We did wish we had visited in summer to enjoy the pool, and it was a bit disappointing to learn that the spa is no longer operating — we would have loved to use those amenities. Also, while the food was exquisite, it was quite rich — more casual dining options would have been a welcome addition for longer stays. It’s worth noting that the château isn’t close to central Nantes, so we ended up spending quite a bit on taxis — but we were aware of this going in. Overall, this is a very, very special place — elegant, peaceful, and indulgent. We’d return in a heartbeat. "

Dog friendly and there is a great public open space on the other side of the road where dogs can be exercised. Unfortunately we could not use the restaurant because a wedding party was using it. There was no curtain on the bathroom window which made me a little uncomfortable, but that’s just me. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our only negative was that we decided to splurge and spend 40 euros to have our laundry done rather than waste a vacation day at a laundromat. They were nice enough to do it on a Sunday too! But, all of my husbands shirts and jeans came back very very wrinkled. Some were so bad, he couldn’t wear them again on the trip. That was the only disappointment. We didn’t complain, so it’s possible they would redone it for us. Overall, I recommend a stay here!"
