The laundry room/mud room is equipped with a new Maytag washer and dryer, clothes hanging organizer, and utility sink and also functions as a mudroom with a bench/cabinet with hooks.

The livingroom, kitchen, lake room, bathroom, and laundry room have all been newly renovated. There is a sleeper sofa and a double recliner love seat; swivel rocker chair; and a live edge wood bartop with three stools in the livingroom.

The kitchen has a table with six chairs; new appliances; a Keurig Duo coffee maker; K-cups; sugar; creamer; blender; coffee grinder; toaster; electric kettle; ample cabinets; granite countertops; and stone backsplash.

The lake room has three walls of double hung windows with lake views; two sectional sofas that seat a total of eleven people; coffee tables; floor lamps; and a ceiling fan with light.

The game room is accessed from the back deck and has lake views; a full sofa, bookshelves, tables and lamps; a foosball table; a kitchenette with sink and mini frig; a pub table with four chairs; a tv; cornhole and hillbilly golf games; board games; and a tackle closet for fishing gear.

Outside, there is off-street parking for six vehicles (overnight on-street parking is not allowed); a large deck space with sectional sofa, tables and chairs, a bar top area with seating, and a covered porch with lounger seating; a new grill; new fully concreted fire pit with grill top and adirondak seating; and automatic lighting. There is a 9' wide boat house (no lift) and a dock (with ladder to the water and concrete benches) available for your boating needs (the boathouse will be upgraded to a boat lift which can handle most pontoons in the near future). The backyard is fully fenced in for safety, however, the gate does not have a child proof lock so please watch your little ones. . NOTE REGARDING HEATING/AC: This property has two separate central heating and AC units and stand-alone AC units in Bedrooms 2 & 3. The thermostat for the first central unit is located in the living room and controls the climate in the downstairs areas (including the Game Room), the stairs and small desk area, and Bedrooms 2 and 3. The thermostat for the second central unit is located in Bedroom 1 and controls the climate for the entire primary bedroom suite and the hall near the bathroom.

NOTE REGARDING FIRE ESCAPE STAIRS: Bedroom 1 has access to a fire escape which consists of a large hatch and a latch which opens up to a very sturdy, large wooden stairway that connects to the Game Room. These stairs are for Emergency Use only. For safety, we have placed signs to that effect and have also installed baby gates at the top and bottom of these stairs in case little ones are around.

The space
This cottage is FUN with custom designed themed rooms and a new stenciled patio that overlooks an island full of wildlife just across the channel. It has a boat dock for your use or bring some rafts and just chill in the water under the sun. We recommend water shoes while swimming because of shells and unknown items that may be on the water floor. At night turn on the overhead led string lights to set the mood and enjoy the deck that overlooks the patio.

- "Absolutely stunning home with Newly renovated bathrooms, Tucktaway in a quiet neighborhood. I sometimes wondered if anyone else lived on the block because there was a little traffic so close to town. The house was more than exceptional when it came to communication and letting himself be available at any time to speak with. If there was a category for luxury class furnishing, amenities, location, and overall comfort this home would deserve to be in that slot. The pier square footage alone at the price is unmatched. I there’s plenty of areas to get away from one another and still be inside the house. The only problem I had, I wish I could’ve stayed longer to see what the winter look like in Ohio. I will recommend this property to coworkers traveling and look forward to staying here again on my way back through."

Located right across the street from Ohio Northern University’s campus and steps from downtown, this home was one of the first places ONU Founder, Henry Solomon Lehr lived when he ventured to Ada, Ohio. His granddaughter lived there carrying on the Lehr-Kennedy legacy.
Enjoy Padrones Pizza, just steps away, Mona’s lunches at 302 carry out (right next door!), visit family in the area, Tavern 101, enjoy the Ada Park, just minutes away, or take a stroll through campus! Welcome home!

The space
Welcome to this historic home built in the 1800’s with a quaint, cozy feel throughout, once serving as a residence to Henry Solomon Lehr, Ohio Northern University’s founder, and his wife, who hosted many guests as they passed through it visited Ada. Carrying on the tradition of fellowship and care, we welcome you, to our little Village of Ada and we hope you find your stay at The Grady House welcoming and enjoyable.

Parking:
Two private parking spaces are within feet of the back entry to the home. One step is required for entry into the home. The home has a quaint front porch, two chairs and is located right next to 302 Carryout for your convenience.

Keyless Entry is located at the back entrance and a personalized code will be given to you for your stay.

Kitchen:
You’ll enter through the back door into a large kitchen that has dinnerware, utensils, baking and cookware, a dishwasher, stove, microwave, full-size refrigerator, and coffeemaker.

Laundry Room: There is a full size washer and dryer located in the laundry room.

Dining Room: The Dining Room has a dining table that will comfortably hold up to six people for your meals, conversation and fellowship.

Living Room: Enjoy comfortable seating in the living room, as well as a dedicated desk for work, journaling or additional seating needs, as well as central air, high speed internet and a Fire TV, as well as games and cards for family entertainment.

First Floor Bedroom/Bath:
The first floor bedroom hosts a queen size bed, a closet, a reading/seating area, dresser and the main bathroom with a shower/bath is directly connected to this bedroom.

Second Floor Bedrooms:

The second floor had two bedroom, including one with a full-size bed, reading chair, dresser and a half bath connected to this bedroom.

The second upstairs bedroom includes a single daybed.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the above mentioned areas of the home and the parking spaces, excluding the garage.

We encourage the guests to have a wonderful stay and to treat the home with love and care and to adhere to guest counts.
This home has had many years of longevity and we are happy to continue to offer the same welcoming aspects that Henry Solomon Lehr offered back in 1875 to those who ventured through Ada.

No parties of any extreme fashion may be held in the home. There are several pieces that are historical, including for example, the couch in the living room. The couch was purchased from the Estate of Dr. DeBow Freed, former president of ONU, as he and Kitty Freed purchased it for their library. It was seldom used, due to the location of the piece, as the library was not regularly used for entertaining, but was selected and picked out by them for their home. It is appropriate that this piece join the home where President Lehr lived, as did his granddaughter, Miss Mary Kennedy, a dear friend to Dr. and Mrs. Freed.

Fun fact! When I was a student at ONU (yes, me…your host), I used to deliver Mrs. Freed’s famous and beautiful pink roses to Miss Mary, at this house! SO much history here! Enjoy it, respect it, love it, and know many greats have walked this same path.

There is a spacious backyard with plenty of grass. Should you want to explore Wedding or Baby Showers, Reunions, Graduation Gathering or Professional or Work Retreats, please let know!

The house is less than 2 miles from ONU campus and offers a close “getaway” option for families that typically stay on campus at the Inn.
