- "I stayed here whilst travelling to and from France and Germany. Out of the 6 hotels, I stayed in over the Christmas and new year period, this was by far my favourite. The room was really clean and the bed was comfy with great pillows. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to park outside the hotel for no charge and I made use of the free public transport card that is provided by the hotel. As the weather was not good, I caught the tram into the centre. The stop is literally opposite the hotel. You can also use the ticket for the funicular railway. The hotel provided a really good map of the centre and information on the trams. Finally the breakfast was really good. The coffee was the best I'd had and I felt that it was well worth the money. I have already recommended this hotel to friends."

We didn't eat anything at the hotel so cannot comment on it but the dining and reception areas downstairs have very nice decor and ambience. Check in and check out was a breeze and all staff were very helpful and professional. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again if I visit Bern again. "

I was at first a bit disappointed that I was not in the city center BUT it turns out it was a 4 stop bus ride which was about 6 minutes to get to the main train station. Please note that I am not faulting this hotel, just giving the whole picture. I arrived at the hotel only to find it was jazz themed which made me feel all warm and fuzzy. This was so cool. My room was cozy and had a Nespresso machine which made some good coffee compared to the stuff we get back in the USA. I ate dinner there once and had two breakfasts, both I thought were worth the price. The WIFI was great too. Now that you have the full picture, I will say this was a blessing in disguise and I'm more than happy I stayed here and would definitely return. The front desk was overly helpful when I had mentioned I was looking for a few things and directed me where I may find them. I only gave 4 stars for 'area around the property' as honestly there was nothing around there to do, but it was super quiet and I could see the stars at night. This place does have AC which was great as I was in Bern during a heatwave.."

Alternately it’s a ten minute walk to the Rosengarten for that perfect view of Bern. The room was immaculate but could be a little bigger - but what do you expect from a capital city centre hotel? If you’re looking for a slightly cheaper alternative to being right in the centre then this is throughly recommended. "
