- "Fabulous refurbished hotel, very modern but in a traditional way given its location. We had a garden suite (Millican Dalton) which was an absolute delight, very spacious and quiet, views over fields & hills. The only fault, although minor was there is no fridge in the room and there is a patio area with table & chairs with view to the hills but it hadn’t been cleaned for sometime, lots of moss & quite slippy. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights & the food quality was very good & presented beautifully. Great breakfast menu. All the staff were very attentive, friendly and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. The plus point for us is that they only have a couple of rooms for dogs & dogs are not allowed in the bar or restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, I like dogs, but I don’t want to stay in a room where they have been & I certainly don’t want to eat in a restaurant with them when most guests are dressed for dinner & unfortunately have seen dogs jump up at staff when they are trying to serve food.
