This spacious, single room is situated on the middle floor of the house. It is light and airy with good views of Claife Heights.
It has a custom built single bed with a comfortable inner sprung mattress.
It has its own private bathroom. Toiletries and towels are provided.
It has a microwave, fridge and kettle. Crockery and cutlery are provided, along with tea, coffee and milk. There is also a small dining table.
It has a Samsung 32" Smart TV.

The room is suitable for single travelers only.

The space
The property was built in the Victorian era from Westmorland stone and slate. It is a three story, end terrace, with a small front garden that guests can use.

The house is my main residence. I live on the ground floor of the house. I also have one tenant (very quiet and polite) who lives in one of the upstairs rooms of the house.

Guest Wi-fi is free and usually very good on a mesh system setup.

The house is in a quiet street, situated midway between Windermere village and Bowness. It is a short walk to the local pub, restaurants and the lake.

There is free on-street parking available.

Guests also have access to the front porchway (for hanging coats/leaving walking boots) and use of the front patio seating area.
There is no access to the upstairs kitchen as that is only accessible for the full term tenant.

The rooms are cleaned very well in-between bookings.
Dirty crockery and cutlery can be left downstairs each morning in order for me to clean. Bins are provided outside for rubbish and recycling.

Red Bank is a superior and traditional basement apartment in Windermere.

The property has been recently completely refurbished throughout with new furniture and fittings, yet still retains its traditional cottage feel.

And for the foodies, we’re a 15 min walk into Windermere town centre (shorter if you cut across the park) where there are loads of top bars and restaurants to try.

The space
We’re very proud of our bnb and we like to keep it clean and tidy.

We consider ourselves quality over quantity folks. Our space isn’t the biggest, but our memory foam bed is super comfy, our shower powerful and our coffee is never instant!

The bnb is attached to our home in a quiet residential area. It has its own private entry (and garden, should you wish to enjoy the sunshine) meaning you can come and go whenever you like.

The space has an area to make a good brew, mini fridge and access to wifi. There’s also plenty of parking.

The Windermere area
You'll discover fine varied walking country around Lake Windermere, at the heart of the Lake District. Hire a boat and take to the lake itself, or use the network of footpaths to reach the best high-level views. There are lots of options for places to visit, including Ambleside Roman Fort and Troutbeck Park, which was once owned by Beatrix Potter.

Enjoy this beautiful region and unwind amidst breathtaking scenery at any time of the year. Ramble through some of the best walking country in Britain; get out your mountain bike and go off road or simply enjoy the pleasures of the delightful towns and villages dotted throughout the lakes and Cumbria.

The railway arrived in 1857, making the area much more accessible to visitors and with this demand grew a wealth of Lake District Hotels and a multitude of natural and 'built' attractions. The railway still exists today and brings people from all over the world to this special area of the Lake District National Park. As well as being a sustainable way to travel, most of the Windermere hotels are only a short walk from the station, or at worst a five minute taxi ride.

In terms of attractions, Lake Windermere is well known as England's largest Lake at over 10 miles long and is also the deepest at 65 metres. There are numerous outstanding viewing points within easy reach either by car, or by short walk. Gummer's Howe is probably the most famous being situated at the south end of Lake Windermere. You can drive most of the way, leaving only a 30 minute walk to marvel at the panoramic views over Lake Windermere and across to Morecambe Bay. To see the Lakes from a different perspective, Arnside Knott rewards those who take this gentle climb with stunning views of the Kent Estuary and Morecambe Bay; simply head for the viewpoint. For a more challenging, but still enjoyable walk for most, take the 2 hour round trip to Brantfell and Post Knott. Take the camera, as there are wonderful views of Windermere, the stunning Langdales and maybe even the Lake District Hotel you've chosen. Hope for a clear day and always check the weather forecasts before heading out. Suitable footwear is always important, even on these more leisurely walks.

Around Lake Windermere you'll find an array of villages and hamlets to enjoy. While the drive will be slow around the twisting back roads, you'll discover:
+ Fell Foot Park [National Trust] where you can enjoy an ice cream and hire a boat;
+ Aquarium of the Lakes and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway at Lakeside, both being attractions you can enjoy on a sunny or rainy day;
+ At Graythwaite you can enjoy Graythwaite Hall Gardens, which are particularly impressive in the Spring;
+ Head up towards Sawrey and visit ‘Hill Top', a 17th century farmhouse where Beatrix Potter weaved her lyrical magic.
+ At the north end of Lake Windermere, Ambleside is a Mecca for walking enthusiasts and you can take a lake cruise back to your hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere;
+ Visit the Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness-on-Windermere
