1. All pets must be pre-approved. Please include information about your pet in your booking request, advising breed, age etc. There is a $40 per dog/per stay fee.

2. We accept dogs only (no cats). They must be over 12 months old and fully house trained to be allowed inside the cottage, as we have many costly rugs.

3. Pets are to be kept off all beds and furniture. Evidence of pets being on beds can have an impact on the guests damage deposit.

4. Pets must never be left alone inside the cottage. We have a fabulous backyard you are welcome to utilise.

5. Due to our gardens and neighbours we are unable to accept dogs who bark and/or dig consistently. Well behaved dogs are welcome!

The property is situated on almost 2 acres. It has 1 acre of gardens and lawn at the front that guests can access. We have two miniature goats, a few chickens, some ducks at times, a dog -Lily, and a Guinea pig that gives some extra interest to the property. The gardens are being developed and are enthusiastically enjoyed by visitors. It is a peaceful country setting with several different areas around the property where you can stop and relax.

The space
The cottage is a one-bedroom space with a queen bed, kitchenette, lounge room, fold-out couch (double bed size) & full bathroom. There is a TV, wi-fi, air-conditioning and facilities to make simple meals. You are able to access the cottage privately via the main driveway, with parking at the front of the property (just off the main road, it's then a short walk to the cottage at the back of the property). Please note we live in the main house at the front. We also have a big & friendly dog, Penny (golden retriever x Irish wolfhound), who will want to say hello & get a pat but is a bit older and will stay up at the main house with us most of the day.

Access to the cottage is at the back of the property. From the parking area, there is a short walk on a gravel driveway to the cottage.

‘Crochet Cottage’ in Newtown, is 1.5kms from Toowoomba CBD and the glorious Botanic Gardens. The historic State Rose Garden is 0.6kms away. The Cottage is convenient, quiet and peaceful and has been divided (the owner & her little dog live in the back portion and are available for anything you may need). The private Guest Suite comprises of Queen Bedroom/ensuite with shower, and Sitting Room with TV & kitchenette (no sink). Enjoy sitting on the sunny verandah overlooking a hedged private garden.

The space
The timber cottage is painted white and has original c1910 floorboards and features throughout. The rooms have some antique furniture pieces I have collected over the years. The ceilings are high yet there is still a feeling of cottage quaintness. I crochet as a hobby so I have a few quirky colourful crochet blankets around for you to use.
In winter I will turn the electric blanket on, ready for you so you are warm to sleep.

You are most welcome to use the front lawn and garden table/chairs; the sunny verandah; the spacious Sitting Room; Kitchenette; hallway; Queen bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
(I live in the rear separate portion of the house with my shy but friendly born-deaf dog who is fenced in the backyard/house. Please don’t let the dog out, I’ll never be able to catch her again!)

Other things to note
I have a pet dog, Jade, living in my section of the house only. You won’t meet her unless you want to, and then she’ll love you for life. She is a rescue dog, born deaf, Boxer/Red Cattle dog breed. A sweet and curious little treasure.

The space
This hundred year old renovated cottage has the charm and comfort to be enjoyed for any occasion, whether a romantic weekend away or a functional ideally located stay for work. Pear Tree Cottage has indoor and outdoor living and dining areas. The outdoor area has blinds and shutters which can be opened up to look over the gardens, or closed up and used in all weather conditions. There is also an enclosed fireplace for those chilly winter evenings, with firewood available from the local service station. The master bedroom has a its own ensuite and walk in robe, and the second bathroom boasts a large bathtub as well as a second shower

The beautifully landscaped gardens include many herbs and seasonal veggies that compliment the fully functional kitchen and undercover BBQ area.

Undercover off street parking is also available to keep your vehicle secure and give yourself direct access to the house.

Walking distance to shops, CBD and Base Hospital. Close proximity to Queen’s Park, Empire Theatre, Toowoomba City Golf Club, Gabbinbar Homestead and Preston Peak Winery.

The space
There is a fully functional kitchen equipped with; Nespresso coffee machine, cook books, electric mixer, baking equipment, microwave, dishwasher, plus pantry staples to get you going....

There are two Queen Size beds, and two single beds. All beds have new mattresses and bedding and are super comfortable. We also have a fully assembled cot, highchair and change mat available for use on request.

For additional comfort the cottage boasts two bathrooms. The second, newly added bathroom has a level access shower for ease of use. The instant hot water system and great water pressure will ensure a fantastic shower.

There is a laundry with a front loader washing machine, dryer, iron and board.

There is one TV with Netflix, Blue Ray DVD and wifi to ensure the whole family is entertained!

There is a reverse cycle air-conditioner in the lounge area & separate units in each of the bedrooms - keeping you cool in summer and nice and cosy in winter.

Outside the garden is landscaped, with a BBQ, patio area & table and chairs.

The cottage is fully fenced with access to the large double bay shed.

Further off street parking for up to 2 more cars is available in the driveway.

Please note that this street can become busy and noisy at times ( peak hour) especially as it is near a roundabout. It may be easier to reverse in, however one can always reverse onto the wide footpath and drive out.

There is a sheltered area for your animal. Outside pets only. Please pooper scoop before leaving. Extra cleaning may be charged if evidence of pets being inside with red staining on white linens.

Sink into our dreamy clawfoot bathtub with a glass of bubbles or enjoy a cuppa on the verandah together, looking out to the private garden. Our fully equipped kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil and treats, as well as all the utensils and equipment you need to rustle up any meals. The queen size bed is made up with 1000 thread count sheets, feather and duck down pillows, mattress toppers and old-fashioned quilts. It is a dream to sleep on all year-round.

The cottage is warm in winter and cool in summer with reverse cycle air conditioning and insulation. We have high speed internet and Netflix for those nights you want to stay in together and put your feet up, and we’re central enough to be close to anywhere you’d like to visit – popular cafés, homely pubs, trendy cocktail bars and fine-dining restaurants.

The house has 3 air conditioned bedrooms ,wi-fi , 2.5 bathrooms , laundry and full kitchen suitable for a short or long stay. We supply a few items to get you started, toilet paper, coffee pods, teabags, sugar, milk ,washing powder, shampoo conditioner and body wash. Also a few pantry items oil, salt, pepper, spices and a few fresh herbs in the garden you are welcome to use.
We suggest if you are staying longer than two nights or have a large group you grab a few bits for your stay. Please let me know if you need more information on this.
We have a few empty bins in the carport for containers for change, this goes towards our local girls football club.
Well trained fur babies are welcome, please bring their bedding and clean up into the bags provided.
