A small fridge, and kettle were available for my snacks and tea. The shower was absolutely amazing, and much needed after a long car ride! The balcony even had views of the lagoon. There’s a serene koi pond in the back, and pool as well. Most of all, I felt safe as a solo female. May God bless this home. 10/10. "

Tucked away on a quiet, tree-lined street in the heart of Hopefield, this grand old Victorian house stands as a solemn witness to time gone by. The tall single-storey with “broekie lace” leading onto a wide porch telling stories of a bygone era.

The front garden, is a tangle of roses and local plants.

The space
A double room is available to rent with a comfortable bed, cupboard, armchair and reading lights. Modest but full of character, it has high ceilings, large sash window and double doors that open onto veranda/stoep that overlooks the garden.

The furnishings are well-loved. There is a bathroom at the end of the hallway with a walk-in shower, toilet and basin.

An unrenovated kitchen is also available for self-catering, with your own private fridge and a dining room next to the kitchen. There is braai facilities in the back garden (just bring own wood).
