The smart thermostat is located in the hallway for your climate control needs. Please use the setting desired, as that setting maintains the temperature selected.

Please kindly shut off thermostat when leaving your place.
Other things to note
It is beautiful to walk in the early morning. The sun rise and sets are stunning. With a rear property view of the San Gabriel Mountains; with Table Mountain, that is snow capped in the winter. It is cool and refreshing in the early morning before the day heats up.

Trash is picked up early Friday morning, except for Holiday adjustments. There will be a sound experience from that.

Please use the porch light as you desire. The switch is just inside the front door.

Please use the wrought iron and glass table and 2 chairs, located on the front porch, if desired. The front porch is part of your space, and at your disposal.

Our 2 dogs keep watch over the property. They will not be alerted when the gate and your front door are closed softly. If any barking is heard and a disturbance to you please text me immediately.

The Caboose is by the edge of a lake and sits on a 20 acre oasis in the Mojave Desert. The shared lake is perfect for fishing , swimming, using one of the pedal boats or just floating around. There is a golf cart available to visit the tortoise preserve where several types of desert tortoises have been rescued, and ride around the ranch. There is a labyrinth which is there to walk morning or night. The ranch is only for visitors and not open to the public.

About this space
This 2 bedroom 2 bath modular house is adjacent to the Labyrinth. It sits at the front of the 20 acre ranch. The shared lake is close by and available for fishing and swimming or the use of one of the pedal boats. You will have the use of a golf cart and can visit the tortoise preserve and the lake easily. The ranch is completely fenced and gated, and you have a clicker to the gate.
The space
The tortoise preserve is always open to observe the several types of rescued tortoieses. The lake is available and there is a large Art Studio which is available by reservation. It is great for larger conferences. Other places on the ranch are distanced, giving privacy and quiet to your house.
Guest access
There is not a real town of Newberry Springs other than a couple of bars, a post office, a convenience store and take-out food. Any major shopping must happen in Barstow or on-line. We get super delivery service from UPS and our local post office. Close-by attractions include Calico Ghost Town, Mitchell Caverns in the Mojave Desert Preserve, Afton Canyon, Mojave Desert Museum, a railroad museum and the Desert discovery Center. Areas for hiking and rock-hounding ae easily accessible
Other things to note
The Air Conditioning is an Evaporative Cooler. You will have all the initial amenities, but for longer stays I do not replace toiletries or cleaning supplies. You will need to do that.

Guest access
You have a private entrance to the large bedroom and bath, plus 10 acres of private desert. Part of it is fenced and you are welcome to sit under the porch there, or under the front porch. Breathe deeply and enjoy the peace. You need a door code to get in. I send it with acceptance (but might forget, so remind me).

Other things to note
It is the desert and weather is not like it is elsewhere. Hot and cold, and lots of wind. That's how it is. We love it! There is a lot of space between houses, which can seem odd to a city dweller. Our home is solar powered, on the grid. That doesn't make any difference to guests, but it sure does to us and the monthly bill.

Guest access
Our guest will have total and complete private access to the entire studio apartment. You will have your key, retrieved from the lock box. You have self check-in.

The back yard is ever so serene and beautiful. There are wonderful lounging areas to relax around the pool and view the Table Top mountain range (snow capped in the winter months). The BBQ is located in the bar island. To access the back yard from your studio, walk down the left side of the house and through 2 gates.

Parking is in front of the property at the curb, or other convenient curbside parking. Walk up the front sidewalk and enter your security gate. Turn left to your white exterior entrance door. Use your key lockbox code to retrieve your key.

The smart thermostat is located in the hallway for your climate control needs. The thermostat is for heat only.

Your private AC unit is under the window.

Please kindly shut off thermostat when leaving your place.

Other things to note
It is beautiful to walk in the early morning. The sun rise and sets are stunning. With a rear property view of the San Gabriel Mountains; with Table Mountain, that is snow capped in the winter. It is cool and refreshing in the early morning before the day heats up.

Trash is picked up early Friday morning, except for Holiday adjustments. There will be a sound experience from that.

Please use the porch light as you desire. The switch is just inside the front door.

PORCH: Please use the wrought iron and glass table and 2 chairs, located on the front porch, if desired. The front porch is part of your space, and at your disposal.

TRUNDLE BED: The custom build trundle bed that stows under the double size bed will be pulled out and prepared upon request. Please advise.

POOL/SPA: Hours 10am-7pm. Pool towels included. $45 a day. 1 hour notice needed to heat spa.

Our 2 dogs keep watch over the property. They will not be alerted when the gate and your front door are closed softly. If any barking is heard and a disturbance to you please text me immediately.

The space
This apartment was originally designed to be a loft storage area, however the space ended up being wasted on a bunch of "stuff". So we decided to clean up everything and turn it into this beautiful, private loft apartment. The outside area has a gas grill you can use and property is completely lit at night and gated as well.

The area below the private loft is a shared entertainment area that also has a full size washer and dryer for tenants that want to do larger loads as well as a kitchen area. There are a total of four units on the entire property that all may or may not be rented at one time.

The loft apartment does have stairs (seen in one of the photos) and because it was a loft, the max ceiling height for a guest is 6'2". Please keep that in mind when booking.

The lot is huge which provides ample parking, and for those staying long term, there is plenty of storage for additional baggage. The loft is inside of our studio so you will get keys to the main building and then to your apartment.

There are also stairs leading up to the apartment.

Other things to note
There are many major restaurants (Applebee's, Chili's, Red Robin, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, etc) within 5 miles from the property. Movie theaters, the mall, bowling alley in Victorville and Apple Valley, hiking in Wrightwood (about 20 minutes away), Big Bear is an hour away, Las Vegas is 2 1/2 hours away and Los Angeles and surrounding beaches is about 90 minutes away if you're looking for some fun during your stay.

Please remember that you're staying in your own private unit, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP.

Off-roading paradise! Centrally located close to shopping, food, downtown, the I-40 and I-15. You will still have plenty of peace, quiet, and privacy, as the Bungalows are somewhat secluded at the end of a short dirt road (less than a 1/4 mile).

Unit 624
Queen bed with fresh linens in the bedroom. Spare room with a desk, two extra chairs, an extra dresser and room to use how you see fit. Left mostly empty so you can workout, use as an office or big closet. Can also be used as another bedroom if you have an inflatable mattress with you.
Living room has a couch and a flatscreen smart tv. Just log into your streaming service and you’re ready to go!
Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Microwave, toaster, coffee maker, gas stove are available. Coffee provided.
Small apartment style washer and dryer provided. Machine can only wash or dry at a time. It cannot do both at the same time.

The entire bungalow (624) is yours to use. There is an identical unit next door, so please be courteous and keep noise to a minimum and park on your side.

Other things to note
GPS might be funky so please look at your map and get your bearings BEFORE heading out, especially if you are arriving after dark. It is a large desert behind and it will be difficult to navigate dirt roads in the dark.
