- "It was my fourth visit to the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel offers free coffee till 3pm daily and I enjoyed their daily breakfast. It was very nice surprise when I discovered that the small and quiet city Shimada has several interesting attractions: The world's longest wood bridge, from where in sunny days there is a magnificent view of Fuji Mountain; The old buildings in the east bank of Ooi river that show how and why of man-powered Ooi river crossing during Edo era, one of the most difficult points of ancient Tokkaido route. And what is the best, no one else except me in the bucolic and very quiet street when elsewhere in Japan is overcrowded with tourists. Also, in the neighboring station Kanaya, steam locomotive tours departure daily following he course odd Ooi river. Regarding the hotel, is is clean and comfort, with very kind staff and good breakfast. In summary, very nice choice for the days without other options."
