A very compact (small) double room with a beautiful view across the valley. Village location. Suited for both flat and fell walks. Four and a half miles from market town of Keswick with a variety of eating and shopping choices.
Our rooms are priced in line with the youth hostels in the valley and are considerably less expensive than other accommodation. Our non-provision of towels forms part of our effort to keep prices as low as possible.

The space
Our location is perfect for anyone wanting a quiet location with immediate access to walks from the door.

Guests are invited into our home where they have use of a shared bathroom. Their room is very compact and there minimal floor space between the bed, chair and wardrobe and the bed is accessible from only one side; it is equiped with TV. They can access the kitchen for tea/coffee and also the garden if the weather is good. The bbq is available by prior arrangement and a small fee. At an additional cost of £5 per person we provide breakfast of cereals, eggs, toast and preserves each morning from 8.30 to 9am. Please note that cooking of other meals in the kitchen is not possible.

As we live here too our guests will undoubtedly see us around, we are happy to chat and assist in any way to make their stay pleasant and comfortable but we are mindful that guests will want to spend their time peacefully together. To this end the rooms are equipped with sky tv.

We have a family house seated at the foot of Catbells in the heart of the Borrowdale Valley. Quiet village location and beautiful walks straight from the door step.
Our rooms are priced in line with the youth hostels in the valley and are considerably less expensive than other accommodation. Our non-provision of towels forms part of our effort to keep prices as low as possible.

The space
A small, but comfortable room with sloped ceiling over the bed which has an electric blanket. The room is equipped with Sky TV. Please note that the bed is accessible from only one side and the limited view is across tree tops.
Our location is perfect for anyone wanting a quiet base with immediate access to walks from the door.

Our cottage is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the beauty of a Lakeland hill farm. Our static caravan is nestled at the edge of a small wood in the beautiful valley of Borrowdale in the heart of the English Lake District. It's a cool and affordable glamping -like holiday in a stunning countryside setting. It's great value for week long stays.

The space
The caravan has many of the original fittings and has been really well cared for - we'd call it 'good vintage condition'. We've gone with the 70's vibe with the accessories!

There is a double (4ft double bed) room and the second bedroom can be either a double or a twin (it has two 2ft beds). The fully equipped galley kitchen extends to a spacious living/dining area.

The wooded fell is behind the caravan and to the front are fabulous views across the valley. The wood is home to our resident tawny owl, red squirrels and woodpeckers. So, it's great for wildlife enthusiasts as the birds can also be watched from inside at the breakfast table or from the sofa. Outside, there's parking for one car (more nearby if you need it) and picnic tables and chairs to enjoy the views.

THE AREA
Manesty is less than a mile from the Derwentwater lakeshore and about the same distance from the pretty village of Grange, with its teashop and double hump-backed bridge over the River Derwent. The 'Honister Rambler' bus takes you into Keswick from the doorstep between Easter and November, or the launch runs all-year round, as does a bus from Grange.

We're in a perfect location for walks, water sports, touring the villages, or just sitting back to relax! We provide all our guests with our 'walks from the door' which we have written ourselves: 11 walks of varying lengths that you can enjoy straight out of the gate.

Our family have lived at Manesty, a traditional Lakeland farmstead in Borrowdale, for nearly 200 years and have a long history of welcoming visitors to share our beautiful part of the world. We live in the house built by Alan's father and grandfather near the original farmstead and let the caravan, original farmhouse and converted barns as holiday accommodation. We're here to help you get the best out of your stay if you want and are always happy to offer advice.

The space
High Seat is a barn which was converted and extended in the 1960s. It has huge picture windows in the sitting room and kitchen/dining room which face south up the valley and has spectacular views.

The cottage can sleep up to 5 in 2 bedrooms: one double bedroom with a king size bed and one family bedroom with a standard double and a single bed. There is one bathroom with a shower over the bath and a wc. The kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with double oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, double sink (with a view), dining table and all the crockery/cutlery/cooking equipment you should need. The sitting room has 3 armchair and a comfy sofa, a wood burning stove and views valley views in 2 directions (including the sunny south aspect). There is a back porch with plenty of space to store boots and coats and a sunny front porch/conservatory where you can sit and relax and enjoy the view!

Outside there is space to park one car (more nearby if you need it) and there is a large south facing lawn.

Our converted traditional Lakeland barn is in the heart of the Lake District National Park in north west England. It has stunning valley, fell and woodland views from the windows. Our nearest town is Keswick (just 5 miles by bus, boat, boot or car).

The space
Cocklety How Stable Loft is part of a converted 17th century barn in an idyllic Lake District location. Situated next to the main farmhouse building, it is nestled at the foot of the slopes of Maiden Moor with sweeping valley views across Borrowdale towards Brown Dodd and King's How and woodland views towards our private small woodland which you are free to explore.

It has 3 bedrooms (1 standard double, 1 double with a king size bed and 1 single),
the kitchen/dining room and a bathroom on the first floor. There is access out the back of the cottage at this level to a sunny patio with garden table and chairs.

On the ground floor the large entrance hall leads to the spacious sitting room with 3 armchairs, a reclining armchair and a little sofa. There is also a washing machine and drier at this level and a shower room.

The cottage is spacious and we offer lower prices for smaller parties of 3 or 4 guests.

Outside at the front of the cottage there is a sheltered lawn and parking for one car (more parking nearby if you need it).

Please note, except for very last minute bookings, arrival/departure days are Mondays and Fridays. If you're looking for other dates, try our Shepherd's hut or Studio apartment at Manesty.
