery for the controller was missing. Overall we would stay again. Thank you"

Perfect for a couple or solo traveler, this restored 1940’s holiday flat is sunny, comfortable and a short walk to the most important views and walks in Katoomba.
The space
A one bedroom holiday flat at ground level, just five minute walking distance to the famous Three Sisters and Echo Point. This is a perfect location for hiking.
The floor area is 40 sq. meters, larger than most studios and smaller than the average one bedroom urban apartment. It opens to shared garden spaces. There is a bedroom with a queen bed and built in wardrobe. The narrow bathroom has the original cast iron bath and basin. There is a hallway and a living room with dining table, lounge, TV/sound and a small kitchen. Please note there is no oven or dishwasher. There is however, an induction cooktop, microwave, electric fry pan, rice cooker, blender, toaster and jug. So you can definitely cook a meal if you don’t want to go out to one of the many restaurants and cafes in Katoomba and Leura.
The flat is sunny, insulated and well heated with a gas fire, electric column heater and electric blanket.
These apartments were purpose built as holiday flats in 1950. Rather than renovate we have restored them, keeping as many of the original features as possible. It is furnished with collected mid century items such as a 1960s Danish lounge and Eames dining table. We have attempted to create an interesting space that brings the original intent of the building back to life.
Other things to note
The flat is at ground level.
Remember that this flat has been 'restored' not 'renovated'. Most of the surfaces are original (floors, tiles, bath fittings, kitchen cabinets) and have had over 70 years of use. In some places they are scratched or might appear dusty (e.g. edges of bathroom tiles and toilet base, hardwood floors). Please appreciate the patina and be reassured that all surfaces have been well cleaned. We like the history, we hope you do as well.

- "The inside of the property was as advertised.Some comments- the bathroom door handle was poorly functional and finally stopped working- the shower in the bath was a safety risk without a non-slip rubber mat- the shower taps were not able to be turned off.- The external pathway had to be swept to prevent loose vegetation being carried into what was a cosy and hospitable apartment.With the minor fixable done, I would happily stay there again.Thank you"

Katoomba is the place to be in the mountains. A relaxed small town with breath taking scenery, it's a Hiker's heaven with more walks and scenic routes than you can possibly explore in one single trip.

You will have exclusive use of this back driveway for parking and easy access to your accommodation.
Guests of Mia Mia have exclusive use of the main house and gardens as well as the front driveway. Both listings are designed to provide complete privacy and independence, but you may occasionally see guests of Mia Mia in the back of the property enjoying the garden or outdoor dining area which is for their exclusive use.

The space
We have created a cozy studio with everything you need to enjoy your stay in the Blue Mountains.
Our love of travelling to Japan has given us the insight to squeeze a full apartment into 20sqm. To see if it worked we tested the apartment in 2019 for 3 weeks whilst we renovated our upstairs living area, and although it’s compact it’s equipped with everything you needed.
We have nicknamed it the bunker because you feel protected whatever the weather. It’s double glazed and with the heating running it’s warm and cosy even on the stormiest nights. In summer it stays nice and cool, even without running the air conditioning.
The bed is super comfy and you can lie in bed and either look out across the garden or turn on the 49” TV. The TV has catch-up channels and it’s logged in on our account to Netflix, Stan and Disney. If you would prefer to relax in a chair there is a reading chair and table.
The kitchen is full size, with a 2-zone induction stovetop, and combination microwave, grill and oven. There is a cafe-style 2 seater table and chairs to enjoy your dinner.
My family and I do live upstairs, however, we only rent out Penny Whistle when we are not there, (it would be noisy if we were upstairs).
You will share the garden and access with Harmonica our other downstairs Airbnb.

Enjoy all that this UNESCO listed area has to offer including boutique shopping, gourmet dining, beautiful gardens, artisan markets, heritage listed buildings and calendar of events.

There is no smoking in the apartment or anywhere in the garden. We live upstairs and don't want the smell of smoke in and around the house. If you are a smoker you may want to consider staying somewhere else.

You have access the apartment from your own off street parking space through the back garden. You are free to enjoy the front garden which leads over to the lookout. The only restricted area is though the black gate next to the apartment front door (about a 5th of the garden)s where our dogs can go outside.
Other things to note
To do have dogs, but there are separated from your access by a fence. They are very rarely left on their own at the house, come to work with us during the day and out walking. If you do meet them they are super friendly, well socialised fox terriers.
We live upstairs, we have sound insulation between the floors which works very well. The apartment is under our bedrooms, so you may hear us moving around in the evening and mornings.

Across the road is the entry to the Prince Henry cliff track which can be followed in one direction to the three sisters and in the other to Leura cascades.
