Access to the property is via the Lacoste road. You have to take a 100 m agricultural path along the vineyards and climb to the plateau allowing access to the accommodation.

The outbuilding was created with the goal of hosting guests. Everything has been thought out for a comfortable stay.

The space
In this 18th century Provencal house, which has the charm of the old, built on four levels, with its beautiful entrance and staircase, we offer a “family suite” on the 2nd floor (3rd level), offering a large bedroom with a “queen size” bed, another smaller bedroom accessible by a connecting door, with two single beds, a private bathroom with bathtub, as well as a wardrobe. The "suite", which can be locked, can accommodate a maximum of 4 people. No pets allowed. Please know that if there are more of you, we offer another suite, of equivalent size and configuration, on the lower floor (La Maison Joly 1).

The bedrooms have south-facing windows, and have views of the Luberon, and sunlight until the evening. The large bedroom is equipped with a fireplace (insert), and the two bedrooms, storage (dressers).

To enroll in the rich artistic past of the house and village (Pablo Picasso, Dora Maar, Nicolas de Stael, Georges de Pogedaieff, Joe Downing, Jean-Claude Bernys, Jean Talansier...), a collection of art books is available in the "suite".

In good weather, which is usually the case in Provence, breakfast is served outside, in the courtyard. This inner courtyard, the real heart of the house, offers a natural freshness due to the caves carved into the rock, which adjoin it, which is especially pleasant on hot summer days. No need for air conditioning, which would be unethical anyway. In cool weather or rain, breakfast is served in the dining room.

In addition to the lower level of the courtyard and the dining room where breakfasts are served, other places in the house are shared space and allow encounters, with ourselves and/or the other hosts: on the 3rd floor, a room hosting a library of children's books and comics (as well as a screen and a DVD player), opens to a “chill” terrace under the roofs, where one can laze, chat, drink, with a breathtaking view of the citadel, the “castle” that overlooks the village.

The house is located on a quiet street, and it is also possible, as is traditional in the family, to sit in front of the front door, especially in the evening, and share the life of the village, watching the sun disappear in the distance.

The house is an ideal stopover for walkers and cyclists. We have a place inside the house where you can park up to 6 bikes.

Guest access
We would like to clarify that the house does not have a garden, so no pool, that the "suite" is not equipped with a TV or air conditioning, that due to the presence of our cat Pitchou, pets are not welcome, that apart from breakfast, we do not prepare meals (the village is full of places to eat) and that rooms such as the kitchen, living room, some bedrooms and the middle terrace, remain places exclusively reserved for our personal use.

If you want to eat and heat up something you bought outside, a microwave, plates, cutlery and glasses are available. You can sit in the courtyard or dining room, in the shade or by candlelight, in a cozy atmosphere. However, eating is not allowed in the "suite".

One last thing: our house is located in the middle of the village, and the atmosphere, while relaxed, must nevertheless remain peaceful.

Maison Ménerbes is the perfect Provence hideaway secretly located in the center of the Luberon. An oasis of peace yet only a two-minute stroll down a quiet dirt road finds you at the heart of this fairytale village. With so many nearby hilltop villages to explore, you will appreciate coming home to this recently renovated cottage with AC, walk-in shower and full kitchen. The spectacular views, pool and pétanque court are just waiting to be enjoyed.

The space
The cottage has a sunny spacious lounge and dining area with a fully equipped modern kitchen and AC or heating depending on the season. There is a small enclosed terrace outside the entrance overlooking the pétanque court.

The lounge area has two 90cm individual sofas that convert into sofa beds. Mattress toppers are provided to ensure a good night’s sleep. While quite a few adults have happily slept on the sofa beds they are not ideal for a long stay and may better suited for children or teenagers. There is also a television.

The kitchen has a fridge with freezer, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. The dining table seats four.

The large double bedroom has a new queen (160x200) bed and designated workspace area with desk.

The bathroom has an extra-large walk-in shower, sink, WC and large closet.

The cottage is self-catering, but all of the linen and towels are provided in the rental price, as well as essentials to get you started: tea, coffee, Nesquick, milk, washing up liquid, hand soap, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, kitchen towel, basic cleaning products and laundry detergent for the washing machine.

Guest have access to the shared pool from May through September from 10am to 8 pm plus a pétanque court year-round. In season there is an outdoor dining table for four next to the pétanque court. At request we offer a small “library” of classic non electronic toys to keep little ones entertained during their stay (Lego, Brio, Papo & Lincoln Logs).

The shared laundry area has a washer and dryer.

Guest access
The cottage is reached directly off the picturesque dirt road through its individual gated terrace. The pool, pétanque court and laundry are down an exterior flight of stairs to the garden. The pool is available in good weather from May through September from 10am until 8pm.
