Second Lounge / Second Bedroom: a comfy room with a large chaise longue (or, on request, made up as a second double or twin bedroom with the option of the chaise longue made up as a double or single sofa-bed plus a further single IKEA Lycksele chair bed with best quality mattress), a 40" flat-screen Sony TV's with DVD player, music player, a selection of classical music, maps (including a helpful Yorkshire Dales raised relief map on the wall), book and DVD info on the Yorkshire Dales. Views over the rooftops and Fold from the large Georgian window, plus a large roof skylight window.

First Floor:

Lounge / dining room: this elegant and peaceful room with period features and views over stone-tiled rooftops and quaint Dickensian style court yard provides an enjoyable place to relax and dine; the room has a 40" flat-screen Sony TV's with DVD player, a comfy sofa, mood lighting, a selection of games.

Shower room: stylish contemporary shower-room with dual-head shower, pearlescent mosaic tiles, soft white towels, ambient lighting and mirrors.

Kitchen: a fully equipped home-from-home kitchen maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness; elegant table and bar stools positioned in a place to enjoy views over the historic Pletts Fold courtyard below (and glimpses into the main market square area of Grassington) - it makes a great spot to use a computer while having cuppa or a convenient place for breakfast; the kitchen also has a CD player with range of classical music and a selection of cook books.

Utility area: just off the kitchen you will find a small utility area with tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner, slow cooker, high chair, iron and ironing board and a range of cleaning products.

Throughout the flat you will find a stunning collection of framed landscape photographs by a local artist featuring Grassington and the surrounding area.

There is secure BT broadband wi-fi internet which is accessible through out the whole apartment.

The property benefits from an abundance of natural light and includes many original property features including original Georgian sash windows, a large ornate south facing window.

Typical of a property of this period (1866), both staircases are relatively steep and narrow which whilst being part of the character of the apartment may cause difficulty for the elderly and/or infirm. Those with young children will also need to bear this in mind although we have stair gates and manage with a 3 year old ourselves in the apartment.

Grassington is a picture postcard village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Set amongst the magnificent limestone scenery of Upper Wharfedale, Grassington is a hub for local tourism offering a wide range of outdoor leisure activities.

There is a rich tapestry of flower-filled meadowland, high fells, heather moors and broad-leaved woodland, all scattered with stone barns, waterfalls and an abundance of drystone walls.

Located in the centre of Grassington, it is a perfect location for taking full advantage of the shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants in the village as well as the Yorkshire Dales where you will find a variety of outdoor (and indoor) adventures. The flat has two double bedrooms, both with ensuite, kitchen with full amenities and a comfortable living area. Parking can be found close to the flat.
Square View is above my shop, Helen Midgley which is a long established Ladies & Gents Shoe and Clothes shop. It was originally a flat and then became part of the shop for many years. We have recently decided to convert it back to a flat for visitors to Grassington to enjoy. The flat has two double ensuite rooms, a well equipped kitchen and open plan living and dining area. We hope we have created a comfortable, stylish space for you to relax and enjoy yourself. Square View is a cosy two bedroom first floor flat for 4 people overlooking Grassington Square. Square View is above my shop, Helen Midgley which is a long established Ladies & Gents Shoe and Clothes shop. It was originally a flat and then became part of the shop for many years. We have decided to convert it back to a flat for visitors to Grassington to enjoy. The flat has two double ensuite rooms, a well equipped kitchen and open plan living and dining area. We hope we have created a comfortable, stylish space for you to relax and enjoy yourself. You will also be staying in the heart of Herriot Country as Grassington is the location for the ficitional village of Darrowby in Channel 5's All Creatures Great and Small. PLEASE NOTE this is a first floor flat so there is stairs for access and internal steps into the living area, kitchen and back bedroom. We welcome children but please be aware due to the open plan nature of the stairs to the living area, stairgates cannot be used and therefore may not be suitable for really small children (see photos)

Shower room: stylish contemporary shower-room with dual-head shower, pearlescent mosaic tiles, soft white towels, ambient lighting and mirrors.

Kitchen: a fully equipped home-from-home kitchen maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness; elegant table and bar stools positioned in a place to enjoy views over the historic Pletts Fold courtyard below (and glimpses into the main market square area of Grassington) - it makes a great spot to use a computer while having cuppa or a convenient place for breakfast; the kitchen also has a CD player with range of classical music and a selection of cook books.

Utility area: just off the kitchen you will find a small utility area with tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner, slow cooker, high chair, iron and ironing board and a range of cleaning products.

Throughout the flat you will find a stunning collection of framed landscape photographs by a local artist featuring Grassington and the surrounding area.

The property benefits from an abundance of natural light and includes many original property features including original Georgian sash windows, a large ornate south facing window.

