Coco Loco is approximately a 2 hour drive south of Cairns. We recommend you have your own transport during your stay with us. There is a bus service from Cairns Airport to Mission Beach. Car and cycle hire are available at Mission Beach. There is a range of retail and food outlets as well as an excellent local butcher and fishmonger. Woolworths is open 6 days a week.

Relax on our organic fruit farm with stunning views to world heritage rainforest. There are little touches to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Plenty of room for families.

It's all yours including the 2 bay car port with lighting. Plenty of room to park a boat which makes being only 1km to the beach very handy. It's surrounded by open spaces down to the seasonal creek. The views of the world heritage rainforest and mountains are breathtaking.

144 square metres with 3 bedrooms - one with a King bed (main bedroom room), one with a Queen bed and one has a single bed.

Large, spacious and fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, pantry, dishwasher and microwave. Kitted out with crockery and cooking utensils, it's a cook's delight! The windows are all screened, there are fans in every room, even the bathroom.

The home is elevated; a true queenslander, allowing breezes to circulate underneath, and through the home, keeping it cool. There is also a large air conditioner in the main lounge room, helping keep the house cool.

There is a large 4 metre deck off the living area and a balcony that runs along the bedrooms.

For families, there is lots of open space around the house for kids to run around on and some amazing fresh water swimming holes during Summer on the property and nearby to enjoy. Kilometres of walking tracks up the mountain for the adventurous.

We aim to provide you with a peaceful and rejuvenating stay. To ensure a seamless experience for all, please review and adhere to the following house rules.
We kindly ask that you review and confirm your acceptance of these rules within 48 hours of making your booking. If you feel you are unable to meet the guidelines, you may cancel penalty-free within this period. After 48 hours, our Strict Cancellation Policy will apply.

GENERAL RULES
Treat the Space with Care:
Tranquility Hideaway is a private retreat. Please be respectful of the property, nature, and all facilities during your stay.

Maximum Guests:
Guest limits must be observed at all times:
Tranquility Hideaway: 22 guests. Max 24 (subject to fees for additional pax)
Tranquility Guest House: 8 guests. Max 10 (subject to fees for additional pax)
Serenity Rooms: Max 2 guests per room
Tranquility Garden Cabin: Max 5 guests

No Pets:
To preserve the tranquility of the space and protect native flora and fauna, pets are not permitted.
Certified assistance and service animals are welcome in accordance with Australian law. Please notify us at the time of booking if applicable.

Children and Infants:
Due to natural elements such as creeks, wildlife, and uneven terrain, the property is not specifically designed for young children or infants. If they are part of your group, they must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian.
The property is not liable for accidents or injuries.

No Smoking:
Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. Outdoor smoking is permitted only in designated areas, using the provided ashtrays.
Please dispose of waste respectfully and do not litter under any circumstances. Additional cleaning fees may apply.

While we have no immediate neighbours, we ask that you respect the peaceful setting. Please keep noise to a minimum after 9 PM, especially if other guests are staying on the property.

Cleanliness:
Please wash dishes after use and leave all spaces tidy. Excessive mess may incur additional cleaning fees.

Furniture & Property:
Do not move or remove any furniture or decor. Everything has been thoughtfully placed for comfort, functionality, and flow.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Supervision:
As the property includes natural features such as creeks and bushland, we ask that all guests exercise care. Children must be supervised at all times.

Liability:
Guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of their group. Tranquility Hideaway is not liable for accidents, injuries, or loss during your stay.

Smoke Alarms:
Installed and maintained as per regulations.

Carbon Monoxide:
There is no carbon monoxide alarm on site. For peace of mind, you are welcome to bring a portable unit.

Swimming Pool:
While the pool area is fully enclosed and meets safety requirements, we appreciate your mindfulness and care around water, especially with children.

Wildlife:
You may encounter native animals or insects. We encourage you to observe from a respectful distance. Please do not feed or attempt to handle wildlife.

Fire Safety & Restrictions:
Open flames, campfires, and candles may be restricted depending on weather conditions or local fire bans. Please check with us before lighting anything, and never leave fires unattended.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Events:
Unauthorised parties or events are not permitted.
If you’re interested in hosting a gathering (e.g a wedding or retreat), please contact us in advance to discuss options. Unauthorised events may result in immediate eviction and additional charges.

