- "High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed. The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls. The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift . Ambleside Cottage, 1 King Street is the end cottage of three in a sunny and central position
close to the centre of Ambleside. It has a small garden area with tables and chairs and a bbq.
The public transport is very near by and there is access to the whole of the lake district from here.
There is a private parking space behind the cottage. It is easy to get around without needing a
car and there are spectacular walks right from the
door.

There are lots of cafes and restaurants near by and there is a ten percent discount in The Copper Pot across the car park for our guests. Breakfast through to early evening meals can be purchased.

Its all about the spectacular view of Grasmere Lake with this cosy cottage for 2. The village is a 10 minute walk with shops, bars, tea rooms and restaurants.

The space
Grasmere View Cottage does not disappoint with a spectacular view of Grasmere Lake. The everchanging scenery can be admired from the garden, enjoy a picnic whilst gazing out over the crystal waters of the lake. In an elevated position, the cottage is all on the ground floor of the owners holiday home.

The cottage has electric heating and comprises: Spacious lounge/dining room with TV, DVD player, selection of books and electric stove effect fire. The dining table is positioned in front of the French doors with a view to the lake. Kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Outside utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Double bedroom furnished with pine furniture. Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

All electric, bed linen and towels provided. Private parking for 1 car. Lawned garden with view across the lake, please note there are a few steep slopes and a small fence in the garden with seating to admire the view.

Stables Cottages in Far Sawrey has been tastefully transformed into a romantic retreat for two, conveniently located for the best that the Lake District has to offer. Near Sawrey was home to the children's author Beatrix Potter, and her house 'Hill Top' is close by. Stables is a true Lake District escape for 2 and the perfect place from which to explore everything the Lakes has to offer

The space
Built in 1861, it was once a well-to-do gentleman's country residence. Perched high above the valley, it is now a collection of beautifully converted properties, each with its own character and charm.

Ground floor
Entrance into the cottage from the cobbled courtyard. In the small entrance hall there's plenty of hanging space, and notice the photo of bygone visitors arriving at Sawrey Knotts by pony-drawn carriage at the bottom of the stairs.

To maximise the wonderful views, the cottage has been configured upside-down. From the entrance hall, a door leads to the bright and light double bedroom (with king size bed) and modern en suite bathroom with W.C, bath and shower over.

First floor
Stairs from the hall lead up to the spacious open-plan living room and kitchen area above. With high vaulted ceilings and original exposed timbers, the views towards Windermere, Gummer's Howe and the countryside beyond are stunning.

The Aga log-burning stove with its tall chimney pipe is sure to keep you snug, and the fully equipped modern kitchen with electric oven, ceramic hob, extractor unit, fridge, microwave and dishwasher brings the Lake District feel indoors with its locally quarried slate worktops and flooring.

There's a reclining sofa for two, a table for two (with views to the lake), additional seating, and all the modern entertainment features including TV, DVD and mini Hi-Fi.

Outside
Use of the beautiful shared gardens extending to 3 acres, including seating, dog pen, lawns, seasonal shrubs and mature trees.
