Commercial Use and Productions:
Photo/video productions require proper licensing and release. Personal photos and sharing are encouraged, but commercial or professional productions require pre-negotiated rates and a location release.

Check-Out and Late Check-Out:
Leave the home in good condition, following check-out procedures. Late check-out fee is $200 if property is not vacated 30 minutes after 11 AM check-out. More than 2 hours late results in an additional day charge.

This cabin was exactly as the pictures, but the views posted from this cabin (on VRBO) do NOT do justice to this beautifully located property! As an added bonus, the owner provides for dog specific blankets and towels so as to give the most convenient way to protect the furniture and cabin, while allowing our beloved dogs to enjoy the environment. The Host is by far one of the best I've experienced with vrbo. She was enthusiastic, helpful, courteous, and immediately responsive! We highly recommend this Host and the property!! This family cabin, built by our father in 1964, is a place for families and friends to reconnect while enjoying the wonders of the Tahoe area. The cabin interior is all knotty pine with a local stone gas burning fireplace in the living room. The cabin is just one mile from the lifts of Olympic Valley USA. Officially named Olympic Valley since the 1960 Olympic Winter games, is located on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, just off Highway 89, 2 minutes to Palisades Tahoe Lifts, about 13 minutes from Truckee, 5 minutes from Alpine Meadows, 25 minutes from North Star and about 10 minutes from Tahoe City by the lake. Just a hop, skip, and a jump from Tahoe City’s restaurants, shops and Commons Beach of Lake Tahoe, is our 4bd, 2ba mountain home. Built in 2006, our mountain home feels brand new, but retains that old Tahoe charm with mountain rustic style. The hot tub is BRAND NEW 2014. You are so close to Tahoe City you can walk to Rosie's for breakfast in a winter white-out storm or head to the golf course for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and sledding (perfect for kids)! In the summertime, you can walk to the weekly concerts at the beach, the farmers market, river rafting the Truckee river, playgrounds, golf, literally everything is just a stone's throw away.

The great room of our home is perfect for hanging out with the whole group. The kitchen opens to the dining and living area for the textbook place for the whole crew to hang out, whether cooking, dining, or chilling in front of the Niners or Giants game, you're all right there. The new dining room table is large enough for 8 adults with seating for 3 more at the bar.
Our 4 large bedrooms are flexible to accommodate many different groups. There is one bedroom with a king, 2 each with queen beds and the bunk room contains 2 bunks (4 twins). There is a TV and cable in a room downstairs so the kids can watch a movie and rest after a day on the mountain, while the adults enjoy a big dinner.

We just bought our dream come true mountain home this November, and can't wait to share it with you. In our first few weekends visiting our new home, we can be heard saying;

I have been renting places in Tahoe my entire life. I was always a huge fan of places that had toys for me to play with. We have 5 sleds for sliding down the mountain. We added the bottom deck and hot tub, winter deserves hot tubs! - "The location was great. With a little investment the property could be great. Cheap improvements and only local channels on the cable was a little disappointing. We also found a great neighborhood park (with a $5 parking fee) that has a lovely dog park and sledding hill just down the road. - "It was a nice cabin, with everything we needed and a nice location. Lori was very responsive and very accommodating. A few things would need to be improved; a few pieces of furniture was broken, and the cleanest of the cabin was questionable. " - "For the price of the rental we expected more. Upon arriving we noticed cigarette butts and trash outside the property, inside we were initially greeted by a very stained and dirty rug - there were cobwebs throughout and the bathrooms/showers were dingy. The master toilet was a bidet that never allows for a full seat lift, the freezer wasn’t cold enough to freeze ice cream - so we lost a bunch, the shades covers didn’t function so we had to just leave down - which made it dark at all hours and blocked the very minimal lake view. The A/C only cooled the main living area - the bedrooms remained very hot. There was no square footage listed and based on the photos we were expecting it to be more spacious. Modern furnishings in the listing gives the feel like it’s updated and contemporary, but in reality it wasn’t and was actually uncomfortable and not worth the price."

- "House was huge and very nice. Master bedroom was nice with a huge TV . No place to sit and watch unless you laid in bed. Bathroom shower water was very forceful. Love that. Could use a rubber mat in the shower because it was a little slippery. Also need a bath rug for the floor when setting out of the shower. Game room had a pullout sofa which was very comfortable. No sheets and we couldn't find any. There was no air conditioning, and it was a little hot at first. Once we found a fan and put it in the master bedroom it was ok at night. Downstairs was cool. Rest of the house was just ok with temperature. Fan in living room was great. Kitchen was top notch. Coffee pot a little difficult to understand. I found the instructions in a drawer and that solved that problem. No instructions on how to leave the place. We emptied all the garbage and separated the recycled stuff. Put dirty sheets in the laundry room and did the dishes. Locked all the doors and windows. Oh ya, we couldn't find the iron. Looked high and low. Luckily, we had a relative who lived by lend us theirs. Problem solved. Overall....great place to stay. Twin beds were not conformable but ok for kids. 6 adults perfect. Would rent again."

Agate Bay is conveniently located close to Tahoe City and Kings Beach, both great lakeside towns with wonderful restaurants, shops, grocery stores, boat/bicycle rentals and much more. World class ski resorts including Northstar, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are a short drive from the cabin. Behind the Agate Bay neighborhood there are hiking/biking trails that eventually lead to the Tahoe Rim Trail.

All ABP vacation rentals come equipped with high-speed Internet, linens, towels, kitchen supplies (toaster, coffee pot, dishes, pots/pans, utensils), washer/dryer and BBQ (summer only). If you have special requests, please let us know.

Important:

On March 11th 2022, Placer County implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500 - $5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance.

Some Highlights Include:

•Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound.

ABOUT THE HOUSE

This charming Tahoe vacation retreat features pine walls and wooden flooring which conjure up that cozy ski-lodge feel. The living room has plush seating, a 40in flat screen TV with DVD and cable, and a crackling wood fireplace to keep you toasty on chilly nights.

A sunny dining spot has a round wooden table for 4, and there's a sliding glass door to the back deck where you'll find a BBQ grill.

The well equipped kitchen has everything you need for easy meal preparation, including a microwave and gas stove/oven, and well-stocked cupboards.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed, desk with a chair, and a large window overlooking the back yard. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower.

The second bedroom also has a queen bed and a desk, and third bedroom has a full bed and a large closet. The shared bathroom offers a shower/tub combo. A laundry facility is provided for your convenience.

The home is dog friendly, so feel free to bring your four-legged family members along on vacation.

THE LOCATION

Location, location, location! Whatever brings you to Lake Tahoe, it's bound to be nearby. This house is a 6-minute walk from the shores of Tahoe and Sunnyside Marina, where you can rent a boat and head out onto the water.

Skiers can take their pick of the slopes. It's just 7 minutes to Homewood Ski Resort. In less than 20 minutes, you can drive to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows.

Come in summer and discover nearby hiking and biking trails, including the bike path that runs into Tahoe City, out to Squaw Valley, and down the lake's west shore, perfect for walks with your pooch.

OUR CABIN IS IN A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD. We want you to have a good time but excessive noise and partying isn't a good fit for our cabin.

- Pull each bungee cord from the “center” of the bungee cord across the front of the door hooking each end onto the eye bolts.
- slide the lever on the control panel to the “right”.