Typical of a property of this period (1866), both staircases are relatively steep and narrow which whilst being part of the character of the apartment may cause difficulty for the elderly and/or infirm. Those with young children will also need to bear this in mind although we have stair gates and manage with a 3 year old ourselves in the apartment.

Directly at the front of your accommodation there is a small flagged seating area and a convenient reserved parking space for your car.

Grassington is a picture postcard village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Set amongst the magnificent limestone scenery of Upper Wharfedale, Grassington is a hub for local tourism offering a wide range of outdoor leisure activities.

There is a rich tapestry of flower-filled meadowland, high fells, heather moors and broad-leaved woodland, all scattered with stone barns, waterfalls and an abundance of drystone walls.

There are various popular and traditional community events held throughout the year including the atmospheric Dickensian Christmas Festival, the early summer Grassington Festival and the September 1950’s weekend.

Bank House is a lovely renovated cottage a few minutes walk from Grassington's main street. The property has a modern look but retains the character of a Dales cottage.

Grassington is the setting of the popular TV programme "All Creatures Great and Small" and you may well see filming take place when Grassington transforms into the fictional 1930s town of Darrowby.

There is no parking directly outside the property door but we often pull up outside the property to unload and park nearby. There is a free parish council car park around 1 minute walk away though a sign says you can make an optional £3 donation to the Parish if you want.

We also have a free permit to park anytime in the Yorkshire Dales National Visitors Centre beyond the bottom of the high street in Grassington.

We love our dog and wanted to make a space for four legged friends too. There is a warm dog shower on the outside of the house to clean off your dog or wash them if they have rolled in something horrid.

The garden is accessible and as such does not have a gate on it so is not enclosed or secure. Dogs are very welcome and there are plenty of places nearby you can take them on a lead.

There is an EV charger which guests are welcome to use for an additional cost. Please discuss this with us before using it.

Out of these hours the courtyard has sole use to the family retreat, it offers the perfect spot to bask in the sunshine with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or unwind beneath the stars with a glass of wine. And when you’re ready to explore, the surrounding countryside beckons with its scenic trails, charming villages, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Conveniently located in Grassington’s main square with shops, tea rooms and inns serving food.
Grassington hosts events around the year with the Summer Festival, 40’s weekend and Christmas markets. It has also provided the backdrop for all 5 series of ’All Creatures Great and Small’. The nearby villages of Kettlewell, Buckden and Linton also offer charming places to eat. Skipton, with its castle, bustling market and canal boats, is only 10 miles away. Historic Bolton Abbey on the River Wharfe is close by, as well as the scenic Settle-Carlisle railway over the Ribblehead viaduct. Slightly further afield is the town of Harrogate and the historic city of York. There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property. There are steps within the property.

This is a new renovated apartment, mixing the old with the new. We have tried our best to keep the building in keeping with its history. However there are many steps / stairs within the property, so on the basis we would not advise any one with mobility issues to stay.

A stunning barn conversion recently completed in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Grassington.
Our home offers incredible views of Wharfedale and is ideally located for a short walk to the main street, shops, cafes and pubs.
There are plenty of adventures to discover on the doorstep with the underfloor heating and log burner waiting to warm you up on your return; or if the temperature permits a patio area to sit outside and watch the sunset over the dale.

The space
We spent the last year designing, renovated and decorated our barn to converting it into a fantastic homely place which we hope you love as much as we do.

The private, detached, well located property sleeps 4 across 2 rooms with Bedroom 2 able to be set up as a double or 2 single beds.
The ground floor is open plan with a kitchen, dining and lounge area centred around the log burner. The first floor provides the two rooms described above and the bathroom.

Key features include: an electric car charging point, log burner, underfloor heating, well equipped kitchen, Wifi, TV, outdoor seating area, dishwasher, free private parking, washing machine and dryer.

Other things to note
Grassington is the filming location of popular TV series All creatures great and small.

Due to damage to the property we are only accepting well behaved dogs who are to remain downstairs during the stay.

Summers Barn is a traditional barn conversion in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Grassington is a delightful village and the property is a stone’s throw from the village square with its three pubs and local shops. It is in an ideal location for exploring the delights of Upper Wharfedale, whether out on the fells, by the river or in one of the many attractive villages.

The space
The kitchen has an Aga as well as an electric double oven and hob. There is off-road parking to the side for 2 vehicles.

Guest access
Apart from the 3 bedrooms there is a spacious bathroom with a walk in shower upstairs. Downstairs there is a lounge/dining room, a hallway, a loo, a scullery and a cosy kitchen with an Aga and a large pine table with 6 chairs.
There is a small, secluded and safe garden at the back, next to the parking bay which takes two normal sized cars at a pinch.