Illegal Substances:
The use or possession of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Any violation will result in eviction and notification of authorities.

Septic System Considerations:
Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. Wipes, sanitary items, or other materials can damage the system and may result in repair charges.

An entire and fully refurbished self contained historical 1930's masonry block cottage. Opposite beach, boat ramp and park land. Great waterfront views to King Reef. Stinger enclosure is erected and maintained during Stinger season by the Regional Council.

The space
Water front location opposite boat ramp and King Reef. Kurrimine Beach is the closest location to the Great Barrier Reef and walks to King Reef from Tindara's front door can be undertaken on very low tides.

Guest access
Guests have their own cottage and share a common laundry. One under shelter car accommodation is provided, boat and trailer parking is adjacent, and the boat ramp is less than 100 m away - making Tindara a great location for a fishing holiday. . Fishing and diving on King Reef are such popular activities.

Other things to note
Its a good idea to do the bulk of your shopping either in Innisfail or Tully as there is limited grocery shopping in Kurrimine. There are however takeaway, smorgasbord and/or ala carte dining available at local hotel and motel. There is an extended hours Service Station and post office. A single foam mattress is available for an extra guest. Pls advise if you need this extra capacity - no charge

Relax on the porches of this unique and tranquil cottage 1 block from the water in the Heart of Kurrimine Beach. Vintage items abound in this shady home with it's wrap around porches overlooking a reserve. Open Lounge and Dining area with Vintage Furnishings and Comfy Queen and Double Bedrooms beside a spacious bathroom ( up stairs beside the Aussie Pottery.)
A single,couple or group have the whole house to themselves. Full country kitchen, grill, Laundry, Full AC, Fans, Netflix and WiFi.

Surrounded by Vintage and Antique curios huge porch and comfy beds..great for a single, couple or group. Easy flat 2 min stroll to beautiful beaches and on certain days you can even walk out to the reef...Beachside Pub and Pool,deck,cafe both with excellent meals..General store and servo too.

Other things to note
There is an excellent water park in the caravan park 1 minute walk away for $5 per person. Park also has excellent Bar cafe with quality food. There's the beachside pub which is a 3 minute walk and a very nice beachside walking track approximately 2 km long. Sometimes when the tide is just low enough you can walk out to the reef. Kurrimine is famous for its fishing crabbing and beaches. Paronella Park, waterfalls, Tully and Innisfail as well as Mission Beach average 25 minutes each in a car. This makes it a great central location and lest we forget there's awesome winery right as you turn off the Bruce Highway into Kurrimine Beach

The space
This hexagonal eco cottage was built out of local river stone from the seasonal creek which meanders around the property and recycled materials. Every detail and finish has been carefully selected to reflect the style of antiquity and unique pieces. Coloured glass is featured throughout. Bakelite was used in the victorian era and there are some fun features in this house, including an interactive "enter/wait/engaged" sign to the toilet/ telephone/ radio and light switches. Most furniture pieces are fully restored to their original condition, some with added artistic features. The Rivertribe Cottage is a feast for not only the eyes but the senses as well. It will become an experience you will always remember. Please note 🙏🏽 this is not a 5 star 🌟 hotel- but a 5 star experience - for those who are in awe of eco nature!

You may access the Sundance Studio if you request- please speak to the host.- we may be able to arrange private yoga classes if there are no public classes available.

Other things to note
Please note a few interesting facts that you may want to consider before booking with us.
- We are truly an Eco getaway.
- It's rare however you may have the endangered Cassowary come and visit, this can be both exciting and also dangerous. We ask that you never feed them but stay inside and watch in awe!
- Our large bath is outdoors and the shower semi indoor/ outdoor in true tropical style. The rest of the bathroom is joined to the house and undercover with a genuine luxury feel.
- We have an eco composting toilet. During your stay, you will not need to service it and is maintenance free.
- Our single room has a single bed only for one guest only in total not for a couple.
- There is NO Air Conditioning unit at the house and NO ceiling fans. We have available portable fans up to 5 in total in the residence.
- Reception is limited to Telstra mobile service for phone calls and is terrible at the moment- we suggest getting Whats App for phone calls or Skye/Zoom.
- Wifi is limited to only some areas of the house.
- There is a super friendly 'green lipped' tree frog who lives in the door of the freezer - hence the water dispenser is out of action :) and you barely ever, almost never see him - but if you're lucky, you just might!
- Although this is a single storey house, the property is slightly sloped and so the back verandah has steps leading down to the ground level grass around the fire-pit. (NB: the single bedroom and the double bedroom are situated on the back verandah)
- the seasonal creek is now flowing (Jan - ) and can be accessed down the concrete steps. For your information it is located approx. 10m from the back of the house on a steep downhill slope.

