Welcome to our guesthouse in Sandbaai. Nestled in between the ocean and mountains, our cosy cottage offers everything you need for a memorable stay.

Furnished with a luxurious queen bed, sleeper couch, well-equipped kitchen and neat bathroom, this self-catering unit is just a 10-minute stroll away from the ocean and coastal path, allowing you to explore the sandy shores and stunning views.

Perfect for solo travellers, couples or families with 2 small children (who can share a sleeper couch).

The space
Please note that while the cottage is very private, the unit is on the same property as the owner's home. The entrance is completely separate and there is a private courtyard where you can enjoy a barbecue or breakfast.

If you’re here to relax and enjoy the beach or the whale season then you have come to the right place! We are a short 10-minute walk from our favorite little beach. Sandbaai Beach is where the locals hang out. The beach has protected rockpools, and a Cliff Path to Onrus Beach. Follow the well marked walking trails in either direction to fully experience this magnificent coastline. We are a 5 min drive from Hermanus Central. Whale Coast Mall and local wine farms are on your doorstep.

The space
Little Gums (it’s what we lovingly call the cottage) is a single single bedroom cottage. You will find all you need in a well appointed kitchen with modern appliances. The lounge/tv room has a sofa couch for kids. An indoor braai doubles up as a cozy fireplace for those cold winter nights. A three seater dining table is located just off the kitchen. A loft provides a bit of extra space and is appointed with a mattress and scatter cushions. A perfect little hideaway to catch a late nap. The bedroom is cozy and has bathroom leading off of it with a shower and toilette.

The cottage is walled off from the rest of the property, with access to a private patio, a cold outside shower as well as a lapa where you can enjoy a late tipple or relax while using the supplied outdoor braai.

Small breed pets are allowed.

Other things to note
As South Africa is experiencing almost daily periods of loadshedding, when no electricity is available, we have provided rechargeable lamps and a one plate gas plate stove. Bringing extra lighting may be an good option !!

Scarlet is the room, beautifully finished with touches of red, bringing out its warmth and spaciousness. It's the first room right into the guesthouse on the ground floor and is closely situated to the kitchen, dining room and pool/braai area.
