Good food provided by local pub - excellent staff" - "Lovely location a couple of minutes walk to the village centre and the quirky pub restaurant affiliated to the guesthouse. Food was limited but fine and the staff lovely and attentive. Made a nice change from the hotels we normally frequent in Grasmere. A minor issue would be the need for a shower attachment to the bath in the suite we stayed in. The garden was quiet and secluded where we enjoyed a bottle of champagne we brought with us as an aperitif before the meal. English breakfast in the morning at the pub was excellent and we came away with a bottle of Grasmere gin from the attached brewery. What’s not to like about this quiet hidden gem. - "Amazing, spacious hotel room. Well decorated, good amenities and very clean. Excellent value. Good location too, in walking distance of everything in Ambleside and the bus stop to the rest of the Lakes is just around the corner. One minor issue, the hotel was advertised was 'pay at the property' on hotels.com but the hotel attempted to take payment a week before arrival - after speaking to the hotel they clarified this was the hotel's policy and it was resolved. Overall, a very good hotel and experience but this element could be clearer."
