At the time of this review there is also a Nespresso coffee machine in the flat if you want to bring any compatible Pods with you. There is also a Sainsburys literally outside the flat which is very handy for getting any food, milk etc you need for the self catering facilities."

Hideaway Cottage is a beautiful stone cottage tucked away, as its name alludes, in the very heart of the pretty village of Ampleforth, which lies just 19 miles from the historic City of York. The village boasts two thriving public houses, a well-stocked village store and a lovely coffee shop. This quaint cottage is filled with natural light and has recently been renovated by the owners Emma and Tim, who have created a real home from home.

The space
Step into the deceptive cottage through the conservatory/dining area, which is filled with natural light and taking in the pretty garden views. A door leads you directly into the cottage kitchen, which is sure to be any cooks dream space! Real thought and care have gone into the design and the attention to detail, which makes for a beautiful space for cooking up a hearty breakfast or a tasty supper. Everything you need is here to include an oven/hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and expresso coffee machine.
French doors lead directly into the spacious and inviting living space with comfy sofas, providing plenty of space for relaxing by the cosy log burner. There is a smart TV too, perfect for watching your favourite movies whist relaxing after a busy day exploring the hidden gems! From the sitting room the staircase leads to the first floor ….
The first of two bedrooms is filled with natural light with a soft and calming colour pallet. The king bed takes centre stage in this relaxing space and is adorned with the softest pillows and sumptuous duvet, making this the perfect place for a restful night's sleep. The second bedroom has a double bed and has lovely views over the cottage garden.
The bathroom is also on the first floor and is the perfect fit for the cottage. The bathtub is just what you need, for soaking any aching muscles after a ramble across the Moors. You will also find a shower over the bath, basin and loo.
Outside there is the prettiest private terraced garden with a table and chairs for al fresco dining while the bench is the perfect spot for enjoying a sundowner as you take in the delights of this lovely garden.
Directly from the cottage you can pick up local walking trails and head out exploring.

Naburn Grange Cottage is a farm worker’s cottage attached to an 18th century riverside farmhouse in between the villages of Naburn and Stillingfleet. With easy access to York by car, bus, cycle track or (in the summer months) riverbus, you can explore the city’s history or the beauty of the surrounding countryside. This one-bedroomed cottage is well-equipped and private, with the owners next door for information or advice on your visit.

The cottage has an entrance porch, open plan living room and kitchen with wood-burning stove, wifi, TV, fridge, electric oven and hob, sink, microwave, dishwasher and everything you need. Off the main street in the small historic village of Linton-on-Ouse which lies close to the national trust property of Beningborugh Hall and within 30 mins drive of York, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon. The area provides open countryside which is popular with cyclists and walkers. “Fig Tree Cottage” is a recently completed conversion project finished to a high modern standard providing quality accommodation. There are a couple of pubs and the Lock House Pub serves food and takeaways.

Fig Tree Cottage provides self contained accommodation with private entrance and comprises of lounge, large kitchen diner with induction hob (stored in lower kitchen cupboard), combination microwave oven allowing cooking from a pizza to a whole chicken, toaster, kettle and fridge, double bedroom with en-suite wet room. Ideally suits a couple, however the lounge has double sofabed which is suitable for 2 small children.

The lounge has bi-folding doors which leads onto a pretty, courtyard for guests to use. The courtyard is situated near to the main house so you will see myself and my family passing by.
