- "Fantastic cottage with amazing views. The cottage has almost everything you need making it a very relaxing experience. Fields as far as the eye can see. Farmer Andy and his cows are very friendly. We had a very small problem and it was sorted out very quickly. The hosts did bring someone round to fill the hot tub up to enable us to get in which took around 30-40 minutes. But then we discovered the cooker doesn’t work by this time we had had enough and just packed up and went home. My verdict on this accommodation is don’t bother and certainly get anything they offer in writing. "

Riding Hills Farm is a cosy, attractive and well equipped one bedroomed cottage situated in one of the prettiest and most interesting parts of Northumberland.

Within two miles of the historic town of Corbridge, this comfortable cottage is tucked away in a rural location with stunning views over the Tyne Valley. Despite its rural setting it is close to some excellent pubs and restaurants, and the market town of Hexham.

The cottage is attached to our farmhouse with a private entrance and enclosed garden, with many excellent walks and places to visit nearby. We are close to several key Roman sites in the area including Corstopitum and Hadrian’s Wall. Newcastle is 18 miles away and the stunning Northumberland coastline is only a little further.

Situated just a couple of miles south of Alnwick in Hampeth, Dexter Cottage is in a terrace of former miners’ cottages, originally built for the workers at Whittle Colliery.

Boasting a really tranquil space that we ourselves have loved spending time in, it really is a genuine home from home.

With its location adjacent to the A1, the major road route through Northumberland, Dexter Cottage makes an ideal base for exploring both coast and country, and everything in between.

The space
The cottage is single storey (there are 2/3 steps up to the entrances, both front and rear), with two bedrooms sleeping up to four adults. All of the rooms are accessed from the main hallway, with the exception of the kitchen, which is off the dining room towards the rear of the property.

Living room - log burner, 43" 4k television with Freeview and access to Netflix (own account required), PS3 games console with a selection of games and dvds.
Kitchen - fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, slimline dishwasher, washing machine.
Bedroom 1 - king size bed, work station, wardrobe & drawer storage.
Bedroom 2 - two single beds, wardrobe & drawer storage

The design of this end terraced cottage internally is unashamedly masculine but with all the comfort and luxury that is required for a romantic break. The decoration in the main bedroom and sitting room is an eclectic mix of beautiful engravings, watercolours, and quirky decorative features. If Hemingway or Shackleton had a small cottage in Northumberland this is how they would have it!

Thimble Cottage, a Grade II listed property, is perfectly suited to couples who like the style and feel of a traditional countryside lodge. Located within the grounds of Lemmington Hall, the property boasts a tranquil setting that is ideal for exploring the beautiful surrounding area. The historic market town of Alnwick with its famous Castle and Gardens is just 4 miles away and the beautiful sandy beaches of the Northumbrian coastline a further 4 miles.

To the west you can explore Cragside, Rothbury and the Northumberland National Park, all just a short journey away.

Beautiful country cottage set in the picturesque Derwent Valley. We offer a well equiped cottage for a hasstle free
stay.
We are close to Beamish open air museum, Newcastle city centre and the Metro Centre shopping Mall. We are a 1 hour drive from the Scottish Boarders and a 30 minute drive to local beach.

The cottage is set at the top of a hill overlooking the Derwent valley it is ajoined to the main house but has its own access, private, fenced patio area and parking for up to two cars parked side by side.

We are perfectly situated for sight seeing in the local area. a stones through away from the A1 offers you easy accessibility to the surrounding areas from coast to countyside.

The cottage is quaint and ideal for a quiet romantic stay, or a small family looking for a quiet setting.

The cottage does have steps leading down to the front doors. The steps do not have rails.
The cottage also has a staircase which leads to the bedroom and the only bathroom - which is en-suite

One dog is permitted.
An extra dog can possibly be accepted upon request but this must be pre approved.

Dogs guests must NEVER be left unattended in the cottage unless they are crated. if dogs are discovered alone in the cottage and not crated you will be asked to leave without a refund as this is a strict house rule.
Dog are not permitted on the furniture or the bed.
Dirty paw prints, excessive dog hair (if you have let you dog on the furniture) or any other animal related mess or fouling on the furniture or bed and bedding will incur extra cleaning fees and or full cost of replacing any fabrics or furniture that have become stained and ruined due to not following the rules regarding pets. The charge for not observing these rules are a minimum of £100
Dogs must be on a lead at all times when walking on the land. we have an unpredicatable dog on the land and other wildlife including Horses.
Please ensure all Dog Poo is bagged and put into main commercial bin in the Stables Carpark

Guest access
Guests are able to wander the land we just ask you to be mindful of horses that may be being led to and from fields and also not to enter fields that they are grazing in or the livery yard without staff or permission. This is for insurance purposes and health and safety. All the horses on the land are privetly owned.
entrance on to the yard and dogs being off lead without permission is a strict NO.

I do request to know the full names of all adults and children staying in the cottage. I also ask for the ages of the children - this is to allow me to have the cottage ready with the correct bedding etc available. ( we do have a travel cot and a single zed bed availble for younger children that can easily be placed in the bedroom)
some may not find the place suitable for children 2 and under _ there is no carpet downstairs. There is no stair gate available.

May not be suitable for people with severe mobility problems - please feel free to ask as many questions regarding access as you need.
