The apartment is near (5 min walk) but not in Piazza Tasso and the marina and port. That gave a sense of distance from the crowds, but we walked down every evening for a drink at the Foreigners Club or for gelato. Leone Rossi, a great little restaurant is steps from the door, as are other good, reasonable places to eat. As far as touring, we did go to Positano, Amalfi and Capri, but really, the best part of the trip was going to the marinas in Sorrento, getting a deck chair and swimming in the Bay of Naples under Vesuvius. Sorrento is a gem all on its own. We plan on going back and after this experience we wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else!"

There is a cheap local bus that we used to bring us back up to the train station, and then only a 2 minute walk to the pick up spot for the shuttle that ran from 3-11pm, and saved us walking back up the hill to Cassale Nunziatina in the heat. It was so nice to come back after a busy beach or sightseeing day to the peace and quiet of our apartment and wonderful garden. Also to relax in the mornings with plenty of shade. Although the temps were very hot above 30 degrees most days, our place was naturally cool having thick walls. We'll definitely stay at Cassale Nunziatina if we go back to Sorrento again. He met us at the apartment and gave a detailed walk though, and had thoughtfully stocked the refrigerator with water, a bottle of Prosecco, beer and juices. There was also coffee and tea available. Vittorio also gave us great restaurant recommendations. Vittorio was super responsive when we accidentally locked ourselves out and helped out right away. He was also very willing to give recommendations, to make restaurant reservations, or to help with anything else."

When we arrived at the flat, we were met by a member of the team to show us how to access the property and how to use all it's components. There is a lift for transporting luggage and you will have to pay an additional tourism tax when you arrive that is roughly 2-3 Euro's per person per day of your stay. The flat is just as pictured, it is safe, very secure and quiet. The air conditioning is wonderful and very welcomed after long days of sightseeing. The town of Sorrento is so beautiful and the town center is just steps from this beautiful property. The people are very welcoming and you really feel as if you have become part of the culture. There is a small grocery story in town where you can pick up a variety of groceries. We utilized the local bus system to go over to Positano for the day, we also utilized the train to go to Pompeii. We felt very safe walking around town and taking public transit. The coast is very vertical, so bring good walking shoes because what goes down must come up. Great location, with only a short walk to the main square/restaurants. It's a little sparsely stocked, so make sure to make a stop at the market down the road for anything you may need.