Mission Beach Village restaurants and bars just metres away. At the present time Mission Beach is being "revitalised" which means there are significant works being undertaken in the centre of Mission Beach which is near to the cottage, the price has been discounted for the possible construction noise.

Mission Dreaming is a delightful one-bedroom cottage. So welcoming…. You will immediately relax upon entering.

The space
This fully self-contained 1 bedroom cottage is perfect for couples looking for a beach holiday - all you need to bring is your bathers and a beach towel, dining out is within walking distance! If you prefer to dine at home the kitchen is well equipped - you won't even need to head out for coffee, Nespresso Pod Machine is provided (BYO coffee pods). Mission Dreaming accommodates a maximum of 4 guests, with the queen innerspring sofa bed in the living area you can accommodate a family of 4 or 2 couples.

Unpack and start your adventure. Just a short stroll and you can be enjoying a walk along the golden sands of South Mission Beach whilst taking in the view to Dunk Island and Bedarra Island across the Coral Sea. Some days they look like “Cardboard Cut Outs”. If you like to rise early – watching sunrise over Dunk Island is a real treat.

Perhaps you would like to try a spot of fishing. If you have your boat Mission Dreaming is only a few minutes drive from Hull River Boat Ramp or South Mission Beach Boat Ramp. Or why not try your luck fishing from the beach. Bring your catch home and cook a feast on the BBQ. If not lucky with your catch walk to Mission Thai, Beachcomber Coconut Café or Tuskers at the Life Saving Club for your evening meal.

For those who like discovering, Mission Dream is a great base to stay.

A few minutes’ drive you can be walking in the rainforest searching for the elusive cassowary in one of the most beautiful Licuala Palm forests you could imagine. Or pack a picnic and enjoy the Edmund Kennedy Walking Track at the southern end of the beach.

A little secret…. You may even have a visit from the local wandering cassowaries at Mission Dreaming. Just imagine that.

The quaint shopping village of Mission Beach is approx. 10 mins drive away. Take a morning relaxing as you browse through the shops and galleries. Lunch at one of the cafes.

Or for the more adventurous a day out on the Great Barrier Reef on The Reef Goddess is a must or take a day drive and discover some of our waterfalls and swimming holes.

Other things to note
Wongaling Beach is considered by locals to be the central hub of the Mission Beach area. It offers a large range of the exclusive and sought after absolute beachfront accommodation on Reid Road and Koda Street. Beachfront properties are also available on Banfield Parade being across the road from the beach.

The small shopping village at Wongaling Beach (easy to identify thanks to the Big Cassowary sculpture) has a gym, cafe and hair salon. There is a drive in bottle shop at Mission Beach Resort.

Adjacent to this complex is Woolworths which has the Bendigo Bank a smaller Bottle shop, pharmacy and cafe. The supermarket is closed on Sundays. You can also find the service station – open 7 days - at Woolworths complex.
ANZ and Westpac ATM’s are situated within Woolworths.
Dining out in Wongaling Beach – Mission Beach Resort offers bistro style dining, Spicy Thai Hut offers fab Thai food and there is the Italian, Cafe Rustica.
Wongaling also offers a great kids playground, skate park, basketball half court and 'Splash'N'Dunk' water play park, this is all situated in the beachfront parkland at Rotary Park.
Just a short 5-10 minute drive will take you to the village centre of Mission Beach with a great range of café’s bars and specialty shops. The Mini Mart and Leny’s fruit and vegetable store are open on Sundays when Woolworths is closed.

The first and third Sunday of each month there a markets in the Ulysses park at Mission Beach.
The Mission Beach Monster Markets are held on the last Sunday of each month from Easter Sunday until November. These are located at Ulysses park at Mission Beach.

Wake in the morning take a stroll along the beach before deciding if you wish to be active - snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, do a spot of fishing or take a walk through the rainforest searching out the famous Cassowary. It would not be a surprise if you decide to just laze at Gecko's Cottage.
