The cottage is situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the heart of the famous Three Peaks Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, offering some of the finest walking country in the UK . Settle to Carlisle railway runs near the cottages, station being only 10 minutes walk away. The attractive town on Settle, 6 miles away and the picturesque Dales town on Hawes 15 miles away. The area is also well known for its Pot Holing, Alum Pot being 3 miles. White Scar Caves and Ingleton Waterfalls being a shot car journey. The village has two puiblic houses, The Crown and The Golden Lion both within walking distance. The beautiful St. Oswald church is at the south end of the village and is well worth a visit

The views of Pen-y-ghent were unanticipated and breathtaking, and Horton is a lovely village with a nice play park and river. Lots of great places (Ribblehead, Malham, Settle) in very easy reach, and I ran around the Three Peaks course from the door which was a highlight. Would recommend, so clean and very tasteful. Well appointed and easy access whenever you arrive. Perfect."

The property also offers excellent views across one of the three peaks, Pen-y-Ghent. The cottage is a listed building containing many original features balanced with modern facilities for a perfect stay.
Situated adjacent to the National Trust car park, it’s a perfect base for the 3 peaks. The house has many walking books for guests use if people want to explore the surrounding area.
Hannam Cottage boasts a cosy lounge, 3 bedrooms, kitchen/diner, bathroom with power shower, private riverside garden with seating and bike storage (large locked shed).

The dining area comfortably seats 5. The back of the kitchen also has a really handy row of coat hooks and boot storage.

The bathroom has a newly fitted walk in shower and heated towel rail.

There is a secure riverside country garden with stunning views, a patio and seating to enjoy a cold beer or wine after a day exploring.

The cottage is situated very close to the National Trust car park (less than 1 minute walk), there are 2 parking passes available for guests use. The passes allow guests to park in the reserved spaces next to the cottage at no cost for their entire stay.
Other things to note
The cottage is in a village setting with stunning views of Pen y Ghent, Horton is a village with a single road running through it, the cottage stands next to this road, and so there may be occasional traffic noise.

The space
Make your way inside via the front door and find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Put your shopping away in the cupboards and fridge and brew a cup of tea to enjoy with the Yorkshire fat rascals you have bought from a bakery. Pull a chair up to the table in the kitchen area or wander over to the sofas to sit back and relax in the lounge space. Watch the Smart TV or a DVD or listen to music through the Bluetooth speaker as you chat about your day. Light the wood burner in here to throw out a warming glow during the autumn and winter months. When eyelids begin to droop, make your way up to the first floor of the cottage to enjoy a good night’s sleep in either the king-size bedroom, which has a TV/DVD, or the single. There is a family shower room with underfloor heating. Have morning coffee out in the seating area to the front of the property or in the back garden where you can take in the views and watch the trains go by. There is space to store bicycles and to park one car at the cottage.
Keen hikers might like to attempt Pen-Y-Ghent, Hull Pot and Fountains Fell, all within a 4-mile radius of the cottage. Head out along the Pennine Way for an exhilarating stretch too, perhaps walking 14 miles all the way to Hawes.
