- "I visited in the last week of September and the hotel did not feel at full capacity, which was nice. There were plenty of available sun beds. The cocktails were very well made and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. The sun beds on the beach were part of the beach club and they had an extra charge. There was also a beach club pool with an extra charge. We stayed by the main pool which was included and enjoyed it there. We had a room with a marina view and at night there was a fair bit of noise from the loud bars around the marina. The marina views do not get any sun so drying swim clothes took longer than normal. The room was very large, and the housekeeping did a great job. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Tivoli Marina, if I visit again I would pay extra for a sea view room. "

Pros: attentive and professional staff, prompt service, cleanliness of hotel and room, room insulation( for a hotel packed with kids, we never heard a peep while we were in our rooms), activities for kids, hotel shuttle that brings you to Old Town and the beach, variety of food, hours that meals were served, attention to detail (toiletries for kids, pillows for kids, water fountains and cups in every floor, kid-sized toilets and stools to reach the sink in the Kids Club), Kids Club, proximity to restaurants and bars Cons: pools were freezing (we ended up using a wetsuit for our kids), food was sometimes cold, I had diarrhea on my last night. I thought it was just a one off then but I’ve been seeing many posts on the Facebook page for this hotel that others have experienced food poisoning… I was fine by the next morning so it wasn’t a bug and I didn’t eat anywhere else, having to pay for bouncy castle and go-karting at an all-inclusive. - "Wow! What a truly amazing place to stay! Sure the resort is, in places, still being constructed but, unless you’re very picky, you really wouldn’t notice. And it’s such a lovely lovely place to visit - thoroughly recommended and we will be back! Gorgeous location and soooo quiet. We asked and the resort was 40% full but you’d never notice and we pretty much had the pool and sunloungers to ourselves each day. Spotlessly clean, although watch out, housekeeping comes real early, like 8:30 a.m. Beautiful beaches and lots of places to visit by Uber which is real cheap. We walked to Monte Gordo then got an Uber to Castro Marim castle. Then on another day an Uber to Tavira which is well worth a day trip. What makes Verdelago so special, the staff. Everyone is so lovely. Greeting at breakfast is superb and you get a tour of what’s on offer, pretty much all the produce is local. Great wine list for lunch and dinner, also local. Special shout out to Benjamin who always stopped and offered a lift around the resort. He’s a real gentleman and a pleasure to meet. Want a quiet trip near a great beach with amazing service! ACCOMODATION
Monte Rosa's comfortable accommodation consists of various renovated rustic buildings that once formed a farm with its own wine cellar and horse stables. Set in 10 acres of rural land surrounded by old almond, olive and fig trees, guests can book any of the 8 rooms and apartments available, which vary in decor, size and facilities. All rooms have pleasant outside seating areas and access to the swimming pool. In the winter, we provide indoor heating facilities.

LOCATION
Monte Rosa is located only 2 km from Barão de São João, a picturesque village where you can find two small supermarkets and some nice restaurants and cafés. The historical town of Lagos is only 9 km away from Monte Rosa. In Lagos, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve, lots of restaurants, shops, museums and interesting monuments.

Faro Airport is about 90 km and a 1 hour-drive away. At Monte Rosa we provide a transfer service from and to the airport. We can also arrange car hire for you, which will give you the freedom to explore the southwest of the Algarve.

MEALS
Breakfast: At Monte Rosa, we serve a daily breakfast (€12 pp, not included in your booking) with fresh fruit, juice, Greek yoghurt, granola, herbal tea and coffee, different types of bread with various kinds of cheese and your choice of eggs — laid by our own chicken. Our breakfast will give you tons of energy to start your day.

Dinner: On Tuesday and Saturday we serve a home cooked three-course meal (€25 pp, not included in your booking) prepared with ingredients directly from our own garden. Usually we cook vegetarian or with fish, if preferred we can prepare a meat dish as well.

In case of any special dietary request, we will always try our best to accommodate your needs.
