Step inside and feel the history of this lovely cottage. Relax in the snug living room in front of the welcoming wood burner and enjoy a movie on the flatscreen TV. The kitchen has everything you require to cook up a tasty breakfast or a delicious home cooked meal should you wish to enjoy an evening in. Traditional cottage stairs wind up to the first floor where you will find the house bathroom offering both bath and shower options. Opposite is a double bedroom with brass bedframe. The original features shine through in this room with the original hearth stone still in place and the wooden floor painstakingly restored by the owners. Once again take the wood panelled winding staircase to the second floor and find a further double and single room; the single room offers lovely views across the town’s roof tops to the church beyond and both rooms retain the original wood floors. All three rooms are beautifully presented and have a real cosy cottage feel; the deep filled mattresses and luxury bedding will guarantee you a great nights sleep; even the windows to the front of the house have been fitted with acoustic glass. Nothing has been too much trouble with this renovation.

Upstairs, it's just as traditional with two double bedrooms at the front of the cottage and a single bedroom at the back with views over the moors. Finishing off the space upstairs is a family bathroom, with a proper bath and power shower.

Outside, there's a pretty front garden, and parking for two cars, plus the secure garage, where you'll find a few bits like the BBQ. The best space outside is the private terrace at the back of the cottage. It's totally concealed from the front, and gives you a great area to sit, eat out and enjoy the views over the fields and beyond to the North York Moors.

Isabella Cottage is a beautiful limestone cottage. The cottage is listed and dates back over 250 years. 'Isabella Cottage' came from Isabella Norcliffe who was one of the first loves of Ann Lister (Gentleman Jack) and who was the daughter of Norcliffe Norcliffe.

This beautiful lodge set in the picturesque countryside of North Yorkshire is ideal for families or friends looking for a relaxing holiday and the perfect base to explore the surrounding countryside and plentiful attractions. Nearby Malton (3.5 miles) is a charming village that is also the foodie capital of Yorkshire, so indulge in the best local produce at the market or in one of the many eateries.

The space
This lovely lodge, set over a single level, has a large and inviting open-plan living area. Plenty of natural light and muted colours create a relaxed and homely feel. Sink into the plush sofas and unwind after a day of exploring; chat or watch a family film on the Smart TV. On cooler evenings, the electric fire provides a warm and cosy atmosphere. The contemporary kitchen has all the appliances you need to make preparing family favourites a cinch. Enjoy eating together in the dining area with pretty views through the large windows. There is a choice of three comfortable bedrooms – one double with an en-suite bathroom, one double and one bunk bed – so offering perfect flexibility for friends or families sharing the lodge. Completing this property is the family bathroom. Outside is a spacious and delightful decked area with garden furniture, making this the ideal spot for dining alfresco on fine evenings.

Family adventures begin with the historic city of York just 19 miles away; explore The Lanes and the castle walls or take a trip on a boat to see the city from a different perspective. Historic Castle Howard is 5 miles away, a perfect day out for all ages and a great starting point for walks into the Howardian Hills. Alternatively, it is less than 10 miles to Pickering, where you can join the North York Moors Railway for an unforgettable steam train ride across the moors to the seaside town of Whitby.
