- "The Melrose Sorrento was a great home base for me whilst traveling around the coast. It’s not a traditional hotel in terms of the check-in process. There were a few communication mishaps for my arrival, but it was easily worked out with a phone call. I missed a train in Naples, so ended up arriving later than planned, so had to communicate with the hotel about updated arrival time. The property is close to the train station and the center of everything. It’s 5 minute walk to the main square of shops and restaurants. My only note of concern for some travelers is to be mindful that this property is in an apartment building. It’s basically a converted apartment split into 4 rooms. If you’re a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you. You can pretty much hear everything that’s going in with your neighbors and in the hallway. The free breakfast was good…cheese, pastries and my cappuccino was amazing! The actual room was lovely, smartly designed with a cute little balcony overlooking a small lemon grove. The bed was very comfortable too! It was a great place for sleeping, but if you have visions of sleeping in and having amazing window views, I’d reconsider. For me, it was great and I’d definitely return!"
