Top Gallant Holiday Cottage with great sea views in an unspoilt bay. Bookings are for 2 adults. At the front of the cottage there is a veranda with table and chairs with one of the best views in the village. We have WiFi, Smart TV (with Netflix and Prime Video). Runswick Bay is a pretty village with white washed cottages and a lot of charm. It lies between Staithes and Sandsend and in close proximity to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay and Saltburn. The Cleveland Way crosses the Runswick beach. This cottage is warm with electric heaters and a woodburning stove and provides a great break all year round.

High Chapel is a recently converted Former Methodist chapel situated in the North Yorkshire National Park in the heart of the pretty seaside village of Runswick Bay. From your doorstep you join the Cleveland Way which runs along the cliff edge linking scenic coastal villages and bays from Filey in the south and up to Saltburn in the north, then continuing into the North York National Park. Just steps away you have a popular pub and hotel which serves hearty food, there is also a second pub and café all within a three-minute walk away. From the top of the village you can follow the footpath down a steep slope towards the bay where you have a cluster of historic houses teetering above the sea. There’s a small café as well as a quaint pub, exploring the winding footpaths between the cottages is like stepping back in time. The beach is beautiful, as well as being both dog and child friendly all year round. For days out you will be spoilt for choice.

Further north along the coast is Staithes and Saltburn, the latter a surfers’ paradise with a Victorian pier and tram, and beyond the enormous beach going to Marske and Redcar. To the south at Sandsend the waves dramatically crash over the sea wall at high tide, Whitby, bursting with history and drawing guests from around the world; the tangle of cobbled streets in the village of Robin Hood’s Bay cling to the cliff edge, with houses spilling right down to the water’s edge. Perhaps take the heritage steam train from Whitby on an adventure across the Esk valley, there are some quaint villages to visit along the way. For those who love the water you can join a local surf school, or row along the river Esk in the village of Ruswarp. For history lovers there are a selection of museums in Whitby as well as the nautical museum in Staithes and the mining museum in Skinningrove. At the top of the village a minute’s walk away away is a popular pub and hotel serving evening meals. Runswick Bay has arguably the most beautiful beach along this coastline. From the top of the village it takes just over 10 minutes to walk down the hill to the bay with a cluster of historic houses teetering above the sea. Down beside the bay is a small café, a traditional pub, a sailing club, paddleboarding and kayaking through the warmer months. It is a sheltered bay, so the water is often calm, whereas surfers have neighbouring Saltburn and Sandsend where the waves are often much bigger. The beach is beautiful, as well as being both dog and child friendly. From the clifftops you can join the Cleveland Way which links scenic coastal villages and bays from Filey in the south and up to Saltburn in the north, then continuing into the North York Moors National Park.

For days out you will be spoilt for choice. Further north along the coast is Staithes and Saltburn, the latter a surfers’ paradise with a Victorian pier and funicular railway, with an enormous beach stretching to Marske and Redcar. To the south is Sandsend, where the waves dramatically crash over the sea wall at high tide. Whitby is bursting with history and draws guests from around the world. The tangle of cobbled streets in the village of Robin Hood’s Bay cling to the cliff top, with houses spilling right down to the water’s edge. The space
On entering Sandpiper Cottage which is just perfect for two to four people, you will find yourself in the entrance vestibule ready to hang your coat and head into the welcoming, snug lounge area.
With comfortable seating on two large sofas, TV with Freeview and traditional wood burning / multi fuel stove (starter pack of logs included October to February), the cosy lounge is perfect for relaxing in at the end of a wonderful day.

One (1) well behaved dog is welcome. Dogs must not be left unattended. They must not go on our furniture.

Leading through to a well equipped open plan kitchen / dining area, there is a dining table with seating for 4 people, fridge / freezer, electric oven and 4 ring induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee machine (takes Nespresso pods) and kettle.

From this light and airy room, French doors lead out on to the enclosed patio / garden area perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining. In addition, there is a downstairs bathroom with walk in shower, WC, heated towel rail and sink. There's handy utility space for muddy boots and a washing machine also here if needed.

Upstairs you will find the main bedroom at the front of the property with a comfy king size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and walk in wardrobe. Overlooking the garden to the rear, you will find a smaller double bedroom with one bedside table (please note the bed is against the wall on one side) and the house bathroom with walk in shower, WC, heated towel rail and sink.

The house is electrically heated throughout for you to adjust as required as Runswick Bay is a village without gas.

Gather with your nine loved ones and stay at this fabulous, spacious home set bedside the seaside in Runswick Bay. With many beautiful walks and cycling routes on the doorstep, you can enjoy the great outdoors before spending evenings dining alfresco in the superb garden.

The space
Hang your coats or beach towels in the hallway before warming up in front of the open fire set in a Victorian fireplace in the lounge. There is plenty of comfortable seating for all guests to relax together and watch movies or plan the days ahead. The spacious kitchen has plenty of storage and all the equipment you need to rustle up tasty meals, there is also a handy utility room with laundry facilities, and a large pantry. You can then eat together in the large dining room which has an extendable table and enough seating for all nine guests. Completing the ground floor is a useful cloakroom WC. The bedrooms are all situated on the first and second floors. On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, a separate bathroom, and a cosy seating nook with a TV and reading space on the landing. The second floor has the remaining three bedrooms, a twin, double, and single, as well as a shower room. Outside to the rear is a fabulous garden, immediately you will find a patio area with seating, and a short path leads to a wonderful lawned garden with a further patio, seating, and a BBQ.

Runswick Bay is a pretty seaside village located on the Yorkshire coastline. There are a couple of cafes within 100 metres you can enjoy, before heading down to the pretty beach (400 metres) and trying out paddleboarding or kayaking. Hop in the car and visit the wonderful town of Whitby (9 miles) which has a rich history and eclectic mix of shops and restaurants.

As day turns to dusk, head to the first floor to find three wonderfully presented bedrooms or climb to the second floor to find the final two double bedrooms before retiring for a well-earned rest.
