We had the room by the pool and pretty much had the property to ourselves every afternoon since the other four guests were off exploring the nearby towns. The smell of the jasmine bushes and the trickling of water in the pool made for an excellent lounging experience. We stayed for four nights, but next time we will book for at least a week. And by the way, you can confidently disregard the 4/10 review from “Greg, Las Vegas.” Maybe there was an issue with the air conditioning in 2019, but as of 2024 it works perfectly. Also, the hosts are super friendly and eager to help. And the breakfast options are excellent. We had local honey, cheeses, ham, bread, and pastries … and I'm probably forgetting a few items. There was more than enough to eat and everything was delicious. But you can't come to France and expect an American breakfast. Stay at home if you don't want to try something new. "

Our rural farmhouse is located in the GORDES plain, with a view of the village of Gordes, and surrounding villages (Roussillon, Joucas) surrounded by fields (wheat, olive, fruit, vine)
Our cottage, La Petite Galejade, is charming and a little rustic, it is suitable for people who love the countryside, simplicity, nature and animals.
Numerous possibilities for beautiful excursions.

It is a former vineyard shed, which we have enlarged and simply furnished into a small 24 m2 cottage, modest, but full of charm, in our rural Provençal farmhouse.
Former farmers, we enjoy sharing and making our beautiful region known to our guests, if they wish.
Our cottage is not suitable and has no facilities for babies and young children.
Dogs must stay on a leash when outside the cottage.

Our small cottage (24 m2) is independent in the courtyard of our farmhouse.

Relax and unwind in this light-filled bastide, on the property of a 10-acre private country estate.

Enjoy your meals on the outside terrace, overlooking cherry fields and vineyards. The kids will love watching the horses in the next-door meadow.

Walk up to Gordes, listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France, with its cobbled streets and panoramic restaurants.

The space
Bedroom 1: Wake up to spectacular views of the Luberon valley and enjoy the sunrise. Queen-size bed, private en-suite bathroom with separate toilet, chest of drawers and cupboard. The glass door opens onto the terrace and the outdoor shower.

Bedroom 3: two single beds. Through the porthole-shaped windows is a unique view of the perched village of Gordes. The children love the cabin vibe and watching the horses through the windows. A screen closes off the room, but a door allows the whole sleeping area to be isolated from the rest of the house, if the children go to bed before the grown-ups.

Cosy living areas:
Curl up in one of the soft sofas or armchairs around the fireplace, and through the two large bay windows, whether open or closed, enjoy the soothing views of the countryside as far as the eye can see.

Heat up the barbecue on the terrace or cook up a storm in the open, fully equipped kitchen. In the stocked pantry, you will find everything you need to prepare the fresh products you will have bought at the open market in Gordes (every Tuesday morning) or in another village nearby.

Pour yourself a glass of crisp wine from Provence, and sip it on the terrace or in front of the fireplace, depending on the season. If the weather is a little cool, the large dining table awaits you by the fire, and a high chair is available for the little ones. On sunny days, have lunch or dinner in the shade outside, between the lavender field and the vineyard. Relax on one of the four sun-beds, and take advantage of the outdoor shower to soothe the heat of the Provencal sun (you can also escape it inside the house, which has A/C).

The private tennis court lights up at nightfall, so you can carry on playing until you drop.

The Bergerie is a single-storey cottage, nestled on the private estate of Fontblanche, which covers 10 acres at the foot of the famous village of Gordes.

Enter through the main gate of the estate: a path then takes you right up to the entrance of The Bergerie.

The Bergerie is a 40-minute drive away from Avignon TGV train station, or 1-hour drive from Marseille Provence airport.

Other things to note
The property has a delightful English-speaking caretaker: he will be there to sort out any problem that may arise during your stay at The Bergerie.
