The modern furniture is not only handsome but also comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the grocery is very nearby. What you should know...



Although Wengen is a "car-free" mountain village, arriving by car is no problem. There is a large multi-storey car park at Lauterbrunnen train station, with trolleys for your luggage and lifts to the station platforms. It is just a 12-minute scenic cog train ride up to Wengen. The trains depart every 30 minutes until 9.30 pm and then hourly. Taxis or luggage transport are available for hire upon arrival at Wengen train station if required.

The space
Self-contained apartment on the ground floor. The apartment is rustic, simple, but cosy and comfortable. It has:

(1) Two small bedrooms with two beds each: a bunkbed in one room and two regular beds in the other room. In the latter, the beds can be stowed under a wardrobe to gain space. There is a collection of board games and books for rainy days or evenings.

(2) A fully equipped eat-in kitchen with a table and four chairs, a fridge, dish washer, microwave oven, and electric stove, plenty of cutlery, dishes, glasses, mugs, pots and pans. Salt, sugar, spices, oil and vinegar, some coffee, and other essentials are available.

(3) A bathroom with toilet, bathtub, shower, washing machine and tumbler.

(4) A partly covered wooden veranda on the sunset side of the house with a beautiful view towards the Lobhorn mountain. Deck chairs are available as well as a table with 4 chairs for outside meals.

There is an electric heating panel in the eat-in kitchen and a few mobile electric heaters for cold days.

Maximum capacity: 4 persons.

Extra-charge of CHF 10 per day for the 3rd and 4th person.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire ground-floor apartment. There are two other apartments in the house (1st floor and 2nd floor) that are occupied at times. Guests can access the washer and dryer, the garden, the woodshed and a small workshop at the back of the house.

Other things to note
CLEANING FEE: CHF 150. As we do not live in Wengen, we hire a caretaker to do the cleaning and laundry after each guest and to prepare the apartment for the next guests. Margrit, the caretaker, does a thorough job and we want to pay her a fair salary.

NO ROAD ACCESS to Wengen. The road stops in Lauterbrunnen. Guests arriving by car need to park in Lauterbrunnen and take a train from there to Wengwald or Wengen to access the house. Therefore, we recommend to travel to the Jungfrau region by public means.

A great central private room with en-suite shower room & balcony, located on the 3rd floor in The Eiger Residence, less than 50 metres to Wengen railway station but overlooking the main street of the village. It is close to restaurants & family-friendly activities with the outdoors right on the doorstep. There is NO ACCESS to kitchen, lounge or laundry facilities, it's room only & I ask that no hot food is consumed whilst in the room. There's a Nespresso machine & a kettle for your convenience.

I follow Airbnb's enhanced cleaning protocol. Significantly increased cleaning time to meticulously prepare the apartment for arrivals, this includes wearing protective gear to prevent cross contamination, anti-viral cleaning and electrostatic procedures, I use extensive cleaning checklists and provide extra cleaning supplies so you can clean as you stay. There is a vacuum cleaner and also a floor mop with bucket in the hall cupboard. I leave the room sealed for arrivals. All guests will be asked to mist all luggage with anti-viral spray and use hand sanitiser (which will be left on the table outside in the hallway next to the entrance door) before entering the bedroom. All outdoor shoes must be left in the shoes trays adjacent to the entrance door.

You will have a private spacious bedroom with 2 single beds and an en-suite shower room located on the 3rd floor of the building. There is private access to a balcony overlooking the main street of the village. Cable TV & Wi-fi. A Nespresso capsule coffee machine and kettle, (there is no fridge) is in the room.

There is a shared hallway that leads to the studio apartment and this bedroom. Both doors should be locked at all times.

The Chalet Arvenhüsli is located in the Schiltwald forest in car-free Wengen. As a guest, you must park your car in Lauterbrunnen and arrive by train. In 25 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by taxi you will find yourself in unspoilt nature.
The Innerwengen chairlift is 100 metres away. (Ski in Ski out). The cosy flat Steinbock consists of a living room with sofa bed, top equipped kitchen and bedroom with double bed. Bed linen and towels are provided. Washing machine and tumble dryer for free use.

The space
The 2-room flat has approx. 50 m2 and consists of a bedroom with a double bed and a rack for storing clothes. In the living room there is a comfortable sofa bed with a 16cm mattress. The kitchen with a round table for 6 people is fully equipped with a Nespresso machine, milk frother and kettle. From the kitchen you have a direct view of the Lauberhorn slalom slope. The bathroom has a shower, WC and hairdryer. The room height is rather low at 200 cm.
